  1. Maybe this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Wilderness
  2. Snuck away from work today for a matinee. Thought it was great. As others have said, the acting was great, particularly when you consider the inexperience of the two leads.
  3. I had no idea BTAC was releasing today. I planned to run by the Bunker Hill Spec's on my way home from work and pick up a liter of Early Times BiB. Is it going to be a shit show?
  4. Bought an Oculus Quest 2 for my wife and me for Christmas. We bought the Walking Dead game, Thrill of the Fight, and some Star Wars games that were on sale. So far, all of the games have been awesome. The Walking Dead game is really immersive, and the boxing game is a legitimate workout. I'm in pretty good shape, and after three two-minute rounds I was sweaty and out of breath.
  5. Goode Co. Cantina on I-10 has some.
  6. Been making nog for a few years now. Thinking of making some coquito this year too. Anyone tried it?
  7. 1883 is streaming now. I'll probably watch it this afternoon. Cautiously optimistic it will be a toned down version of Yellowstone.
  8. Tried Daddy Duncan's last Friday. Worth a stop if you are in the area on a Friday or Saturday night. Unfortunately, it looks like Los Muertos closed permanently.
  9. Yeah, he's only open Friday and Saturday from 6:00 - 10:00 pm. Very odd hours for a BBQ place.
  10. Went to Daddy Duncan's in Katy last Friday. Brisket was very solid. Not as good as Truth, but damn good. The beef cheek barbacoa was fine. Also tried the collard greens, which were very good. They have smoked oxtails and pork belly burnt ends on the menu. I'll give those a shot next time. Definitely worth a stop if you ever find yourself in Katy on a Friday or Saturday evening.
  11. I'm more forgiving of the nonsense in this show than some of you, but this was ridiculous.
  12. Yep. Lyla all day. But Ms. Coach is ahead of both.
  13. Tried Dozier's for the first time Saturday. The brisket had an unusual flavor. It was very peppery and had some other spice in the bark as well. The jalapeno cheese sausage tasted like something you could buy at a grocery store, and the pork ribs were dry. The collard greens and green beans were good. I don't think I'll go back.
  14. If you ever find yourself in Missoula, Notorious P.I.G. has decent Kansas City style BBQ. Ribs and burnt ends are decent as is the deviled egg potato salad.
  15. Oops. I am all hopped up on coffee and nervousness/excitement. Need to start drinking to take the edge off.
