  1. So, what are your hobbies? Well, I'm very active in an online message board community. Oh, that's cool. Have you made friends through this message board? Oh no. They absolutely fucking hate me and say mean things to me every time I post. In fact, they've asked me to leave 5 times, but what can I say, I'm a sucker for looking like a clown.
  2. Hard to tell if this is an anti-electoral college rant, or a classic example of MAGA brainworms.
  3. Also, let's not forget that the 2017 Chevy Malibu was one of the last models to have both a CD player AND Bluetooth, which is a lot of value that really isn't factored into the Kelley BBV
  4. Not to mention the collateral consequences of this minority position is a bunch of dead Americans, including children who've had their heads blown off. Its not like we're discussing trickle down economics here.
  5. I don't disagree. I will say, as someone who is somewhat embedded with progressive policy wonks, there seems to have been a marked shift in the last 3-5 years towards a model that expands the state's ability to force treatment. Obviously that comes with a massive caveat that such a system have robust due process protections, appeals, right to attorneys, etc.
  6. Right, but it appears that CA is trying to fix the glitch. The below is the CARE act, signed into law by Newsom last fall.
  7. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/health/story/2023-03-01/proposed-bills-could-lead-to-more-mandated-mental-health-treatment Going after the ACLU's "right to die in the gutter" approach.
  8. If you're talking about the Democratic party only in places controlled by the GOP, then yeah, I'd have to concede they're not effective in those places. This
  9. So in the states Dems control, they get gun legislation passed, no problem. In jurisdictions where the number require they get the GOP on board, they get nothing passed. And its still your takeaway that its the Dems' fault?
  10. Did you forget the states that are controlled by Dems and regularly pass gun laws? https://everytownresearch.org/rankings/
  11. These people would be so disappointed to learn that their ideological grandchildren have embraced a theory that JFK will return to lead America back to a time of a conservative, Christian, and white rule.
  12. Sounds like regulating a fundamental right to me . . . .
  13. My understanding is that we cannot have laws like that because some people also want to take away all guns. I know, I don't get it either, I'm just repeating what has been said over and over here by the pro-mass shooting crowd.
  14. We're doing hypotheticals? Nice. Would you feel the same way if it was revealed that George Soros had been maintaining a deep, long-standing personal friendship with Elena Kagen that included years of undisclosed vacationing together on private jets and private yachts. Sometimes, other major Dem donors accompanied them both. Then it was revealed that Soros is "fascinated" by Joseph Stalin and had festooned his library with USSR and Stalin memorabilia. I'm not sure you'd be singing the same tune.
  15. I've been wondering what all of your recruiting fandom origin stories were so thanks
  16. Wait until @Cheeseweasel hears about this. Why just yesterday he proudly exclaimed that the "hill he chooses to die on" is "pushing back on government regulations."
  17. Isn't that Twitter account just a random guy with no more insight than you or I?
  18. One of my favorite things is being in court when I overhear a Sovcit start to argue with the judge. Happens several times a year and really makes my week. They never have attorneys, refuse a public defender, and ask to represent themselves. Its also the only time I feel even the slightest bit of sympathy with prosecutors as they have to deal with these folks as "opposing counsel" for the rest of the case until the judge eventually revokes their pro se status. A lot of them don't make it past arraignment because when the judge asks for their appearance before the court, they wont say their name - I guess they think it establishes jurisdiction over them or something - so they just say things like "your honor, I, a person, am here in full capacity and without reservation . . ." The judge then says "oh, so you're not John Smith? Ok, well, in that case, Mr. Smith was ordered to be here today and seeing how it is now 11am and no Mr. John Smith is present, I am hereby issuing a bench warrant in the amount of $35k for the arrest of Mr. Smith. Next case!" That's followed by a bunch of mumbling and "oh, wait, nevermind, that's me!"
  19. Ok, that's weird, but whatever. Glad we can stop pretending you care about "government regulations" though.
  20. Wow. That's a pretty fucking racist thing to say. Street hoodlums?
  21. Shit, really? Dude, you should swing by the CR sometime. Hell, just from today we have Tennessee moving to expel 3 democratic lawmakers from the State House for protesting, Kansas passed laws allowing state actors to inspect the genitals of children, Texas banning books from public libraries, and Florida attacking a private corporation for protected speech! Oh, and since I assume you're someone who really wants to drain the swamp, Clarence Thomas has been receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of undisclosed gifts from a Billionaire GOP donor. I can't imagine how upset you are about all this!
  22. Weird how the "tough on crime" folks just throw up their hands and say "laws don't stop bad things!" on this one specific issue. And then do everything in their power to defeat even the most mild regulations. I want a gun registration. I said it. You're fine with dead kids. At least be honest about it.
