  1. Correct. It definitely looked like it went directly over the upright which by rule is considered good.
  2. We did pretty well in the portal so there's still some money coming from our richers. Not Cody Campbell money but I think we'll be decent this season. Would be nice for one of them to step up even more.
  3. I think the PAC 16 media deal would have been competitive with the BIG and SEC and everyone would have been happy. The ACC would have been far more likely to collapse. But who knows, we're all just speculating.
  4. That field goal was good and fuck you for reminding me of that game. Also, Texas didn't develop the LHN out of spite, it was given to them by ESPN to provide enough money to keep them from joining the PAC temporarily setting them up for the later move to the SEC or possibly getting the next PAC contract at which case they'd be good with the move. We were also screwed in 2011 despite the ISU game when coaches voted us low enough that Bama got the MNC title game spot by a fraction of a point, the smallest margin by far in the BCS era. I'm more pissed at the field goal tbh and that we agreed to a Friday night road game even though ISU wasn't good that year. Edit: That was also the day the women's basketball coach and some staff members died in a plane crash and I think that had something to do with how we played. Nobody to blame for that shitty circumstance.
  5. If there is a break off I think it’s more likely to be 48 or 64 (ish). A tiny version of Prestige Worldwide would cause too much apathy from the mid tier program fans and alum and shrink the pie too much. At least in my opinion. I for one wouldn’t care at all about Michigan vs Florida if it’s a separate division while my alma mater is Division 2.
  6. My friends and I discussed that too, we would have been in the upper half (or close) of game day experiences in the new conference.
  7. If it was logistically possible he should have found a way to make it work. The LHN was always temporary and his conference would have survived and competed well with the BIG and SEC.
  8. I also remember a game in Stillwater where we were told PAC officials were at to evaluate the game day experience. My friends and I were discussing if they might change the name of the new conference. We liked the Southwest and Pacific Conference aka the SoPac.
  9. It was going to be UT, aggy, Tech, OU, OKST, and CU. When aggy started crying I think KU was thrown out as a possible replacement. So KSU, ISU, BU, and possibly KU would have been left out. I always thought KU and maybe ISU and/or KSU would have a chance at being taken by the ACC. The common thinking was that Baylor was for sure out and likely to join MWC or Big East (now AAC).
  10. The original PAC 16 proposal was before the LHN existed. That contract was given by ESPN to prevent Texas from moving to the PAC whose contract was with Fox. The proposal came back up after the LHN contract was signed and it worked as the poison pill. I'm not sure if the move was even still possible after the LHN contract but if it was fuck Larry Scott for not letting UT keep it and finding a way to make it work. It would have presented some short term difficulties but his conference would have survived and been competitive with the BIG and SEC. Yes I'm still bitter because OKST was going to be a part of it and secured its safety at a time where we were all facing an ORST/WSU type demise.
  11. I love when he goes to the "maybe everyone should have been nicer to Texas" well. Especially when the explaination is that the IR8 circled the Texas game and tried too hard to win which was totally mean and unfair.
  12. Oh, I've never let that go, but even after aggy backed down, it still could have happened. ESPN bribed Texas with the LHN money to prevent going to the Fox contracted PAC. I'm also not sure anyone is genuinely "pissed" at Texas for any of this, at least not anything in addition to hating the local blueblood like an ordinary fan. It was always the money, if anything the ire is at ESPN for pulling all the strings behind the new absurdity.
  13. Are they really going to schedule that way though? Everyone else has a few "protected" games with no consistency. I'm advocating for that type of scheduling in the Big 12, everyone has three annual opponents and two from the other "pods" but it seems that no confernece will do that very straight forward method, because it probably makes too much sense.
  14. I thought he was yellow. I did a quick google and I guess they had a rainbow painted rocking chair a few years ago that maga thought was for the gays so they were already on the woke cancel culture list with these morons. I’m guessing that’s the real explanation.
  15. I personally don’t give a shit if SEC plays 8 or 9 games. It doesn’t fix that the conferences are too big and the media payouts still don’t make sense when it comes to the basement of those leagues. It drives me crazy that the conferences are still in competition with each other instead of working together like the pro leagues. The collapse of the PAC just about did it for me. It makes zero sense that the western half of the country doesn’t have a geographic league at the highest level. Cal and Stanford in the Atlantic Coast Conference is just too ridiculous for me to handle. There have always been haves and have nots so that doesn’t bother me as much. I also think the portal is fair but can’t stand how many players are using it and I can’t keep track of the roster anymore. The overall absurdity is where the sport is losing me but I’m also older so I can’t use myself as some sign that the sport is in trouble overall. I suspect it probably is going to lose overall interest to a noticeable degree soon.
  16. Ok can someone fill me in why the maga morons are saying Cracker Barrel’s logo change is woke? Like it’s dumb and unnecessary but what makes it woke? I’m sure it’s something really really really fucking stupid.
  17. I’m not crying you’re crying. Great season. Looking forward to at least one more season. RIP Lynn, RIP Lynn, RIP Lynn, so that Charlie doesn’t die.
  18. The "problem" is unfixable with 16 team conferences that cannot do round robins. Divisions don't work either not only because as you recognize they are suseptible to weak and strong divisions, but with 16 teams it leads to conference teams seeing each other maybe once a decade or more which sucks. As long as there is a CCG from here on out it will be the top two teams in the standings regardless of scheduling inequities in any given year. We already have a few "protected" annual games that make things really weird. If you don't like the word "pod," then just say that each team gets 3 annual "protected" games. Again, I'm not talking about "pods" as in divisions or subdivisions as used in the NFL or other sport, I'm talking scheduling only so that each team plays three nearby (relatively) teams every year. It makes sense for geography, provides some annual regularity and possibly new rivalry-ish sentiment, while still allowing for teams outside of the "pod" or "protected" schedule to play each other semi-regularly over a decade. Any setup that doesn't have annual farmageddon is flat out stupid.
  19. Before being tossed into the pit of hell? Rest in piss asshole.
  20. They can do it all they want in the stands, and can even do it twice on the field without penalty. I knew they threw tortillas for whatever reason, cool everyone has unique traditions, but didn't know they did it regularly onto the field during a game. I don't get the "whoa is us" narrative going on from Hocutt and the fans. Why should there be an exception for throwing tortillas on the field as opposed to bottles or green dildoes?
  21. I was already not buying the narratives but when I learned that much of the Bible, including the old testament, is plagerized from prior myths and legends, it was obvious to me that people who treat it as infallible and sacred and most importantly literal are weird. This was in high school for me after intense Catholic upbringing (avoided molestation thankfully). I'm to the point where I truly think that the vast majority of church goers know deep down that it's not literal and manmade nonsense but like being "part of the club," like a country club but you can fake paying the fees, or even if you're poor, you can tithe a few bucks here and there and still be part of the club. Today, at least in 'murica, it's just a justification for hatred of "others." I'll never be convinced that the hateful bigots who use religion as justification truly believe that shit, they just like that they can be assholes with an excuse.
  22. You’re the ones crying about tortillas even though you can do it twice a game. I expect you’ll do better with aggy type money than aggy but you got a long way to go to catch up since you let CJK5H control your program.
