  1. Despite letting Jennings get beat on the last TD, Sterns is much better deep against the pass than he is coming up to stop the run. He is the opposite of B Jones. Also remember it took B Jones until his 3rd year to take good angles. Sterns will be fine, but he has hit the freshman wall. Malik last year was able to make the plays required of the Mac linebacker. Remember how often we showed a light box and invited the run, and somehow still stopped it for minimal gain. The defensive structure is capable of working, but right now it is not. That is on both the players and the coaches. The problem for the coaches is they have repped this scheme and not other schemes. If you decide to scrap it and go to something else, it isn't guaranteed to work. 4 DL might help, but it also might cause more mistakes as gap responsibilities have changed. Having said that, I hope the coaches realize that Tech and ISU are perfectly capable of exploiting the current defense. At least make Kliff beat you with something other than 7 ypc on the ground.
  2. That was all on Wheeler. Shuffle shuffle shuffle, watch guy run by.
  3. Hopefully we are at the "tie goes to the younger guy" point in terms of playing time.
  4. Did Carter also tell LSU and Alabama that he is solid to aggy but wanted a free trip to the games, and they were cool with that even though there are a limited number of official visits the school can host?
  5. OU called the "Defense doesn't cover the best WR" play

    Oklahoma @ TCU

Is their offensive line that good, or do they get away with a bunch of holding?
  7. Last year the defense held them to 29. If we do that again, do we win?
  8. Kentucky being good just shows how deep and tough the SEC is, which makes every loss to a SEC team basically like beating a non-SEC team.
  9. Each team should be allowed to submit replays of calls they feel were missed, and the league office should have to respond with agree/disagree and an explanation. Make those number public and any bias will become clear.
  10. What about this scenario. A current aggy commit ends up signing with Texas. He plays in 2019. Then in the summer of 2020, a video is obtained by the NCAA from the summer of 2018 of Jimbo handing him a bag with $50,000 in cash, and the audio has the player saying "I agree to accept this money in exchange for signing with Texas A&M". I understand the player and Jimbo would be in trouble. Would Texas be in trouble? Would those game he played in be potentially forfeit and Texas have sanctions? Does the school accept responsibility for their players actions even though they were not involved in the impropriety?

So...Mehringer is going to call the plays?
  12. Of course. But the question is, if a team is recruiting a player cleanly, and they find out or suspect he is being recruited dirty by another team, can they still recruit him cleanly with no worries or do they have to back away?
  13. Remind me again how this works. Player (or family or associate) accepts benefit from someone associated with Team A. Player then goes on to sign with Team B. In this scenario I am certain that both the Player and Team A can be penalized. But does Team B also have liability?

    Army @ Oklahoma

Watching the ESPN win probability chart go from 98.5% OU at the beginning of the game to 53.5% OU now is free.
  15. Equal. Offsetting penalties, replay the down.
  16. I'm looking forward to potentially 8 Jr/Sr starters on offense and 10 on defense. If the younger guys play it will be because they are too talented.
  17. None of those have a whiny, sweaty tone to them...guess Patterson was not available.
  18. I thought they put all the SEC players names in a hat and then draw randomly, but maybe you are right.
  19. He should go to UT San Antonio, since they had a DL drafted in the first round.
