  1. Obviously I wouldn't offer Wilson big money. It was a hypothetical asking the question "how much worse would the team be?" How much worse say for 2 years with Wilson and how much worse 3+ years from now if they believe Lance can be developed Jordan Love style.
  2. Seriously asking this... Do you have severe reading comprehension issues? You seem to not grasp very basic wording and misconstrue simple statements into completely irrelevant, off the wall things. I'm asking because if you do have a learning disability or otherwise something that causes it outside of your control I'll take that into account. My point was the final score was not at all indicative of how poorly the team as a whole played. The only things that kept this from being an embarrassing blowout were pretty good first half defense and Abmas being insanely hot in the first 30 minutes of the game. Cannot count on any 1 player being that hot from the field in the tournament. They would have to play a lot better and more consistently as a team to even get out of the 8-9 game.
  3. If they cut Dak and signed Russell Wilson's washed up ass for 2 seasons while getting Trey Lance ready to start how much worse would they be?
  4. If Abmas isn't putting up 28 or so pts in the first 30 minutes of the game where is the scoring coming from? They defended fairly well for the first half then went to sleep defensively in the 2nd half. They had a double digit lead with a little over 11 minutes left In the game and were down double digits with a minute+ left.
  5. Unfortunately I see this as the best case scenario for this team in March: Win the 8-9 game and play a game a lot like tonight against the #1 seed. If Abmas is hot and the team is shooting well they can build a first half and early 2nd half lead on a 1 seed. But inevitably they will fold and blow it in the final 10-15 minutes. They did against Miami after Carr went out last year and they did it tonight after Disu went out. I just don't think they're put together nor coached well enough to upset a 1 seed. Just won't happen, and barring a big time run to a Big 12 tournament title they'll be an 8 seed most likely.
  6. Abmas going nuts in the first 30 minutes kept that from being a KU Type blowout.
  7. No but Carr did and when he went down the team lost focus and collapsed to a loss
  8. No clean offensive sets, just holding the ball and throwing up wild off balance shots. They've completely lost their focus in this one
  9. Everybody else has already raged smashed your wife so you could just go there
  10. It's the Miami game all over again. They're going to collapse and blow it after seeing the Disu go down like that
  11. Well there goes any shot in the tournament if he's not right within 2 weeks
  12. Need to use that time out to get their shit together. Very bad defensive breakdowns over the last five possessions
  13. What a time it would be for Hunter to finally decide to fucking let the nuts hang and play some ball.
  14. Very solid first half. Couldn't be in a much better place, just have to finish it off
  15. It would be a failure since their expectation is what they've accomplished recently. Hurley would be the first to tell you this I'm sure. You people seem to be getting hung up on the word failure and putting a connotation that doesn't belong there. Your at best rudimentary understanding of the word failure apparently has you believing a failure can only be catastrophic. That black and white misunderstanding is what seems very juvenile in nature.
  16. My counter to this is that Rodney Terry's complete shitting of the bed in recruiting and below average success in portal recruiting combined with mediocre coaching performance is what has this program in the position to be a low at large bid seed. If he had performed his job properly the way Sarkisian does with the football team they would not be in this position right now. Therefore, failure to at least match last season's production and standard fall at his feet since he has total control of the program.
  17. It absolutely would. That scenario would constitute regression from the program's mark of success from the previous year so by definition would constitute failure. Would the season be considered a total failure in that scenario? Of course not. That's why I delineated degrees of failure. A small failure to perform up to the mark the program set 12 months ago wouldn't be cause for alarm or reason to fire the coach. If Sark and the football team go 9-3 in their first SEC season and miss the playoffs it would also be a small degree of failure since it does not reach the level of productivity established for the program 12 months prior. Now if they go 6-6 then it would be total failure. As far as your comparison to the history of Texas basketball, that is completely invalid now due to the seismic shift and how the sport operates. The portal and basically unregulated NIL of the current era is significant for the richest athletic department in the country. With those parameters and this university's resources there is zero excuse for either of the men's money sports to be inexperienced or lacking in talent in any season. Texas basketball should never, under these parameters and rules, be in a position where it is a bubble team. Expectations need to be adjusted for this.
  18. 3 games is a pretty big difference, especially given the difference in conference record. But it's also why I said wait the next 3 weeks. The next month overall will determine whether Terry was a success or failure this season. If this 2 game streak is truly a gelling of the team and they make another run to the elite 8 or better then it's a success. If they fall short of that it's a step back from the previous season and a failure. The degree to which it's a failure depends on how bad the result ends up being. A sweet 16 run is a small failure compared to where they were a year ago, and losing out then getting bounced in the first round is a huge failure.
  19. Name 1 top 2 seed that would be wary of playing us. Then describe in detail exactly what matchup nightmares we present to those teams to make that statement true. This team has finally played 2 solid back to back games in conference after playing a complete garbage level non conference schedule. So for the first time all season they actually looked competent against quality competition 2 games in a row. That's a function of poor coaching. This team isn't so devoid of talent and experience at the CBB level that they should be so inconsistent in their execution. If I were you I'd let the next 3 weeks play out before going to suck RT off over the first good stretch of 2 games he's coached HIS team to play. Last season was a Beard team built by Beard and prepared by Beard. RT just kept the wheels on long enough to make an elite 8 run. This season is HIS team.
  20. No 1 or 2 seed will be wary of playing us at all. We're decent talent wise but with some glaring holes, aren't very deep, and will have one of the worst P5 coaches in the tournament. There are probably several potential 7-10 seeds the top seeds would rather avoid before us.
  21. Welcome to the tournament fellas. We're in Nice to see a 2nd straight game where they closed the final 10 minutes strong. Maybe, just maybe they're finally finding form on the defensive end and glass to go with Abmas, Disu, and now Weaver's offense. Just keep it rolling on Monday.
  22. Is it coincidence this chick looks like Nicole's picture?
  23. Singapore? That wasn't a thigh. It was a dick
