  1. i still have over 300. i burned most of them onto my itunes and keep a laptop around that is useless otherwise, so i keep it just for itunes. i like playing music better there because of the shuffle play. i used to have a sony cd player that could random play 51, and that worked fine, but it conked out years ago, so my current cd player only plays one at a time. i like the shuffle play of itunes because i can get a willie nelson, followed by a miles davis, followed by a led zepellin.
  2. this is a great show, one of my faves on at the moment, but allow me to quibble. jeff bridges slept with the afghani's wife, and that's it? the terrorist has been plotting for 30 years for this revenge? seems a little vindictive to me, even for an afghani.
  3. so man in black is now a robot? why is he so vengeful? the intellectual property that we wants back so badly wasnt his if he's not human. what happened to serac? did he die with rehoboam? i cant remember and should have watched the last episode of season 3 as a refresher. i liked that after 7 years the drones are finding that human life isnt much more free or fun than robot life. christina wakes up the same way and does the same things in a rut much like dolores did. i also liked the choice between the white shoes or the black ones, much like they used to offer the customers a choice of white hat or black hat.
  4. i've been to gaido's once, and agree you should have the experience in your background, but i'm not sure i'd go back. decor kind of 60's ish, menu kind of 60's ish.
  5. this is where i am too. some people take this shit too seriously. it's entertainment. i've watched every episode and will continue to.
  6. it was okay. it kind of had a cheesy, made for tv movie look to it. script was weak, acting wasn't great. criticism aside i'm in for the season. love that part of the country.
  7. had a great meal at the tremont. its worth considering. they have a rooftop bar too.
  8. congrats! i went there for the first time spring break. had an epic trip - 2 tx monthly top 50 bbq joints, 3 distilleries, 3 breweries, 3 wineries.
  9. i gave up after two episodes. i saw the movie and it was okay, better than this show is. imo, they made a mistake in the casting of both main characters. she was hot in got, but not so much here, and both actors rub me the wrong way. too difficult to watch.
  10. i didnt get the impression from this last trip you were overly enthralled with montmarte. surprised and pleased you are going back for a week there. i'll have to read your website posts when i get a chance.
  11. is there a boardwalk to the beach over the dunes? one of my prerequisites is walk to the beach, and i dont mean down the street either. must be on the beach. there are some dumpy, or at least not so nice, places that fit that bill, and some ultra posh ones too. i've probably stayed at 10 different places down there.
  12. what rooftop were these taken from? did you use zoom for eiffel tower/sacre coeur pics?
  13. you've set your bar way too low if those are indicators of optimism for you.
  14. Thats true, and in hindsight she should have done. she looked stunned. somehow they both had it in their head that mike and jonathan had turned on each other and were going to vote against each other. what a misread.
  15. nice synopsis. maryanne just leaped to the top, replacing omar. big, bold move. and she calculated the strategy perfectly. the thick-headed, dumbass men of mike and jonathan just couldnt see it, so voted for romeo. romeo? seriously? romeo? what idiots. he has no shot in winning. take him to the end. make him make fire. he has no chance at either of those. there is 0% chance of romeo winning this game. a vote for him is a complete waste.
  16. ugh. i have no respect for that kind of art. worked at the blanton for 4 years and developed a nice appreciation for some art and learned a lot, but there was so much that i just didnt get. curators would go nuts and pay fortunes for monotone canvases, etc.
  17. is the museum of modern art the same as the pompidou? Tell us some more thoughts on montmarte please. it's quieter than some of the other tourist destinations - less shopping and fine dining, but has an older feel to it. the fact that degas, picasso, utrillo, matisse, renoir, van gogh, etc lived there is cool enough for me.
