  1. Well fuck me, didn’t know that was going on in March. Shit, guess I will go back and give it another try. Thanks for link
  2. Not against that (in fact for it) and Restaurants do have it tough, I get that for all the reasons above. But went to the bar next door back in March bc of March madness (no bball, fuck Shaka) and figured I’d help support local business while getting out for a bit. Ordered wings and a beer, and Diet Coke just after the wings arrived. Was about $31 before tip; 7beer (fine, that’s just nyc), 2ish coke (fine, that’s just restaurant prices anywhere), but wings were $18 for 8. Fuck me! Pre-pandemic easily 12ish, maybe 15 on the rare chance but 18?! I get they need to make rent but it felt like they were doubling or tripling prices across the board for the entrees. I don’t Hate them for it but won’t really go back either. Rather spend at other places until things calm down. In fact we have stayed away from eating out bc some places have insane prices. it’s one thing to pass along price increases from market forces but for this normal ass bar it felt like they were hiking the prices in order to make up for all the months of lost revenue. I get it, it sucked for y’all, sucked for me too, but don’t think that I as the customer should suffer it all now either.
  3. Sorta the same with the armpit lymph nodes here. Not swollen but definitely tender/sensitive. Got it the day after but gone now on day 5 (probably only lasted 2 days).
  4. Remember the Barnett guy with his shoes on pelosi's desk? Saw he was released pre-trial but then realized I went to school with his lawyer. I hadn't realize my buddy had gotten so trumpy. Glad he was on cnn the other day but still embarrassing.
  5. Went to a newish mexican restaurant that was taking reservations for some reason (been in pandemic mode so long seemed strange as hell to deal with a restaurant that wouldn't immediately try to serve us in order to make some money) but lots of people were late so they were letting in first come first serve. Waited about 5 min and got seated. There was a 90 minute limit but stayed 4 hours. Got free straw hats and had 3 margs, 2 beers, and a quesadilla. Took straw hats to another brand new mexican peruvian restaurant around the corner where we got weird looks for the hats. Fuck'em, outrageous straw hats are funny no matter who wears them and anyone can. Proceeded to have salchipappas, 3 margs, and 4 shots with the mariachis who stayed to drink. Walked home and bought chicken/lamb over rice and finished it off with a bag of tortilla chips. I feel like a fucking fat ass. But woke up ok, showered, started work at 10.
  6. Damn Cali, get it together, keep your citizens from going to Texas…please!. . . wait is this thread a serious one considering ms. Jenner? I thought she’d be last behind serious candidates, my bad I haven’t paid attention
  7. yeah, haven't read that article but that first paragraph is abysmal. great job journalists!
  8. To be fair, the first time I read that tweet in your post (without really reading the context from the quoted post or your post), I assumed the tweet on the left was mainly criticizing the unvaccinated worked that caused someone else to die: "If everyone had been responsible and vaccinated like we recommended, the resident wouldn't have died." But yeah, I see what y'all are saying too.
  9. Had covid Jan 9-19, finally said fuck it and i should get the vaccine. NYC fucked up the rollout of the vaccine amongst other things (no cr) but holy hell, the current website is a breeze to navigate. Saturday night i made the decision to get vaxxed, and could narrow the search for first dose by brand and location. The Times Sq location was pfizer only and had tons of free spots late saturday and all day sunday. Got first shot yesterday at 4pm. 2nd dose will be May 23. Felt fine yesterday other than sore arm, woke up this morning with it feeling like Tyson punched the shit out of it. Otherwise mildly under the weather but nothing too bad or notable, just not feeling hundred percent. My allergies last week were way worse.
  10. As a Latino, it’s offensive. It’s akin to to hearing Ellis & Salazar. Real austinites know what I mean
  11. Is it worth it to own the S and the X or vice versa to back each other up? Saying this as someone who just owns btc and isn’t interested/able to deep drive into other coins right now. But it is a nice chunk of btc (to me at least). Was told to just get the X, but the ledger website selling a beginners combo for both devices and I know Jack squat about cold storage
  12. Kealing hornets, holla!
  13. Here at Astoria park, first time I’ve seen her speak in person. She is a tiny human. Can’t hear shit but glad I came to at least see her. Smaller crowd than I expected and everyone very youngish. Kind of funny that I never thought soap boxes were a thing but holy hell, a couple extra feet would do wonders in this situation. Good for her for speaking today in commemoration of earth day activities. Can’t get closer to see but also glad that this thread has fallen so far. She is doing work but a 245 pg thread on a house rep from the NYC on a tx college board?
  14. Now, only now. Back when the flashing envelope warning was flying around it seemed to span the spectrum of ideas, albeit obviously conservative considering it was a Texas message board. If you hide the url and user names, for the most controversial/"popular" political threads from 2020 on you'd be hard pressed to guess whether the posts were on TD, Texags, or Hornfans. A lot of the HF posts would get shut down pretty quick over here.
  15. Sadly, IMO the old Hornfans political board is indistinguishable from texags, tiger droppings. Never gone to orange bloods, so no clue on them or other texas boards. That said, the food and investing boards on texags and tiger droppings are pretty great and seem rather “normal”. The few threads on those two specific sections that I’ve checked out have funny/interesting info and nothing glaringly vitriolic. I think they even started a penny stock thread due to the one here but that’s just pure conjecture.
  16. cool article and I know they're technically right but calling parts of Utah the southern U.S. just seems ... off.
  17. they don’t have that already? You got one, give us a concession
  18. Agreed the culpability is non-zero for the first 2 but we wouldn’t even have this convo if not for the third one making a mistake. Guns don’t kill people, people do, am I doing that right here for #3?
  19. Philando Castile would say Eat a dick, but he can’t cause he did all the above and was still murdered.
  20. Nice stories overall but What the shit do they have to do with memes? Couldn’t it just be a pandemic story of good will? Or just normal goodwill stories?
  21. So how long until the new alt coin for strip clubs is called the Ursher?
  22. To be fair, you can have your hands out of the car and open the door to get out. It’s awkward as hell but certainly possible; also doesn’t exclude the shitty ass cops in this situation. Just wanted to point out that the commands aren’t exactly conflicting. Confusing for some, sure, but not strictly conflicting so that’s just bad reporting (sadly par for the course of today’s journalism) edit: forgot he had his seatbelt on, that would be conflicting orders but yeah, no doubt he’d be shot if he reached in without warning and even if he said he was going to undue his seatbelt, I’d put it at over 50% he’d be shot. Still stand by fact that it is shitty reporting though.
  23. @Johnny Sack: "he should have obeyed orders!"
