  1. Vaqueros up 63-0 in the 4th
  2. Prosper hangs on and upsets Westlake 29-22 SOC is beating North Shore 35-19 in the 4th. Shocking to everyone but me
  3. Salter is one of those QBs that’s way too proud to take easy rushing yards
  4. Wouldn’t expect much out of Livingstone or my Sanchez INT pipe dream honestly. Michigan laid the formula down the past few years, to beat Ohio State you run it into their teeth and then run it again and again until they submit. Is Sark smart/confident enough to try that this time? I don’t know that we had the personnel or matchups last year for it but I think we do now.
  5. I’m not predicting anything, but I *feel* like we are going to overwhelm them. They have arguably the best overall college player this season in Smith but for the first time in a long time the rest of the team is lacking. He can’t do it alone. I also kind of hope Devin Sanchez gets an (inconsequential) pick at somepoint, I’ve followed his career a while and it would be cool to see him announce himself in such a big game. Hopefully Arch can toss it all over the field besides that though.
  6. Remember when the PGA tour thought they could ignore LIV? This is the exact same thing, and the MLB would be wise to explore some collaboration or partnership imo.
  7. SA scores of note: Johnson - 45 Judson - 7 Johnson is legit but the dismal tide continues for Judson, staring down the barrel of an unthinkable 5th straight losing season. Laredo Alexander - 48 SA Marshall - 14 Priest Holmes weeps.
  8. PSJA North was missing their starting QB and still beat San Benito 49-14.
  9. No offense but MMA had a rep in town while I was growing up of just being a school for fuck ups from rich families. It seems to have shaken that nowadays but yeah the days of 19 and 20 year olds on their roster are long gone. A couple years ago the Harlingen JV beat the MMA varsity squad. I don’t even think MMA has a JV team anymore.
  10. We can only dream. I think we’ll be salty the 2 years after this one, but it’ll be a slog this season.
  11. TX High school football kicks off today, meaning it’s Helobious Poll time: 1. PSJA North - Fully operational valley death star. They don’t rebuild anymore they just reload, with abnormal size and speed for an RGV team. They appear to have built up an efficient youth and middle school football recruiting operation as well, conveniently getting a lot of talented kids ready to play as freshmen. 2. Los Fresnos - Returning a 4 year starter and Mexican Michael Vick at QB in Robert Piñeda, they’ve got offensive firepower to hang with a lot of teams. Gave Buda Johnson all they could handle in a close playoff loss last year. 3. Edinburg Vela - The sun is setting on the Vela empire, but this time I mean it. Solid team returning, but they’re replacing a QB as well. Defense should be stout. 4. Weslaco - added sophomore transfer Malachi Rodriguez from rival East high. He’ll add to their mix of offensive weapons alongside Chris Luna. 5. Brownsville Vets - Need to replace a really good QB, but should have a great defensive unit. Also gave NB Canyon all they could handle in a 3 point playoff loss last year. Darkhouse: McAllen HS. They’ve got decent size up front and some playmakers, they could be an unfun team to play come postseason.
  12. I actually watched his manifesto video. The guy was apparently trans, wanted to kill trump, was obsessed with guns, obsessed with mass shooters, praised far-right politician Brandon Herrera, and had multiple anti-Semitic and racist things written on his weapons and cartridges, including “6 million wasn’t enough”. Definitely an ideological wild card. Above all you could tell he was an edgelord that viewed himself as really cool and funny.
  13. Look at his stats and tell me to my face he was a great college QB.
  14. Laguna: “Simms was overrated” Also Laguna: “Eric Crouch was a great QB”
  15. Ehlinger’s game-ending pick in OT vs Oklahoma state his freshman year is still the worst throw I have ever seen a QB make given the circumstance.
