  1. To be fair, at Huckleberry household game nights I do both.
  2. The issue with using 2020 is specifically regarding early voting trends. Pre-2020, Rs voted early and Ds voted on election day. I don't think you can draw conclusions either way. There's not really a good reason why we wouldn't expect to trend back that direction post-pandemic. It's just impossible to say how much until after the real final data comes in unfortunately.
  3. I agree that new old voters will not be as heavily R as historical old voters. However I think the down that they will still break in Trump's favor is valid. But my gut is they will be much closer to 50/50 than the ones who have spent decades being turned into party over country dummies.
  4. Not sure about that. I don't think he's as good as he looked at first. Now there's tape on him, I think he's still playing at a good level for him.
  5. People are correct that Ewers has not looked great the last few weeks. But I'm not sure why he's being singled out. The entire offense has looked like shit with the possible exception of Wisner, Helm, and the small amount of Blue this week. QB, OL, WR, coaching. It's all been ass.
  6. "Old people can be forgetful. Now go get me a beer whatever-your-name-is."
  7. Well if that's the case then good of them to adjust.
  8. High turnout? lol
  9. Dallas County came back strong today. In fact they had more votes today than any day so far.
  10. I don't know about murdered but Biden should absolutely order that anyone who tries something be arrested and imprisoned. He's old, he's on the way out, and SCOTUS says he has immunity for official actions. Protection of federal elections is absolutely an official action. Throw them in prison immediately and let SCOTUS sort it out.
  11. Dallas and Bexar Counties are the problems. Dallas fell behind Montgomery as the biggest 2020 to 2024 percentage drop in early voting.
  12. Well then that's good news for me. I can blame the alcohol, you have to answer more directly for your own transgressions.
  13. When it comes to you, sometimes I want to deliver a right cross (your core, innate, intrinsic need to believe in the legal system to the point that you can't see what Aileen Cannon is all about); other times, I want to buy you a beer. You are a genuinely good person trying to make sense of a world inhabited by others who aren't good people. Admittedly it all makes sense from my perspective because that's the one I see, but I feel like even with disagreements you and I could engage in hours of respectful discussion. You know, like Madison and Jefferson's Great Collaboration.
  14. Within this post we see the sum total of the intellectual, educated, and learned research and investigation which may lead one to vote Republican in this cycle. Given a forum in which they may argue anything, based on any logic, to vote for their party with the promise of zero repercussion for their positions, the best they can muster is: "Look over here! Football!"
  15. I'm not going to lie. The shit coming out right now almost indicates that the fourth estate understands the stakes. My main issue is that these idiots are a week late. 10-15% of the people who will vote have already voted. As an eternal optimist I'd like to believe that this shit is timed as well as they can muster. But fuck them for not beating this drum constantly, day in and day out, for years. Seriously. Even if you're a classical liberal (what conservatism used to mean), you know that the nation can easily withstand a Kamala Harris presidency and still move toward your preferred end state. The ultra-nationalism and ethnocentrism (white nationalism) represented by Trump is a direct threat to American ideals. Fuck these pussies for waiting until T minus 12 days to start flooding the national narrative with this shit.
  16. Oh shit. The Spurs just kicked the Mavericks' ass. Bexar County had more early voters on D4 than D3, bucking all historical trends. Despite having 86.7% as many RVs they had 20% more votes on D4 than Dallas County.
  17. I mean logically speaking they should hold the Beyoncé concert at NRG and have her go all day while people are waiting in line to vote early. Just sayin'.
  18. Look man, just say it. Just say Mackowiak. Wait, did he ever run for anything himself? I genuinely don't know, but I did find this picture of him: (if he didn't suck I wouldn't post this)
  19. Dallas County probably has an "I registered" sticker.
  20. I've voted for more Rs than that since I could vote (1996) but as I said in a thread somewhere this week, I don't care about party. I vote based on values and principles. It's not my fault that in 2024 that means voting against a particular party in every race possible. That's their fault.
