  1. I have a house in the country that has some interesting design aspects. The hot water flows along several exterior walls to several places until it finally gets to the kitchen. When we have a hard freeze, you’d better believe I drip both.
  2. Cross-posted from the HS thread because it’s applicable for this reply:
  3. Yes. I only drive outside of the US if I absolutely have to.

    Shit My Kid Says

    Future jacked-up F250 driver there.
  6. I’ve driven on 5 continents, in some of the lowest-developed countries in the world. They all have bad traffic, and all have bad manners in traffic. In most of those countries, signs and limits are purely decoration. But once you get used to the informal rules of the road in any of those countries, they’re fairly predictable and you can be reasonably safe. IMHO, the problem in Houston (lived there for 20 years) is that people from all those countries, plus ignorant Americans, are thrown together with no common understanding of what the informal rules are. They all try to use the informal rules from wherever they came from, but all of those informal rules are different. You have no idea if the guy approaching from a cross street is going to respect the sign or traffic signal. You have no idea what the expectations are for merging. It’s a complete crapshow.
  7. Where's the right-handed hammer /Army They’re still looking for the left-handed shovel.
  8. Life hack going forward. Shape a small cup-like thing with tinfoil in your disposal drain. Pour grease into that cup. Close tinfoil up, let it cool, put it in the trash. No need for a nasty grease jar, etc.
  9. E Company, 506th regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, under the command of Major Dick Winters and Captain Ronald Spiers. Kidnappers are beyond screwed. They’re dead and they don’t even know it. Yes, we finished Band of Brothers last night. I’ve watched it 3X, but Mrs NNM had never seen it.

  11. Not dumbass at all. I tip my hat to that good man.
  12. The blockbuster of the 2020s.
  13. I think it’s a dramatization. There weren’t any cameras around when they imploded.
  14. Sound up. So, so stupid, but I literally LOLed.
  15. Why does Miley bother wearing a top, everybody in the world has seen all she has. Note: we’re not impressed.
  16. Well, I got two double bogies the last two days. The words weren’t all that unusual though—I’m just thick. Other than that I think it’s about the same. You’re just going through a tough stretch.
  17. The organization that I serve with has operations in Africa. Toilets are fun in the interior of Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Benin, Madagascar, Liberia, Ivory Coast, etc.
