  1. A 25-year-old engineer named Marko Elez, who previously worked for two Elon Musk companies, has direct access to Treasury Department systems responsible for nearly all payments made by the US government, has resigned from from his post in the Trump administration. The WSJ is reporting that he was the author of social media posts that called for the abolishment of the civil rights act, and a return to racism and eugenics. Why would the FOTUS associate with these kind of people? https://www.wsj.com/tech/doge-staffer-resigns-over-racist-posts-d9f11a93
  2. You stupid sons a bitches, you! They didn't vote for Trump because they believe Trump is the best candidate," Osama Siblani, publisher of The Arab American News, told Politico. "No, they voted for Trump because they want to punish the Democrats and Harris." "It's clear as day that he's playing us," Alawieh added of Trump. "I think he's going to target us. That's what he's going to do. He's going to target our families, and it's going to hurt. So, I think we're about to find out."
  3. Riding around in your car with a gun is an offensive act. A man died needlessly because a young kid had a gun and an opportunity to use it: https://www.yahoo.com/news/fort-worth-road-rage-shooting-033353244.html
  4. I’m not sure how comfortable we should be calling ourselves a stable democracy when 92 million eligible Americans refused to vote in the last election.
  5. Arab Butter Biscuits. Who knew? Michigan’s Arab American community offers muted response to Trump’s Gaza takeover plan https://apnews.com/article/trump-arab-americans-michigan-gaza-plan-6014edae5196aa5bc2c1681452ec4cf8
  6. I think it’s beyond disgraceful that the parents of the female co pilot of the Blackhawk felt it necessary to release their dead daughter’s resume just to keep the FOTUS from publicly disparaging her for being his DEI culprit.
  7. He did. He also mentioned that most of the people to whom he was preaching are acquainted with the price of resistance, and that it is a price worth the cost.
  8. I got a fresh wind recently as regards the need to resist all that we see happening around us. Filter out the religious piece of this if you must, but I learned about Augustus Landmesser and the ability of love to empower in yesterday’s sermon. Augustus was a Nazi, who over time began to understand the evils of Hitler’s regime. Once he fell in love with a Jewish woman, he found his strength to love so empowering, he was able to resist evil, when standing in the midst of it. (SEE PHOTO IN LINKED ARTICLE) As one might guess, the message that love can/should animate and empower us, is what one might expect to hear in church, it has application even outside of sacred spaces. Love of this country’s ideals should move us to fight this hostile takeover with everything at our disposal. https://www.businessinsider.com/the-lone-german-man-who-refused-to-give-hitler-the-nazi-salute-2015-6
  9. By any generally accepted definition of traitor, Snowden is one. Why couldn’t she just say she agreed with what he did, but he is most definitely a traitor.
  10. Told ya. He’s hurting them for their own good. Chuckle, these cons, I tell ya…
  11. Lord. I tremble at the thought of the kind of stuff that will be in this thread before it’s over.

  13. I never thought I’d live to see the day…
  14. The elderly who depend on these costly drugs for survival, will reluctantly come to the conclusion that the monster they voted for is doing this for their ultimate good.
  15. In response to President Donald Trump's executive order banning diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, the Pentagon's intelligence agency has paused special event programs and related events, including for Juneteenth, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Black History Month, Holocaust Days of Remembrance and Pride Month, according to a memo obtained by ABC News. Quite in keeping with a bunch who doesn’t see color.
  16. Defense secretary revokes security detail and clearance for Trump critic Gen. Mark Milley, orders investigation. https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/28/politics/mark-milley-security-detail-pulled/index.html His official portraits have been removed. Trump is a demon.
  17. Shrink it to what, specifically?
  18. Trump deported fewer people than Obama, Clinton or Bush, but more indiscriminately https://english.elpais.com/usa/2024-11-19/trump-deported-fewer-people-than-obama-clinton-or-bush-but-more-indiscriminately.html
  19. I fully expect there to be a re-examination of the Dred Scott decision. Nobody but white people will be safe.
  20. The Washington Post reported Sunday, citing four people with knowledge, that Trump officials have directed ICE officials to arrest 1,200 to 1,500 people a day, up from a few hundred. That $12 Iceberg lettuce is on its way.
  21. Because guns have more value than people in America. Duh.
  22. Based on what we’re seeing across the country tonight, Republicans appear poised to to win this battle and lose the war.
  23. Trumps base is very flexible. When nobody can make sense of what he says or worse, can defend it, they reflexively pivot to pay attention to what he means, rather than what he says.
  24. I’ve never quite understood the arrogance of some who claim to be Christian who feel it is their place to critique prayers that are not being prayed to them. How does that work, exactly?
  25. The end is overdue. We were told it would end yesterday.
