  1. Anyone know the call as far as how the heat may affect possible game cancelations? I can't imagine they'll let my high school play their day game next Saturday w/ a forecast temp of 105.
  2. @crash_davis is correct. The older you get, the mellower the sounds. In the 90s you could not have convinced me that I'd listen to the downlow stuff. You would have had to pry The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, and Crystal Method from my cold, dead hands. My latest phase consist of DJ sets in beautiful places. Beautiful DJs help as well. Here's two. The latter looks exactly like what my wife looked like when we met - minus the green hair. First song here is amazing. Dammit. I'll have to post later. I'm getting an error msg on YouTube's end per embedding.
  3. Thinking about taking the boy to the Duncanville game next Fri since Garland plays on Sat. Anything I need to know? Specifically, will I be able to walk up and purchase tickets? I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I drove to a random HS game a few years ago, and was unable to get in.
  4. This. I coached HS girls soccer and club soccer in TN. There was not a lot of mixing between the two. Girls on club teams considered the fall (girls play in the fall in TN) as a time to take a break. Clubs wouldn't want their players to play HS; at least if they were elite players. I was surprised at how little I was asked to facilitate between potential colleges/scholarships and my HS team. I think I only wrote two letters of recommendation the three years I coached in HS. My daughter played club soccer, but wouldn't even consider HS. She got a bunch of offers, but picked her major over soccer. Funny side note. She got a couple of looks, but no offer, from Angela Kelly who was coaching TN at the time.
  5. I'm not on here to thread shit or whatnot, but I really, really hated this series. I saw it as the aggy roller coaster. Lots of hype, pretty cool at the beginning, then WTF happened? Isabelle whoring her ass all over the plains, her stupid accent, her stupid voiceovers, dry humping under a tornado? Perhaps I read the wrong history book, but I see no way in which everyone was just cool with the white girl hooking up with the Native American in 1883. I like Yellowstone a lot, but I fully recognize how much it has gone downhill lately. I really liked 1923 as well. But, man, 1883 was not great IMO. Now that I think about it, it reminded me of that Texas Revolution series that came out 10 something years ago. Texas Rising. I couldn't wait to see it. It kind of started ok, then went WAY off the rails. To add, I agree with @WBT. The cinematography and acting was really good.
  6. So my wife is obsessed with estate sales, Disney, and Legos. She has a Whatnot store in which she does make a decent profit considering it's more of a hobby than a necessary income stream. Problem is, she continues to buy far more things than she sells. Our study is full of this crap; so is the bedroom. Lately, it's becoming tad effing ridiculous. After telling her she needs to sell at least half this shit before buying anything else, she reassured me with the following: "Since the money I used to buy this stuff is no longer in the account, I've decided that anything I sell is just profit at this point." I told he I sucked at AP economics, but after spending a couple of years in McCombs, I am pretty sure that's not how this works.
  7. Tornado scene?
  8. Last time I checked, this wasn't on any of my streaming devices. Now I see it on Hulu. Thx for the heads up. Son and I are starting it now. I mean, after the Cowboy game
  9. Got it. Promenade was by Pipe Organ's Pizza then. The other one was by Bill's. I also recall the giggles as the "other theater" was next to a bakery that had adult themed candy and cupcakes. Happened to a couple of friends and me at some dollar theater, perhaps the one from the OP, in Houston. Wayne's World 2. Entire case spilled, rolled, and shattered on the way down the incline.
  10. You're correct. I believe the dollar theater was at Coit and Beltline. $1 came later at Promenade. Same mall as Bill's Records, yes?
  11. Promenade Theater (Richardson) up in here. My parents used to drop us off for "alone time". Awesome for Raiders; not so great for *The Right Stuff. *Much better movie to watch as an adult.
  12. Yep. I threw my coffee table off the balcony.
  13. These days are far more fun than the days when I was in school and got excited about the 54th best player in DFW. (Applies to both football and basketball.) Olds from Dallas might recall the DMN Top 100 National, State, and local lists. The pickings were very slim for us back then.
  14. Too soon. Didn't Bowden show up in a helicopter to help seeing things?
  15. The 20th day meal is a junkyard on this season.
  16. Lulz. I was WAY off. I saw them opening presents. I thought she went into the recently empty room of a family member that had passed.
  17. Jesus. I have no idea what's going on, and it got me anyway.

Cremaschi. The announcer said he was a home grown from Miami. I wasn't implying that he was as good, or will be as good, as Grealish. He just looked like he legitimately belonged on the same pitch as some of the international stars.

Yeah. That was odd. The coach took out both scorers, and left Ferreria in. Left Lletget in too long. Nipple still sucks. Watch the two aforementioned on Miami's 2nd goal. Complete disaster covering the right side of the defense. Pomykol did ok until the pk. Also, funny to hear the coach talking about his box defense that was shutting Messi down during the water break. All that aside, that was really fun to watch. I have no idea how these things project, but the American Grealish was pretty good.
  20. I get that, hence the 'hobby" part.
  21. For those of y'all doing this more as a hobby (like me), the Whatnot app seems to be a good tool. It's kind of like a live eBay. My wife has a store from which she sells Disney and Harry Potter stuff. With shipping, which is usually a couple of bucks, one will sometimes hit on something that can be found a tad cheaper on normal venues; however, there are a couple of advantages. First, it is an auction, so you don't have to pay more than what you think it's worth. Secondly, the hosts have giveaways throughout the show. You don't have to buy anything to enter a giveaway. The rooms I peruse usually have less than 100 people, so the odds aren't bad. Thus far I've purchased 3, 1-oz silver coins for $96 (includes shipping). This is close to what it would cost at JM Bullion, assuming you're not buying in bulk. Lol. After rereading, it sounds like I'm trying to sell some scam. I promise it's legit.
  22. Effing domestic violence.
  23. Whelp. My dumbass alma mater scheduled its first game as a day game ... on August 26th.
