  1. as an aside. Red Eyes slams, goes hard
  2. I'm not sure the Canadians....or really any Western nation, allow you to go full Wells Fargo, the way we do, but definitely plenty of US financial institutions north of the border.
  3. Edited for kindness.
  4. What about "Gayer than 2 dudes fucking 3 dudes?" Where do we stand on that?
  5. Is there a basic learner on options? I have no interest in day trading, but occasionally I get a sense of where the macros are going and I’d like to hedge my generally long philosophy
  6. Rewatched Bridget Jones Diary. Always good fun. It's wild that Renee Zellweger was considered "fat" in that movie. She's pretty much wheelhouse. Ben Affleck's character was absurd. And thoroughly enjoyable.
  7. As somebody here put it: Powell had basically the economy 10 feet off the ground on a soft landing glide. Then that orange fool grabbed the yoke and flipped the fucking plane over.
  8. RIP to one of the best. Everyone always accounts the English Bob beating and the end of Unforgiven for memoriable scenes, but when he describes the shoot out at the Blue Bottle Saloon is such an darkly funny moment that captures how legends are created and grow. Unforgiven remains to this day my favorite film and Hackman is the engine that drives the movie so Clint and the other actors can shine around him. He's undoubtly cruel and violent, but he's not the legal villian of the movie, Munny is by every measure, no matter how empowering the final shootout makes us feel. Daggett: "You see, if old Corky had've had two guns, instead of just a big dick, he would have been there right to the end to defend himself."
  9. Este. It's also a hella good movie, funny and touching at different points.
  10. Well, crushing the market to drive up Bond prices and push down interest rates without Daddy JPow.....is certainly a strategy. I did not have intentionally starting a recession on my list of 2025 Bingo, but then again, I also didn't have anti-vax sentiment and openly allying with Russia. Maybe I should get into a new line of work.
  11. I, for one, enjoy paying 25% more for fucking everything.
  12. luckily i slide back into bonds a few weeks ago on a lark. You know it's bad when people are even really trying to buy the dip.
  13. Its either Warren Buffett or Charlie Munger who said he'd rather have somebody with a 130 IQ who thinks their IQ is 120, rather than someone with a 150 IQ who thinks it's 170. Beyond the fact that Musk has no idea what he's doing, I think the years of Ketamin and other psychoactive drug use has done some real damage. Ships in the night....
  14. This is a great post, and I appreciate your insight. As an empath, detecting masking is almost cartoonishly easy, and for 99% of people, it's neither here or there, it's just another personality habit to consider and account for. Like ADHD (which I am) or introversion. 1% are sociopaths, and by the time we pick up on it, it's usually terrifyingly too late.
  15. Well, I don’t see how the Ukrainian’s don’t directly reach out to the Chinese and at least say: “let’s have a cup of coffee. Is that wrong? Whose going to judge that?”
  16. Poland, which has its own shared unique history with Israel, shares a similar sentiment: Never Again. Most people take that in the pacifist, positive way. But that’s not how either country means it.
  17. Holy fuck. I just had the best flashback to being a little and playing on my Grandfather’s back while sitting in the beer garden at the Saengerrunde/Scholz Garten. Thank you, Sir.
  18. lol, they aren’t doing those cuts. You can probably book $4 trillion in added debt/spending.
