  1. This. She ain’t coming out period.
  2. Bennett has two goals in Game 1 tonight.
  3. Maybe it's because we all laughed at him when he suggested "nuking" a hurricane.
  4. I'm sure the Stars can't get him but I saw The Athletic's list of the 50 best FA's this offeason -- #2 is Sam Bennett, who would be a god-send to this team. He's 100% what we need. (That list was speckled with Stars -- Duchene #11, Granlund #14, Benn #21, Ceci #28 and Dadonov #43.)
  5. I'm with Sturm. Said it earlier, or maybe in the other thread, I've wondered this from the beginning with him. Great regular season scorer but can he consistently score in 5v5 playoff situations where you don't have the time and space to move around like in the regular season? He's a big guy (6-3, 207) that doesn't really create his own space through strength or fight. Most of his goals come when he's gotten himself wide open and he snipes one past the goalie. 40% of his playoff points have come on the power play (29% in regular season games). That doesn't happen as much in the playoffs, especially as you get deeper into the postseason and the opponents get stronger. Here's Robo's career playoff resume: 2022 vs Calgary (Stars lose in 7): 1G-3A (All 4 points come at even strength and he's +3 for the series) 2023 vs Minnesota (Stars win 1st round in 6): 2G-5A (Six of his seven points come on the PP and he's even for the series) 2023 vs Seattle (Stars win 2nd round in 7): 0G-5A (Three of his five points come at even strength and he's +1 for the series) 2023 vs Vegas (Stars lose in 6): 5G-1A (Two of his five goals and the assist come on the PP and he's +1 for the series) 2024 vs Vegas (Stars win in 7): 3G-2A (Two of his three goals are on the PP and he's -5 for the series) 2024 vs Colorado (Stars win in 6): 0G-7A (Four of his seven assists are on the PP and he's +2 for the series) 2024 vs Edmonton (Stars lose in 6): 3G-1A (gets an assist in G1 and a hat trick in G3 -- all four points at even strength and he's a +1 for the series) 2025 vs Colorado (does not play due to injury) 2025 vs Winnipeg (Stars win in 6): 0G-1A (obviously rusty due to missing a few weeks to injury, his lone assist comes on PP and he's a -3 for the series) 2025 vs Edmonton (Stars lose in 5) 4G-1A (Three of his four goals and four of his five points come at even strength and he's a -2 for the series) TOTAL: 28 playoff games (18G-26A, 44 points, -4 rating; 11G-15A, 26 points at even strength, 7G-11A, 18 points on the PP)

  7. Truth
  8. Under normal circumstances, sure. Today? Good luck with that.
  9. I'm thoroughly confused by what @G650 is talking about with regard to Modest Mouse. It's definitely a weird, potentially limp-wristed band name, but nothing about the band IMO is soft. My wife and I went to the reunion show for the Lonesome Crowded West album and I forgot how heavy that thing was from start-to-finish. "Trailer Trash" and "Bankrupt on Selling" are the two anomalies and they're my two favorite tracks on the record. That was not a "wussy" crowd in attendance that night. There were lots of jean pocket chains and more than few bikers in attendance. They got a little more indie in the early '00s by the time I first stumbled across them. Putting them in any discussion with fucking Korn or Limp Bizkit is way off base. Completely different offshoots of rock music. For reference, do we have an age for @G650? I'm 52 and grew up with the 80's (especially British New Wave) but pride myself on constantly discovering new (mostly indie) music as I get older. My wife and I probably average seeing 45-50 bands live per year (number is skewed because we'll hit at least one festival per year, sometimes two like this year). I just counted our 2024 run sheet and we saw 46 in 2024 with one festival (Kilby Block Party). We're already at 38 for 2025 (we went to both High Water Fest and Kilby and that is about 25 of the artists we've seen thus far).
  10. It ain't just aggy parents. My daughter just finished her freshman year at Ole Miss and some of the shit parents post in the "Parents of" Facebook posts is ridiculous.
  11. I fired this back up this weekend after this thread. Watched the first four or so. Such a wonderful show.
  12. Couldn't be further from the truth. You've heard more than "Float On" right?
  13. I posted basically these two points verbatim in the "Elon is a racist cocksucker" thread on DT. This is exactly what happened. He accomplished his goals.
  14. Nah. Musk accomplished his goals -- get into all kinds of government databases and collect/download a treasure rove of information on all Americans, he killed agencies/investigations into his various companies, extended his government subsidies and probably awarded himself some new contracts on the way. He's also a white supremacist so he's completely on board with the heinous actions of DHS/ICE and he also stands to benefit bigly from any tax cuts for the wealthy in the BBB. He's simply trying to save face for potential customers of Tesla, etc. He's like MTG -- "I didn't know *THAT* was in the BBB" and now I'm against it. After I voted for it. Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. It would, however, be funny to see Trump stab him in the back now and either deport him or ruin him financially. I do, though, think Elon had a HUGE hand (legal or otherwise) in getting Trump elected so they both might have the goods on the other that nothing comes of this. Too bad -- I wish it would go down like the final scene in Reservoir Dogs.
  15. Having seen them twice in the last month, I can safely say Perfume Genius is a fun show.
  16. The real cover-up is of Trump's disordered mental state https://www.publicnotice.co/p/trump-cognitive-decline-cover-up

  18. I bought a new car in late Feb and it has this a security feature. There is a camera that monitors your eyes and hits you with an alert when it doesn't detect them for a period of time (it's not a long period of time either). It drove me nuts on my drive to San Antonio because I tend to sit a little slouched over on the center console when driving longer distances. After that trip, I figured out to turn that setting off.
  19. Seems as good a thread as any but Razor is going to the Hall of Fame. https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/stars/2025/05/30/stars-daryl-razor-reaugh-wins-foster-hewitt-memorial-award-for-broadcasting-excellence/
  20. I'll let you know if my wife wants to make it Friday night.
  21. Fortunate Son is bad ass and that town square is super cool. It’s a long fucking way from my place though. The brewpub/bbq place is cool too (Intrinsic???). I’m not a big fan of the Black Crowes but we dig that part of town and Fortunate Son is great.
  22. The missus and I are heading to Perfume Genius at Canton Hall tonight.
  23. TIL that Jason Sudeikis is George Wendt's nephew. Jason's mom is George's sister.
  24. I've got nothing to add other than I heard a story the other day about the set of Popeye. Apparently it was cocaine central. They filmed the movie in Malta and would fly the dailies back to LA (I guess) so they could be watched. Then the empty canisters would be filled with coke and flown back to the set in Malta. Rinse. Wash. Repeat. I remember seeing this in the theaters. I was very young. I don't remember it being great but I'd love to revisit it for nostalgia alone. Didn't Robert Altman direct?
