  1. I bought my Phoenix 721 from them. Think they’re other bass boat brand was skeeter. Cropped out he portion with a pic of me and my son because I can’t figure out how to just blur our faces.
  2. Yeah this hasn’t been fair. Same thing is happening with my son down at San Marcos. 48 hours without and about 8 with and down again for 12+ hours. Was frustrated with neighbors around us. They not once lost power that I know of. I know because they all had their porch lights on all day and night. They probably didn’t even realize it so I forgave them😁
  3. Yeah, my last house had both water heaters in the attic above the second story. One of the valves on the side (no idea what it's called) failed. So, you have these 2 water heaters on essentially the 3rd story with the drip pans that are required by code and you think you're ok. Nah, this valve caused the water to shoot out sideways. Didn't realize until we had water dripping out of a light fixture in the kitchen on the first floor. Fun times.
  4. My response wasn’t meant to indicate we should pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and go at life alone without government and utilities. They are there for a reason, we fund them for a job to do and they failed us. I agree with everything you stated above. I didn’t read what he said as victim blaming but maybe the tone he used could have communicated that. I’m too tired to go reread what he said. It was just exhausted ramblings and reflecting on what I wish I’d done different.
  5. Henry I needed that. Woke my wife up laughing so hard and she can sleep thru anything. I should have expected that comment. No, not new. I’ve loved this group going back to hornfans.
  6. I get your anger and fear (especially having babies in the house and probably being a first time father you’re very protective) you’ve probably experienced over the last several days, but damn with the fuck yourself part. I think inkas point was missed with the way he said it (I think he even came back to add context and apologized before your response). I wasn’t as prepared for this as I should have been and I have some regret. My oldest is off at college and went 48 hours without power and an extended time without water. I haven’t slept for days due to my worries about him. I wish I would have prepared him better for something like this (they’re fine and have had power and water off and on since this morning). I never thought to advise him to buy candles and his biggest issue wasn’t the 46 degree apartment or no water or no warm food. It was the total darkness all around him. Nothing had power. He just wanted to have a bit of visibility. Talking to him last night he stated that it’s on us to do our best to be prepared and not depend on others and I agree. I mean read these threads. None of us know what we should do regarding our damn faucets. Full blast, stream, trickle, cut off main water at street, should we get out and blast them with blow dryers. I don’t know the best thing to do regarding faucets. I’ve always just wrapped my spigots outside and covered them with the styrofoam covers. Should we all have generators? Should we all carry a set of winter tires? should we all go buy propane heaters? Should we all buy 4x4s? Look at the thread Is pools worth it? Should we all go and no whatever northerners do with their pools during winter? I mean the list goes on. I don’t know, but I’m going to be better prepared next time. The power issue I get. I’m pretty damn frustrated with how our state handled it. Also, hobbs I totally understand where you’re coming from. I just hate this site when we start cussing and hating one another.
  7. They weren’t that bad when the folks who took these pics finally ventured out to take pics of all the “stupid Texans who can’t drive on a wet road”. There were several points where they were all ice. Add in the hills, wind and non winter tires and most of us have never driven in these conditions, I think us dumb Texans did a damn good job (i will say this is all anecdotal as I haven’t watched a bit of news and can only go off my experience. Also, I’m talking about citizens and not the power shitshow.). My neighbor had to get up and drive his nurse wife from Lago vista to westlake every morning at 5 am. Hospital didn’t have enough beds for all the staff to camp there for a week so they gave up their space for others. I had to get out on the roads at daybreak to check on my elderly mother and to help a couple of friends who had to be on the roads for their reasons each day and there were several points that puckered my butthole. Out here and around a lot of the Austin area the hills are a crapshoot(some of which can be long and steep) when they are iced over. The people I helped had very valid reasons to be on the road. Although I quoted your post Minnesota this response isn’t really a response to anything you said. Was just something on my mind sitting here wide awake since 2am.
  8. In Lago vista our rolling on off was 30 on 30 off since dinner yesterday until this morning (very spotty prior to where you had no confidence it was rolling). Then it seemed to roll longer both ways but never went either way more than 2 or 3 hours. But there was some consistency to it and it made me feel like it’s rolling and not this other crap of days with no power. I can’t complain about how things were handled here. My son, however was about 48 hours without power down right by Texas state in student housing. Lives in a domain type area with chuys, hopdoddy, ihop, shopping, all kinds of businesses. They spent all last night in total dark staring at the taco cabana sign and others light up.. right there next to them. Lost power again a while back and they are worried they are about to go thru that all again. So frustrating to see many around you never lose power and you are constantly without power and or water or both.
  9. We may have caught a break last night. Haven’t looked extensively at temps last night, but out here snow is dripping off our roof and sidewalks are mushy with intermittent ice.
  10. In Lago vista we’ve been rolling roughly 30 on and 30 off starting around dinner time last night. Monday night the roll on and off were 1 hour on 2 off. Can’t complain about that. However, my son in apartments in spring town shopping center in San Marcos has been without power since before lunch on Monday. That shopping center has chuys, hopdoddy and all kinds of businesses. The business power was restored last night but not theirs. They also have no water. Haven’t talked to him this morning but if power is still off I will probably go get him. Neighbor just left to take his wife to work (she’s a nurse) all the way in westlake. I’ll talk to him how the drive was. So many hills to get out of town and up to Jonestown that worry me.
  11. Lake Travis this morning. Pretty cool sight.
  12. A couple of times this last month I’ve bought the 2 planks of frozen Luby’s fish patties from H‑E‑B and made my son and I fish sandwiches for lunch (he chose the virtual schooling for the year) and we love them. It’s been an interesting year. I’ve worked from home for years and always just scrounged for lunch. Always been by myself during the day. Having him around for lunch I’ve been having him try things the wife would never go for dinner.
  13. I like that bronze vinyl. Here’s my centurion.
  14. I believe his girl is trapped in Brazil due to the travel restrictions so I hope anal is off the table. But I guess he could be lonely.
  15. I haven’t seen it since I don’t FB but I believe it’s a meme for essential as it relates to the covid shelter in place.
  16. I agree. I’ve only watched a few UM games this year and was never impressed with their qb. How can you be Jim Harbaugh and not be able to recruit a high level qb to UM?
  17. It’s been a while since I posted a pic let’s see if this works https://ibb.co/3fVwXXw
  18. We recently traded in our tige for a centurion. Planning to go out tomorrow.
