  1. I’m very well versed in logic. Lawyers often not so much
  2. So again not using logic, but lawyering In my shooting him in the face example that hasn’t been proven either. Presumption of innocence right? you do realize presumption of innocence (or guilt) is begging the question?
  3. Why not, if you can argue that extorting a state official to commit election fraud is a duty of the White House chief of staff?
  4. So you agree that shooting the state official in the face during a meeting about “election fraud” in that state would be grounds for removal to the federal court? Because of presumption of innocence and the fact that he was attending the meeting in his official rule as WH chief of staff?
  5. that’s a lot of words to say you agree with me
  6. The problem here is you are applying logic, not lawyering
  7. Of course my example is absurd. I’m using an example that no one could conceivably think is defensible as a legitimate act. I would argue that a crime say of helping the president to extort a state official into election fraud likewise falls outside the scope of his federal duties. I guess we will see
  8. Let’s try this again. If one of the 161 counts was an action that falls within the course of his duties, and one of the 161 counts was shooting Brad in the face, is that murder charge getting kicked to the federal court?
  9. I have lived through several hurricanes; I evacuated for some and stayed for others. I also manned shelters for Katrina evacuees at our church and provided free healthcare for them at Ford Arena for the 4 weeks or so before we got slammed by Rita. Being in a common room with hundreds of strangers on cots with no place to secure your belongings and no way to care for your animals is a tougher proposition than you might think I will say my dad never evacuated for a single one (worked at one of the refineries so was either obligated to be on site or had to be in town on call), but after Rita he said he’d never stay for another. Hit land at Cat 4 and the outer bands had hurricane force winds. 12+ hours of wind > 60 mph with sustained winds > 120 mph for several hours. Their house was built in the 50’s and had withstood numerous storms. He said when the winds were at their worst he could see the internal walls and ceiling flexing in and out like the house was breathing Mother Nature is a bad bitch

    Getting old sucks

Stephen Esses is probably the best in Houston if he’s still in practice. Not the best bedside manner but super smart and great technically and doesn’t operate on everything that walks in his door. I’ll shoot you a PM
  11. You ever stay at a shelter? Or volunteer at a shelter?
  12. You’re going to have to walk me through how the acts he is alleged to have committed, which by the very fact of their being indictable acts are criminal in nature, could be construed as having been done legitimately in the course of his official governmental duties and therefore fall under federal jurisdiction. It strains credulity. put it this way: if this meeting had taken place in Raffensperger’s office, and when he told Trump no Meadows had shot him in the face, would he be able move his murder trial to federal court based on his role as WH chief of staff?

    LBGTQ

It could lodge under the skin and cause a bad infection
  14. I’m trying to think of otherwise criminal acts that are part of a federal officer’s official duties homicide by law enforcement and military personnel anything else?
  15. Does a nondisparagement agreement mean you can’t make true statements about the party if they are damaging?
  16. No. Hospitals require a flu shot for employees

    LBGTQ

Imagine coming to a thread where people are talking about fighting for their right simply to exist, where personal stories of abuse and discrimination have been shared, and where people share stories of relatives and loved ones committing suicide because of how difficult their lives were simply for being different. Now imagine someone posts a graph showing that when social mores regarding a trait considered a stigma changed, there was a sharp increase in the prevalence that trait, and thinking it was clever to post this?
