  1. Good buy. I’m sure all here are following the actions in the house and senate right now and I don’t want to cloak room this thread so I’ll just say one thing. If you have been on the fence about a new caliber or an AR I would STRONGLY suggest buying ASAP. I’ve read the senate bill that is being proposed and it has dozens of pages of specifically named guns you can and can’t buy. Based on how many DD guns are listed in the bill I’d say they’re about to be out of business if this bill gets the votes it needs.
  2. She’s here. Now just need to find ammo subsonic hollow points and range ammo.
  3. Manning being our AD would be an absolute disaster. Get him in house if we want him or he wants to be but he has absolutely ZERO business chops.
  4. The Jeff long factor is troubling here. If we let him hire someone he’ll fuck it up. Even with a search committee he is not good at the top of a committee. If we fire him and wait until the end of the year to make a hire we will have approximately zero recruits signed by December. Torching our roster. While I 100% disagree with the reporter that said KU is in worse shape than when les got to Lawrence (our roster is far better) firing Les at this moment is going to set us back 2 years and that isn’t good for a program that is reeling. Once again 12 years of losing records (not more than 3 wins) and 15 is now squarely in the crosshairs. If we get to 15 then I’d say momentum is on the side of 20 straight years of losing records. I don’t know if a non-ncaa hit like this has ever happened or further taken down an entire school but if basketball gets punished KU might seriously go the way of smu at this point and a large part of the downfall of the institution will be because of hiring incompetent athletic directors and coaches. Pretty amazing when you think about it.
  5. This is correct. He has an auto renewal in his contract for whatever amount of years our penalty from the ncaa might be. Which complicates firing him. It also makes a lot of KU fans wonder where his heart is on the appeal. He has made some suspect moves, against HCBS’s wishes, that have hurt us in our case.
  6. Well color me shocked. Miles is done.
  7. Whatever happens here I can only guarantee long will fuck it up. I don’t think you fire Les because of something that happened 6-9 years ago but he should have never been hired because of this. That’s on Jeff Long. More interesting, look at the whole scenario. Firing miles will be a nuclear bomb to the program and roster. What is actually a pretty rebuilt roster going into 2021. We’d likely have to hire a D2 coach or maybe a mid-major assistant. We’d have massive roster turnover and be starting from scratch. We haven’t had a winning season in 12 years. That streak could easily extend to 20 if we lose the roster we have. Secondly, look at the athletic department. We’re bleeding money. We have a women’s basketball coach that needs to be fired. We have a baseball coach that needs to be fired. We have awful football facilities. We have a head basketball coach that needs a new contract. Oh and we have the NCAA about to go in deep on us. Now... given that long should be fired for hiring miles who in the fuck would want to take on the AD job??? Further, we are paying $1.5M a year to Long because of solely the ncaa investigation. We’d have to pay someone $5M a year if they negotiate on all of the above points. If KU basketball gets wiped out we are looking at becoming SMU.
  8. Bought in may 2020. Check cashed 6/12. Approved 2/11. I was actually a month away from calling my congressman as I’ve been told they push things through very quickly when contacted. If I had any faith that I would get new suppressors at even 3-4 months I’d buy one for every gun. Im not going thru this again when politics are involved.
  9. Got word today that the ATF finally approved my tax stamp. So of course I immediately called my FFL and they hadn’t received it yet. Integrally suppressed 300blk should be out of jail in the next 2-3 weeks based on a 2/11 approval date.
  10. Sitting in the airport about to board for Scottsdale. Troon and Quintero and the bonus of getting away from the polar vortex about to dump snow and negative temps on Tulsa.

    Britt Reid

Britt needs to be fired. That is the first move.

Being from KC I can say there is a reasonably rich history of not just giving chiefs staff/players a free pass, initially. I say initially because arrests are made and then basically media blackout on results of bargains/trials. That being said, those arrests weren’t the son of a super bowl winning coach. Hope the kid is ok. Hope Reid’s family can get the help they’ll need. Hope Britt faces the consequences we all would face if we were in the same position.
  13. Salty 107 on the blue monster. Would like to have another go at it with my clubs and a yardage book. Played the Silver Fox the next day and shot 48/41 for an 89. Was on fire on the backside.
  14. You and me vs. the world.
  15. Since you guys dropped the ball I had an old pro friend call and get me on the blue monster Monday with the members. Playing the silver Fox at doral on Tuesday.
  16. Gents, 2021 is rolling. I'm headed to Miami for a handful of days this weekend. Where should I and the old man play?
  17. I think K will use the women decision to end his season. He’s going to try and push his influence on the entire ncaa to see just how powerful he is. I’m preparing for the season or at least the tourney to be cancelled once he flexes.
  18. Since it's snowing here I'll assume my season is about over unless I get a last minute trip in. Last week I was +2 thru 6 at my home course in KC. Proceeded to shoot a 96. Thursday back in Tulsa, I thought it was more of the same with a 46 on the front side. Then had my best ever back side at my club here. Finished with an 86 and a handicap index 11.0. Up 0.3 points from the beginning of the year but that's because I didn't have a consistent schedule all year. 49 rounds before 6/1. Finished with 72 rounds, not including about 5-6 9 hole gimmick rounds (scrambles/varying tee holes/etc on tuesday nights). Can't complain. Have a trip to streamsong booked, a trip to pebble booked, and Scottsdale in february. Goal for next year is to get 70 rounds in again.
  19. Caught my first horns game of the season today (in a bar). I thought they had a player coach for a second. Don’t know what I expected shaka’s hair to look like but it wasn’t that.
  20. Talking with a Wichita friend yesterday and he’s astonished with the buyout. Doesn’t even know what to read into it... was the program just ready to remove a stain and paid him to leave with little evidence to conclude the investigation? Did the AD and school admin know so they are covering their ass by paying out and sacrificing Marshall? I think it’s pretty clear they didn’t feel they had him dead to rights on the legal front.
  21. Couldn’t happen to a better guy. He’ll end up at liberty or something. Probably never sniff big time basketball again.
  22. Just want to comment that John king on CNN is the best big board guy in the biz. He and cnn have the best coverage if you like seeing the map evolve.
  23. Sorry for getting everyone off topic. My only point was that it wasn't something that needed to be said. As mentioned by others, some insane amount of voting has already happened so it probably won't move the needle too much, especially since 90%+ of voters aren't on the fence.
  24. Meh... I don't vote. Started working for myself and realized that I'm much better off knowing/understanding how candidates and policy will affect my business and adapting to them than actually opining on them. Also, I'm not really talking about the issues, I'm conversing about debate tactics. That being said, are you suggesting that cordial conversation about the issues and feasibility of solutions a bad thing?
  25. Maybe I'm just going deeper than you are. Especially if we get into the Green New Deal. PVC isn't going to go away because it is far better, cheaper, and efficient than the alternatives. If it wasn't we wouldn't use it now. If we're rebuilding infrastructure and buildings (like GND proposes) then we would probably actually see an enormous spike in use of petroleum based products. Solar panels aren't made with mud. Energy efficient insulation isn't made by chewing on hemp. That stuff is made with petroleum based products. That being said, we're getting away from the original intent of my comment and the thread. Biden didn't have to go where he went and he did. A tactical error that Trump is going to jump on. How much it matters with a week and a half left will be determined soon (hopefully not by a court or the legislature).
