  1. my prerequisites are see and hear the gulf, and mainly beach access. i refuse to get in a hot car while already baking, sweaty, oily, and sandy. have never rented a cart, and you guys are starting to make that appealing for the first time, but i've always loved a short walk over the dunes to the beach. my two favorites are aransas princess and mayan princess, but have also stayed at beachhead, island retreat, the dunes, sandcastle, and it seems like another one or two condo complexes i cant remember now.
  2. so do you go for the weller 12 or the stagg jr? tough choice. i have more weller 12 than stagg jr, but would probably grab that one. that looks like small batch eht. if it were single barrel that would add further dilemna.
  3. have they opened up any of the new expansion? does the public have access to any of the new land yet at all?
  4. it's definitely going to be shota and gabe in the final two. dawn is next to go. she's made it through by the skin of her teeth way too many times.
  5. awesome. i stopped at navajo bridge. enjoyed it there but no condors. we had a vrbo in fredonia that worked out fantastically for doing everything we wanted to do. it snowed like a sonofabitch so that was something to work around, and the cold, but really the only misses were condors and north rim.
  6. I was in great basin a couple of years ago. was a great trip and love my pictures of the bristlecone pines. there was a short side trail off that one that took you to a snowmelt lake. did you happen to hit that too? it was beautiful. went to vermillion cliffs spring break, with one of the goals to see the condors but didnt see a damn one. they are at the north rim also, but it was closed due to snow on the road. going to have to head back that way soon to check that off. where did you see yours? capitol reef?
  7. lightning schmitning. i eat lightning for breakfast.
  8. what fucking delay? i'm in austin and not gotten a drop of rain all day.
  9. that was it. the time i went they were terribly disorganized as far as hostess and seating goes, but the food was outstanding. lisabella's was a couple of doors down at one time and was one of the better meals ive ever had in town. i know they've moved to cinnamon shores since. that just leaves roosevelts as decent dining in that area.
  10. what was the name of the fairly upscale place right on the corner of alister and cotter? is it still open?
  11. i find nothing better in the liquor stores of kentucky than the liquor stores of texas. allocation is allocation.

    Dessert

chez zee is the first place that came to mind.
  13. only episode one has been on regular hbo, i guess as a teaser. any word of the others airing there, or will it stay on hbo max?
  14. he wont. the shopping is no better in kentucky than other states. his best bet is going to buffalo trace every day he's there. they put out blantons but it's one per customer per day.
  15. you fucker
  16. or when clayton's ended for "when a woman's getting raped, she should just lie back and enjoy it".
  17. has there ever been a show with more deplorable characters than this one? i dont know if any of the writers are from this town but they sure depict as a shithole. the kids in the restaurant beating up the priest, the father of the dead girl shooting her boyfriend, the other father that threw a rock through mare's window, the bullies of the down syndrome kid, the kids that setup a fake account and led the dead girl to believe she was going on a date, the stealing and burning of the diaries..... its just one immoral act after another on this show.
  18. i just found my first bottles of ezra 7, smoke wagon, new riff, iron smoke, filibuster, and watershed. hallelujah!
  19. i'd say there are 100-1000 bourbons on the shelf in every liquor store of any given town, so we are all passing on bottles regularly. my shelves are full and overflowing so have gotten pretty selective. i saw eagle rare on the shelf last week and passed on it. blantons is my all time favorite, and have two unopened and one opened but i'd probably still pick that one up.
  20. nicely done!
  21. where in the hell did you find the laguna?
  22. that's where i am. i bought last year's release (for i wanna say $160) but just saw the 2021 on the shelf last week for $232. could not pull the trigger.
  23. me too. both challenges were interesting so that makes for a good episode. was getting tired of hearing about the knee too, but also he just wasn't assertive or putting himself out there all season. gabe is clearly an asshole and should have gone home last week instead of the girl for the tots. justice was served this week even though it was not his salmon that was hammered.
  24. coastal or freshwater flyfishing? Nice liquor and food selection. that's the fine life, baby.
