  1. I have no clue. Just saw it when we were picking up Chinatown to go the other night. We ate at the pizza joint (Love Pizza maybe?) during the 2023 Icepocalypse that knocked out power throughout the Westlake area. It looked like it was only a temporary setup on the inside. A good Tex-Mex place with a bar would be a cool addition there. Decent enough parking and Rollingwooders can stumble home.

  3. "Coming Soon" signage is up for a Pepita's Cafe & Bar in the same center as Chinatown in Rollingwood. Anyone know anything about this place?
  4. Crazy finish in the Scotland v France match. Looked like Scotland scored at the end but was called as held up. France wins.

    Tex Mex

Tres Amigos, but that was probably 20 years ago.
  6. In 1983, after finishing up classes my freshman year of college, buddy and I spent a week in the Vail/Beaver Creek area. We played 18 holes of golf one morning and then jumped in our car and drove over to A-Basin and skied in the afternoon (along with many CU coeds skiing in bikinis). Been hard topping that over the years.
  7. In my experience, starting in mid-March the conditions really start to deteriorate in New Mexico. I would never plan on a trip in April. Frankly, now that my kids are grown I don't ski in New Mexico after the first week of March to both avoid the slushy conditions and Texas/Oklahoma spring break. We're going to his Vail in early March and then hopefully Park City the first week of April.
  8. In Angel Fire for a few days. Been coming here for 20+ years. Currently some of the best conditions I've seen in years. 81/82 runs open, which is almost unheard of as 4 or 5 of the black runs (hiking access only) are often not open the entire season. Plus no crowds at all this week. Heading over to Taos in the morning. Conditions there look equally as good and crowns also look pretty thin based on webcams.

    Tex Mex

It's in our regular rotation. Food is fresh, salsa is good and there's rarely a wait. Perfectly fine. Nothing really stands out though.
  10. Yeah. France struggling without Dupont and now a man down with two yellows on their lock. Ireland looking to make this a blowout.
  11. Six Nations starts this weekend. First match is Friday at 2pm between defending champs Ireland and France. France is the oddsmakers favorite this year. All matches will be on Peacock.

    Burgers

Had the burger at Sour Duck today. Damn good burger, but I wasn't a huge fan of the fry sauce. Need to try the chicken sandwich next time. They also have hop water on the menu which was nice for dry January. Anyone tried the burger at Odd Duck? Looks like from the menu that it's a totally different burger than Odd Duck.

anyone tried this place? opinions? Briscuits
  14. Back in the 90s, the hotel on 11th and 35 that is now a Sheraton had a sign mounted on the wall as you walked from the entrance west to Red River that basically said don't go down that way after dark. Surprised that the Driskill hasn't put something like that on a sandwich board outside of the 1886 Cafe. I may miss Gordo's and Joe's Generic, but I ain't going down there anymore except for Pecan Street Festival for people watching.
  15. I don't understand what Dillard's exit strategy is since they own fee title to their store. I guess they just fire sale it back to Simon when they ultimately decide to redevelop.
  16. @YGIFS what's going on at the Wells Fargo in front of Honey Ham? Construction dumpster and Honey Bucket set up today.
  17. Imagine the uproar when they changed Pecan Street to Sixth

if you're around Capital Plaza you should mix in Hill-Bert's every now and then.
  19. what are the patches Dallas is wearing?
  20. I can read that paper much better than I can understand anyone from Glasgow. My Dad took all of us to Scotland on a golf trip in '91 and we spent two nights in the Glasgow area (played Prestwick and Glasgow Gales). We finally started pointing and miming things to the locals. Incredible that their accents were so different than in Edinburgh which is like 50 miles away.
  21. I went to my old frat house before a football game earlier this year for a mini-alumni reunion. Talked to a few of the current actives and pledges. Afterwards it hit me that if alumni my age had visited the house when I was a pledge they would have been a pledge in 1941
  22. It will be a doc in the box or bank. Bookit
