  1. i actually enjoyed the dialog. good report and wit between gosling and ana, and gosling and evans. i thought all that was well written. might be the first time i've liked billy bob in a role also. for once i didnt feel like he was acting, or overacting. the action scenes were mostly dumb, imho. some of the cgi even cheesy. my biggest problem with the movie is the actual premise itself. totally implausible. there are a million murderers in the prison system, and they're going to come to this guy and say we'll let you out if you join the cia? come on.
  2. i'm working on a bottle of st george's now. had a few g&t's over the weekend with a splash of fresh watermelon juice from one that i cut up for salad. my next two bottles on deck are gray whale and nikka coffey.
  3. bicycle thief in halifax, as suggested, is a great place. five fishermen is great upscale seafood. the canteen is also worth checking out. for sightseeing i also recommend peggy's cove, lunenburg, and mahone bay. very picturesque fishing villages. dont look like they've changed much in 200 years.
  4. cant wait for the finale tonight. all this time i've thought the old man in the show title was jeff bridges character. then, in the last episode, lithgow makes reference to the old man so now it's leading me to wonder if his story plays a bigger role next season. either that or he bites the dust tonight.
  5. I'm not finding the show all that interesting. dumb people making dumb decisions all the while thinking they're onto something and part of some glorious revolution. none of the people am i sympathetic to. i'm basically just skimming ahead waiting for the orgy to start. when they all start sleeping together maybe the show will get interesting. their politics sure as hell aren't.
  6. i thought it was
  7. if it's not scottish, it's crap.
  8. the character i cant stand is stephen root's. he serves no purpose - didnt when he was on barry's side, or against. he's a con artist and has no value. someone needs to off that mother.
  9. i actually stopped watching a couple of episodes ago. it has its moment, clever in a lot of ways, but the darkness that others have commented on is overshadowing the comedy.
  10. i still have over 300. i burned most of them onto my itunes and keep a laptop around that is useless otherwise, so i keep it just for itunes. i like playing music better there because of the shuffle play. i used to have a sony cd player that could random play 51, and that worked fine, but it conked out years ago, so my current cd player only plays one at a time. i like the shuffle play of itunes because i can get a willie nelson, followed by a miles davis, followed by a led zepellin.
  11. she picked the white ones.
  12. this is a great show, one of my faves on at the moment, but allow me to quibble. jeff bridges slept with the afghani's wife, and that's it? the terrorist has been plotting for 30 years for this revenge? seems a little vindictive to me, even for an afghani.

  14. so man in black is now a robot? why is he so vengeful? the intellectual property that we wants back so badly wasnt his if he's not human. what happened to serac? did he die with rehoboam? i cant remember and should have watched the last episode of season 3 as a refresher. i liked that after 7 years the drones are finding that human life isnt much more free or fun than robot life. christina wakes up the same way and does the same things in a rut much like dolores did. i also liked the choice between the white shoes or the black ones, much like they used to offer the customers a choice of white hat or black hat.
  15. i've been to gaido's once, and agree you should have the experience in your background, but i'm not sure i'd go back. decor kind of 60's ish, menu kind of 60's ish.
  16. this is where i am too. some people take this shit too seriously. it's entertainment. i've watched every episode and will continue to.
  17. it was okay. it kind of had a cheesy, made for tv movie look to it. script was weak, acting wasn't great. criticism aside i'm in for the season. love that part of the country.
  18. had a great meal at the tremont. its worth considering. they have a rooftop bar too.
  19. congrats! i went there for the first time spring break. had an epic trip - 2 tx monthly top 50 bbq joints, 3 distilleries, 3 breweries, 3 wineries.
  20. all lives matter
  21. looks like we got ourselves a reader.
  22. i gave up after two episodes. i saw the movie and it was okay, better than this show is. imo, they made a mistake in the casting of both main characters. she was hot in got, but not so much here, and both actors rub me the wrong way. too difficult to watch.
  23. i didnt get the impression from this last trip you were overly enthralled with montmarte. surprised and pleased you are going back for a week there. i'll have to read your website posts when i get a chance.
  24. is there a boardwalk to the beach over the dunes? one of my prerequisites is walk to the beach, and i dont mean down the street either. must be on the beach. there are some dumpy, or at least not so nice, places that fit that bill, and some ultra posh ones too. i've probably stayed at 10 different places down there.
