  1. If I buy, say, a 2009ish F250 and sit it in my driveway... only using it on the weekends for fishing / hunting /hauling: will it fall apart on me? Thinking about selling my off road Wrangler, my 2018 Tundra, and leasing an actual car. The plan would also involve buying an older F250 for hunting and fishing. Just getting tired of my boat hauler, half-ton sized pickup as my daily driver.
  2. These two jabronis wanted their first day of summer to involve AC and unlimited video games. Forecast looked good so I pulled the "self employed Friday" fire alarm. Put them on some trout / smacks. Then some beach time. This is the ride home. Didn't know my buddy's kid was riding without the belt over his shoulder so zip it.
  3. Meh. This is actually a relatively polite / accommodating example of enforcement following an attempted end run around federal regulations. We lived and owned guns for years knowing what a SBR / SBS was. End runs were made and, over time, encouraged by the industry. It started on the fringes but eventually came straight from the mainstream manufacturers. Uncle Sam has a long and storied history of not just letting shit slide. Anyone who grew up in this country should be aware of this. Anyone who moved here as an adult and even occasionally read a newspaper should be aware of this. The tax man cometh. It's not a surprise.
  4. Holy shit I used to spend like every Monday morning reading this thread instead of working. I was a second year owner of a 16' flats boat at the time so I never posted in it. They should store it in the National Archives.
  5. My valve stems were next to the tag. I see some guys mounting them behind the fuel door. I think behind the fuel door would be preferable.
  6. So a couple Fridays ago I ordered a Aqua Terra from Jomashop. They give me a "free fast shipping" deal via a discount code. Spoiler alert: its FedEx ground. Jomashop ships the watch the following week with a scheduled delivery date of Friday. The FedEx tracking follows the package from NYC across the river to New Jersey. Tracking updates stall in NJ around Wednesday of last week. Jomashop link (and FedEx website to be fair) maintains that Friday is the delivery date. I stay at the office all day Friday waiting for the FedEx delivery that never comes. So I go into the weekend without the watch. FedEx updates still have the latest tracking scan at the same facility in NJ. Monday morning I try to contact Jomashop and they're closed Mon and Tues for a religious holiday. I had to Google the religious holiday. Tuesday (yesterday) I can't take it anymore so I call FedEx. I give the package information to a CS representative. Within a half hour I get a call from a FedEx security employee who essentially lets me know that the package was stolen and they weren't surprised based on the history of the NJ FedEx facility which emitted the final FedEx tracking scan. FedEx says they'll look for another scan or delivery within 8 days before they'll declare it lost. Today is Wednesday. I tried Jomashop three different times by phone. First time on hold for 10+ minutes before I had to take another call. Second time I left the automated call back number for my office line. 90min later someone from Jomashop calls but hangs up when my secretary puts her on hold to transfer the call to me. On third call the call back procedure disconnects me when I try to enter my cell number as the call back number. I also sent Jomashop a CS email with no response. So that's where I am. Keep in mind if you consider rolling the dice with a gray market seller.
  7. I put these on a 2010 Ram 1500 and they were awesome. Highly recommend it if you have rear end sag while trailering. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PXKTQ9S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_8929TSGX14DQXQTHDBNF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Paired with a small compressor that runs on (your preferred brand of) drill battery it's super functional. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085DV34VC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_4YC7TQTA6ASJE9H42B2X?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Don't know if I'd pay for the onboard compressor and management system with one of the above.
  8. Jomashop is pissing me off.
  9. Tampa show just got "rescheduled" on me from a Friday night in June to a Wednesday night in September. Deciding whether to just get a refund. That's twice this show has gone away on me. First time was COVID and I get that. But seeing this band live seems to be hard to pin down.
  10. Did you consider the Hogster 35 as an alternative? Was there something that pushed you towards the Pulsar over other, competitive options?
  11. Is it your first thermal? It would be for me... Thoughts? Impressions?
  12. Anyone want to talk me out of a Pulsar Thermion XM30?
  13. LaRue fanboys: is there a yearly sale or something like that? Thinking about buying two QD mounts and want to make it as painless as possible.
  14. Gemtech Tracker 30 just got released from ATF jail and followed me home. Guess I will need to bone up and buy an optic now.
  15. Sounds like a "garden gun" you use with rat shot. For rats, snakes and such. I am a big fan of rat shot from a 22 for descret snake elimination with low collateral damage. I also use rat shot in a 38 (357) for the same task where more noise and potential collateral damage can be accepted.
  16. I had ultimate "ramp guy" experience on Monday. Dude in lifted F250 blaring bro country from some type of exterior speaker system. He was on my radar immediately. He successfully blocked both lanes of a two lane ramp. Once that was accomplished: he removed the tie down straps, transfered gear to/from the truck bed and installed the boat plug while blocking both lanes. This is after pulling through the well-marked staging area. Then he couldn't back the rig down. Eventually he got the Bayliner wet (following an Austin Powers routine in reverse). His girlfriend (not pic worthy) couldn't climb in the driver's seat. The old Mercury "tower of power" wasn't trimmed down because his trailering lock thing was still engaged. So it took forever to get the Bayliner off the trailer. He apparently needed throttle to maintain idle/ignition so he waked up all three docks. Engine got at least 2min of dry run time. Much of it under partial throttle. There were at least four other rigs waiting for the ramp. A solid 10min we'll all never get back. I know this sounds like a BS story but it's 100% accurate. Thought we'd be free from ramp guy fishing on a Monday, but alas, we had an encounter. Dude basically hit through the cycle of boat ramp douchbagery.
  17. I am in need of new kitchen knives and steak knives. I would like to get a block to hold them all but I keep having (knife dork) friends tell me that the knives from block sets are crap. I'd like to keep the whole shooting match under $500 if possible. This is for a family kitchen from which two young kids get fed daily. We do some "fancy cooking" but were are generally not foodies. I am kind of a knife dork in that I use and collect high-end pocket knives and fillet knives. Mrs. Bigshark has no interest in knives generally . Otherwise we need good, honest hardware. Any recommendations?
  18. Marco Island to Key West on 22gal of fuel is not something I'm sure I'd be comfy with. I guess that's why the teams are going to KW and not arcing through Florida Bay. Actually it looks like Team Key West is maybe going to skip the real life Key West.

Easiest way to buy a Pax 2? Order online or go to a local vape shop? If the answer is online: best price / availability?
  20. This was a major motivating factor in unloading my Milgauss up-thread. The buy back with Bob's was completely painless if anyone's interested. If I get back into the Rolex game with a DJ or DJII there's no way I'd ever buy new from an AD.
  21. One phenomena that happens when you buy a gun safe is that all the family guns from all the attics/sock drawers wind up in your safe every time someone moves/dies. If the extended family has cool shit - that's okay. But my extended family apparently shopped the bargain rack. Just climbed down from the attic where I installed gun hooks on the 2/4s and hung: Savage 99 in 300 Savage Remington 760 in 30-06 Stevens 20ga SxS Ithaca 37 in 16ga My gun safe is as big around as a refrigerator and it's jam full of my scoped hunting rifles and various other "family guns".
  22. Bob's just offered me a crazy buy back price on a Milgauss I bought from them about four years ago (posted on the Shag). Seriously thinking about selling now, with anticipation of a Rolex price bubble in mind, and investing in other interests. I own an older Tag Carrera and a Seiko SKX that'll temporarily replace the Milgauss in the office rotation (haven't been to the office in a long time). May buy a discontinued Omega model I've had my eye on for years if I can find one. The ultimate endgame is a Date just or DJII in 41mm. With no weekly office visits it's hard to hold on to a Milgauss that has appreciated 25% in four years when I'm not wearing it. Anyone think I'm crazy?
