  1. Are they going through your refrigerator, saying "Expired. Expired. EXPIRED!"
  2. apparently just down the street. it's long gone now.
  3. Torrential downpour right now Capital of Texas Hwy and Bee Caves Road.
  4. 2023 World Cup Consolation Match is at 2pm CDT Friday. Argentina v England. Final between South Africa and New Zealand is 2pm CDT Saturday. Both games are on Peacock, not sure if anywhere else. Been some great finishes this year. If you're interest in watching rugby, check it out.
  5. I've been telling my wife since I had COVID in the fall of 2021 that I can't smell anything anymore just to avoid having to answer questions like "Does this chicken smell funny?", "Do you like the smell of this perfume", etc. Too bad there wasn't long-COVID blindness to fake.
  6. nice cell over Lake Buchanan right now.

    Tex Mex

Yeah where the Berryhills was. I never went to Berryhills so have no clue about it or even know what they served. Rarely go to the Jack Allen in that center either. Getting in and out of there from the South is a PITA. Will definitely try the new Fresas, but may take Westlake Drive to get there just to avoid Cap of Tx Hwy.

    Tex Mex

Not necessarily Tex-Mex, but Fresa's just opened at 360/Westlake Drive. Haven't tried that location yet, but their food is damn good (albeit pricy) and their breakfast tacos are legit as well.

    Mediterranean

Thanks Jimmy Jazz. I’ve been meaning to try Yamas since reading it opened but living southwest it’s never convenient and/or I forget about it. Need to book a table and just put it on the calendar. Artemis in Bee Cave is our go to for Mediterranean. Or Arpeggio if we’re up north.
  10. I'm just glad nobody is mentioning Ouray. Definitely don't go there /s
  11. Cow pissing on a flat lake at Horseshoe Bay right now
  12. NZ taking some frustrations out on Namibia over that first game loss to France
  13. Was at the post office in the same center so decided to try it for lunch. Ordered with the app. BLT, Fries and iced tea. Was ready in 5 minutes or so and pick up from the lockers was super easy. They forgot the tea so I had to find an employee to fetch it for me. Got home after a short drive. BLT was fine. Fries were clearly not fresh and soggy so needed re-heating. Full cup of lukewarm iced tea with zero ice (not requested that way). I'll give them a few weeks before going back.
  14. From today's SABJ. Still saying it's in the Bee Cave neighborhood (which I guess is sort of correct [but not really] since that area is known as Bee Cave Woods).
  15. I don't understand why the owner of that center hasn't developed more pads on 290. Or sublease the parking lot to a car dealer.
  16. actually it will just be overcast with smoke from wildfires
  17. My favorite memory of the Hobby Building was right after they acquired it and, needing upgraded A/C because of the huge number of TDI employees they shoved in there, dropped a huge cooling unit right on the sidewalk between the south (adobe) building and 3rd Street because they're the State and can do what they want. You just have to assume that Stratus paid big bucks to get that eyesore moved when they constructed the W.
  18. Just wait until they finally finish the connection of Barton Skyway across the Creek!

    Mexican

Back in 21 I started making reservations at popular restaurants a couple of months in advance (3 or 4 for really difficult ones like Red Ash and Hestia). I just calendar the dates with a reminder popping up a week ahead of time. If we end up having plans I cancel since I know they'll be able to fill the table. More often than not I forget about it until I get the reminder. Helps that we're empty nesters and and most of the time I make the reservations for mid-week and not weekends.

El Alma is fantastic. Suerte and Este are great too, but getting a table on Saturday night at this late date may be difficult.
  21. Talk about burying the lede. You need to expand on this! And I agree with ztejas. I've lived in the hood since 92 (20 years in West Lake Hills proper; shoutout to Mayor Anthony) and before that went to the movies at the building where the Mall Polvos is now (that was sliding down the hill into the Mopac row before being demolished), and it's always been known as being in Westlake. And while I haven't checked lately, Dillards used to own their premises in fee simple like they do in many other regional malls, so I assume that's going to throw a wrench into any redevelopment plans. And I'm really waiting to see what B&O do with Brodie Oaks. That's a cool looking project if they can pull it off.
  22. @YGIFS so is this place ever going to open or what?
