  1. K-State is still in a better position than Purple Baylor or Baylor Classic.
  2. Okie State to the PAC makes sense. I feel like K-State is probably slightly better academically than Tech, but by every other metric, Tech would seem to be the much more attractive candidate.
  3. The past month for U.S. foreign policy has been a massive nut kick.
  4. I was wondering this too. Is there a 2020s-version of the Northern Alliance or something out there?
  5. This third season is pretty rough.
  6. Nobody watched this morning before work? USA beats South Korea 7-2. Advances to gold medal game Saturday morning at 5am.
  7. Don’t tug on Superman’s cape, Aussies.
  8. This tournament's format seems very unstable. DR has now lost twice in the "knockout round," including its initial game in a losers' bracket. Shouldn't they be completely eliminated with the next US-Korea game loser getting bronze and the winner playing Japan for gold? DR now gets an extra day rest to play for a medal.
  9. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I'd rather see Tech take Mizzou's spot only because of the secondary rivalry we have with them.
  10. That gives them 15. Who's #16? Iowa State? Someone from the ACC or Pac? Mizzou??
  11. NBC Sports App. You should be able to download it from any smart tv, roku, or from the app store.
  12. Yes. The mayor made the announcement Friday evening, and by Saturday, everyone was requiring one to be worn indoors, sometimes even while I had a drink in my hand.
  13. "How great would it be to have the Stanford women playing in Waco?" Oh man. I don't think I can even fathom anything better.
  14. And now they're bitching about the PUF. Get fucked.
  15. Anyone else feel like Whitmire would blow Bowlsby right now if he would accept UofH?
  16. So I went to New Orleans over the weekend for my last single friend's bachelor party. These were my experiences/takeaways: First, I'll say that NOLA has always been one of my favorites places, and loved it when I was 22, 25, 26, and 29. Each of those times I either stayed on Canal or Bourbon, but now, it's painfully obvious to me that I have outgrown setting up base camp on Bourbon. I know I'm getting older, but it also seems a little trashier than it was 10-15 years ago. The shooting early Sunday morning only cemented my opinions. So, I look forward to returning, but staying elsewhere. As far as restaurants/bars/entertainment went, I didn't have much say in the matter for this trip, but of the places I went: Johnny's Po-Boys - been a favorite of mine for years. I thought this visit was only okay, but I also went near closing time so that might have affected the quality of the bread. Antoine's - good, but not great. The pompano was solid, as were their chargrilled oysters, but oysters rockefeller, which they claimed to have invented, were very mediocre-to-bad. Erin Rose - frozen Irish coffees were fucking excellent. Really hit the spot on the hot and humid mornings. Parkway Bakery & Tavern - in the Mid-City area. Excellent. One of the best po-boys I've ever had. Outside the Quarter, but would absolutely have again. Jacque Imo's - in Uptown. Solid, although, like Johnny's, don't feel like I got their best. They told me they were having to shut down for a couple weeks soon, so maybe they were low on stuff/effort. My panned rabbit wasn't particularly noteworthy this time around. Felix's - very good chargrilled oysters, probably better than Antoine's and certainly more affordable. Harrah's - fucked me hard. $25 minimums, but I actually had better luck at the $50 tables with fewer riff-raff. Looking forward to my next trip when I can hit up GW Fins, Commander's Palace, and more of the places y'all have recommended... but hopefully staying in the Garden District from now on.
  17. SEC Basketball isn't coming to Dallas. Attendance when Big 12 was at the AAC was pretty spare. That said, I'd love to see postseason football and baseball in-state.
  18. Does anyone know what time the SEC presidents are meeting tomorrow?
  19. And some of you assholes still wish we were going west? We all dodged a bullet 11 years ago.
