  1. It will be something to keep an eye on going forward to see how many disasters like this, or possible terrorist attacks, we start seeing with a gutted TSA and other federal aviation safety entities.
  2. Americans cited limited resources as a reason undocumented immigrants should be deported. Wow. While at the inauguration there were 5 men with nearly a combined $1 trillion dollars, who pay almost no tax whatsoever, and in return get nothing but free federal grant money and contracts in the billions, standing right behind the new president. Also there was a corrupt preacher Sewell, who afterwards started shilling his own pump and dump shit coin. And they blame immigrants for "limited resources". That's like getting pissed off the corporation you work for is cutting salaries by 30% and blaming it on the ladies that come overnight to clean the office building. The stupidity to even entertain something like this is revolting. I can't imagine a more Orwellian image than this past inauguration.
  3. Thousands is probably way too high, but I'm sure it's been navigated before many times. Although given rot tends to travel from the top down, it might be a more frequent occurrence with the DOD than it's been before.
  4. But then you have to spend all summer, every summer, living constantly on the road playing a boring ass game, that takes 3 to 4 hours, 5,6, or sometimes even 7 days a week. Plus, baseball is much more of a specific skill required sport than football and harder to make it to the major leagues at all, much less be a guy commanding top dollar like Ohtani. It, along with hockey, are the major American sports where raw athleticism doesn't go nearly as far on it's own. You can make the NBA and NFL pretty reliably with elite athletic traits and size, not as true for the MLB or NHL.
  5. Didn't they have a girl that barely survived falling off a bus stop awning or something after their SB win?
  6. Radcliffe? Or Gabbard? Please oh please be Gabbard and the BBC just mixed up the info
  7. That's the most insane thing ever. They've gotta be emotionally traumatized for life if they pull through.
  8. Oh, please tell me there were some politically important people in that chopper.
  9. All the regular pilots were recently fired
  10. Landed 45 min ago is one way to put it. Not what I was hoping to see right after putting my daughter on her first flight this afternoon
  11. This thread was perfect. Of course it's Rex Kramer and Futureman, 2 beacons of morality, who took issue with my denouncement of glorifying this criminal and attempted murderer. They couldn't have illustrated my point to perfection any better if they tried.
  12. Hey, since you're an ignorant racist with a room temperature IQ who has no idea how government works... how about you make yourself useful and tell us where to get the coupons and reward points for cheap vacations
  13. I'm not talking about it coming from the people. I'm talking about other politicians or big political players. Every time a regime is toppled or a democracy is overthrown there's no shortage of powerful people angling to seize power. Especially if Trump keeps going full vendetta on people like Miley, stuff like that could cause a coalition of political players to rise against him and overthrow him before he gets too entrenched.
  14. He can already do that now if the government is just allowing them to blatantly ignore a federal judge's ruling. There's no law at that point. He can deploy the military on Americans now, unless someone steps up to kill/imprison him and his top people and seizes power. I find it hard to believe a power the size of the USA wouldn't have a fight for control once it's established that the rule of law is gone. Get the secret service on your side and a few military generals and have him, Vance, Miller, etc killed and seize control. I wonder who could be in position to do that? It could even be someone from within his own party
  15. What's the point of calling for martial law? He's already doing whatever he wants and ignoring the laws of the land. He's already staging a full insurrection in plain sight 1 week in if that's true they just ignored the federal judge's order. It's already past that point. It's now to the point he's either going to be the dictator or he gets overthrown and someone else seizes power with the backing of the military. That's where we are.
  16. Yeah, he decided in the "tomorrow" of that post so it was accurate. Not sure what point you're trying to make
  17. At what point does a group of oppositionists gather and attempt a violent coup? One week in and they are already just ignoring the law. It's already an insurrection, and the only chance to stop it is to kill/arrest them and seize power. That's where we are right now
  18. According to Burton the UT add/drop day is tomorrow. I didn't know what's Georgia's day. If he's not deciding today or tomorrow he isn't coming here
  19. I fully expect "my team" bias for insignificant stuff like a program you root for cheating in recruiting or spying on the opposing team. But to see it here with a guy who facilitated the deaths and harm to undocumented amounts of people? That ran a market that absolutely did harm to Americans? And allegedly tried to have a couple of people murdered? Just because he used to post around these parts and is a longhorn fan? This is a moral depravity I probably should have expected from some of you given where we are as a country right now, but it's still disturbing. I wouldn't want to associate with this psychopath for one second.
  20. I'm sure getting into a tariff war and pissing off the world will do wonders for the ability for any regulations to actually have an effect. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't have at least a few allies hedging their bets and getting cozy with the Chinese just in case. The US can no longer lean on political stability and fair treatment of allies to maintain soft power and influence with the country alternating between normalcy and madness every 4 years. Another OpenAI safety researcher quit. What is that, like half their alignment team over the last couple of years? What the hell are they doing? The aptly named Steven Adler left this month and had this to say: "An AGI race is a very risky gamble, with huge downside,” he said. “No lab has a solution to AI alignment today. And the faster we race, the less likely that anyone finds one in time.” Alignment is the process of keeping AI working toward human goals and values, not against them. Welcome to the Jungle, indeed
  21. There's a fairly large development that was started before Christmas on the land just outside my neighborhood. I've noticed for about 2 weeks now there hasn't been any work done at all. Just a bunch of concrete and equipment sitting there
  22. I wish we could get some replacements in this corrupt fucker

Gotta say, almost 4 years is way longer than I imagined
  24. Or government assistance/benefits programs. Or inflation. Or immigration. Or deficit spending. Or how to adequately search any legitimate info on trump and republicans at all. Wasn't the the dude that would coupon clip and sign up for charge cards for discounted trips? Maybe he should stick to talking about that.
