  1. Yeah, no fucking way. Wearing that stupid t shirt that one time was about all he needed to learn about politics to stfu. He’ll be interesting talking football on tv.
  2. GJ Kinne Jon Sumrall (Tulane HC) Will Stein (Oregon OC)
  3. Don't want Meacham to serve as interim, find a way to win a few games, and get handed the job. We need a complete reset.
  4. He'll be on TV somewhere. His press conferences are interesting and he knows a lot about the game obviously. Whether you like him or hate him he's still a known personality. No way he enters politics. He could say all the right things for this red state and he'd still be hated by more than half the state because he built his reputation at OSU and not OU. Hell, Cale Gundy has a better chance at being elected, he'd fit right in with today's climate.
  5. We're joining the Big 10 too!
  6. Didn't expect midseason but it was over either way. I assume Meachem will interim and I now have to hope we tank because we need youth and innovation in coaching like Gundy's early years. And to whoever said NIL strategy, yeah, duh, every program needs to figure out solid NIL plans to attract a new coach. Regardless of how it ended, Gundy transformed the program from nothingness to national relevance. One and a quarter bad seasons don't undo any of that, but it was time to move on in the new landscape.
  7. So will maga start cancelling Hulu/Disney+? They probably shouldn't have done anything at all and just let it blow over. They're now a target of both ends of the spectrum.
  8. There's also historical evidence of Muhammad. Both Christianity and Islam have at their core that they are absolutely right and others are absolutely wrong (paraphrasing obviously). So if you picked wrong, you're fucked. Or more accurately, if you were born into the wrong one, you're fucked. That's also why I can't get on board with any of it, because it sure sounds like a lottery of birth type situation. If the one you were born into is right you win, if born into the one that's wrong, you lose. Makes zero sense considering there's no tangible proof to steer you one way or the other. I don't know enough about the other smaller world religions to know if they also at their core similarly believe that they are the one true religion and everyone else is doomed.
  9. Your quote was "the powers that be on both sides will truly ever allow my sex to lead jackshit" which isn't true. The Democrats have now twice nominated a woman to the top of the presidential ticket. I think you're reading way too much into Kamala's book and to the extent she's saying those things its annoying af. Nevertheless, if Biden was "the powers that be" and didn't want Kamala on the ticket couldn't he have directed otherwise? Not to mention the plan was to keep him out of the spotlight during the campaign so he did very little in support of her but he certainly did nothing publicly to undermine her. The Democrats also for the last 20 years have elected a woman as Speaker of the House when they had the majority. Republicans have never elected a woman as Speaker. Are you suggesting that the leadership role of the Speaker of the House isn't "jackshit.?" Not to mention that referring to Kamala and Clinton as "tokens on the ticket" is asinine and about as sexist as anything else posted about those candidates. I'll just never understand "both sides"-erism in the current environment. I'm also not going to write a novel here about the numerous other examples of sexism, including revokation of womens' right to bodily autonomy and procreation decisions, which again, came solely from one "side."
  10. I don't think much of it is derisive anymore, it's legal, and there's no going back. ESPN is running a new program on SMU and their return to relevance which also is due solely to now legal "cash infusions."
  11. Hiring a legend's son to take over is always a good decision. What could possibly go wrong?
  12. Micah would not make a difference on this shit defense. He'd be 5 yards behind the QB on most plays anyway. Yes, it's coaching, which goes back to Jerry, because the only person willing to take the job was some scrub on staff that was on nobody else's radar even though he has a famous last name. No young innovative coach with options will ever work for Jerry, period.
  13. Lol, no. Plus Boone died in 2019 when things were still going well. The money has already been disbursed. And I doubt any such clause would be enforceable. I'm also not aware of any other money coming to OSU from Boone's Foundation, at least not from anything directed by Boone himself.
  14. It's annoying always having to push back on "both sides," but here we are again. The Democratic party has twice in the last three presidential elections nominated a woman to lead. The guy in between selected a woman as his vice president. Both of those women lost handily in elections in which sexism was rampant and blatant. Your ire should be directed to the other party who injected blatant sexism into their campaigns and the American people who voted in large numbers in support of that sexism. The result is that the Democratic party cannot nominate another woman for the foreseeable future, it would be political malpractice to do so at this point, not because they don't trust women to lead, they've twice now proven otherwise, but because of American politics in which the majority have spoken and said they will refuse to elect a woman. Edit to add that the Democrats had Nancy Peolisi pulling a lot of strings for a long time. Three of the four women on SCOTUS were from Democrat administrations. Saying that neither side will truly allow women to lead is asinine. Edit again that I just realized this is DT but my post is a response about political "sides" that I felt merited a response.
  15. There’s some humor in his current schtick. He’s just imitating his personal hero.
  16. Frustrated with the loss but this was my first game at the new stadium and it’s awesome! Had some brisket egg rolls. Couldn’t convince my dad to pitch in for a two foot hotdog lol.
  17. Boone’s final gift to OSU was primarily for education and some for golf. I doubt he’d be interested in funding $40 million annual football payroll. More than half of what he gave overall to OSU was for education. https://news.okstate.edu/articles/communications/2023/oklahoma_state_university_receives_a_120_million_gift_from_t_boone_pickens_foundation.html
  18. He’ll get the rest of the season and retire. I really don’t want an interim then questions whether to just hire that person. Need a complete reset.
  19. But not Catholic or traditional Protestant, they’re going to those pop collar garage band douche factories. And has been established don’t actually act Christlike in any meaningful way. It’s just a social club and justification to be a shithead human.
  20. Leo seems pretty cool, but he's still Catholic, and I doubt he wants to step into American political shit. It would confirm why many people didn't want an American pope.
  21. Goddamnit, this is such a waste of my time, but to the point of a company having demographic statistics, yeah most if not all will, because if a large organizations demographics are way off of the local population (let's say Black people make up 25% of the local population but only 5% of your personnel) it means the hiring process is flawed. There is no objective reason for the numbers to be that far off. Also, someone made the point earlier, having different perspectives is valuable in most board rooms, it's good for business. I already made the point, specific racial quotas were outlawed decades ago, that's not why companies keep statistics. Ugh, back to work.
