  1. What do you wear with a navy suit?
  2. Just move this bitch to the spring already.
  3. Easy decision after it was dropped last year by Hufflepuff.
  4. It helps that the above, the actual "Stars and Bars," was never really adopted by the Klan or other hate groups, as opposed to the battle flag.
  5. Fuck that noise. I have no interest in seeing LSU in motherfucking Shreveport.
  6. This guy definitely beats off while imagining Holden Caulfield.
  7. I was there a couple weeks ago. They've certainly dropped a couple of those hiring requirements.
  8. ...and FC Dallas is withdrawing from the tournament. Fuck.
  9. Lol at my facebook friends swearing off the NFL because of this news. Who to hell cares?
  10. Agreed. Aside from the donations to BLM and "The Eyes," the other stuff should be a quick and simple decision.
  11. The name of the South Dakota town is Gettysburg. Not that that justifies it, but does make it less out-of-nowhere.
  12. Seems like only a proposal from a TAPPS coach though and that UIL doesn't look to be entertaining the idea. https://www.dallasnews.com/high-school-sports/football/2020/06/28/see-details-including-potential-start-and-end-dates-for-each-sport-of-proposal-to-flip-flop-fall-and-spring-sports/
  13. Has anybody seen the proposal that fall and spring sports “swap” seasons this academic year?
  14. Wonder if calls for removal of the one on the Forty Acres will be next.
  15. This doesn't shock me since the Texas case was only two years old. But when is the Supreme Court supposed to take up these "heartbeat" laws?
  16. Agreed with OP. Give most of DC back to Maryland, but also let PR have its shot.
  17. I already made those points throughout this entire thread. It's all there for your consumption. You, on the other hand, instead of responding on the merits like others have, chose to pull a "Leroy Jenkins" without any argument or intelligent thought. Am I still being too convoluted for you?
  18. Who am I to argue with such eloquence and historical citations? Now go get your shine box.
  19. I don't know, did your house form its own state in the Union before voting to secede? If not, it's a pretty bad analogy. Use whatever word you like then. It doesn't change the fact the U.S. gov't brought the seceded states back into the Union by force.
  20. The Lost Cause is about downplaying or even flat-out rejecting the role that slavery played in sectional differences and disunion; that's not what I'm doing. It's not exactly radical to state that the Confederacy formed its own short-lived county. Its several states went through the formal process of secession with many even having binding referendums, ratified its own constitution, formed its own executive, legislative, and judicial branches, coined its own money, and raised its own military. It was never successful enough on the battlefield to merit international recognition, but that doesn't mean the country or its institutions didn't exist until it was conquered by Union forces. You're welcome to criticize the reasons for secession or the wisdom for doing so, but those are separate issues from whether or not the Confederacy was, briefly, its own country.
