Nice deep cut.
I was at that game. Irby was a tough motherfucker just for returning to Texas and seeing game time years later and having some good plays for us.
There's just almost nothing I agree about in your post. In regards to Endries, ignoring the jinxing and superstition part, you don't like him because his first school was Cal? As if players aren't drafted from shit schools or even DII schools all the time? As if players don't get overlooked from recruiters in HS and turn into great players at the college level? Don't tell Aaron Rogers he's never going to be successful in the NFL because he went to Cal, bud. Or Tony Gonzalez. Or Marshawn Lynch. Or DeSean Jackson.
I feel like you're just talking in bizarre circles regarding the DT situation. You think Collins and Broughton performed better because they were older, but they were ass literally the year before. If you want to make a case that an 18 year old isn't the same as a 22 year old, ok, but lets not fucking pretend that a 21 year old and a 22 year old are night and day, because they're not. And it completely negates your point of "Well they were developing the entire time in the background." Well, if that was true, why the fuck did they suck as 21 year olds and perform balls out as 22 year olds? Your stance makes zero sense.
Your belief that they were "more talented" than the 3 senior transfers we got is based on...what? Sure, Collins was a 5 star. So was one of our transfers, Shaw. When older transfers come from other schools, they're just not that talented, but when they underperform at Texas under Bo Davis, they were just developing and waiting for the light to come on? That's horseshit. I'll tell you when the light came on, it's when Kenny Baker got here.
