  1. I just assumed he meant Swanson could be as good as Van Fillinger on prom night.
  2. Yes. Same as last year. We just don't bestow ours with the same level of reverence and significance as the "World Famous Texum Aggy Pool Party Showcase and Spectacular". It's like Coachella, the World's Fair, and the Oscars - all mixed together with a Travis Scott AstroWorld concert.
  3. Doesn't even move like a Manning. Those are 3 Star feet and hips, if we're being honest. Not sure why he's getting the Manning boost, since he is clearly missing the plodding gene from Eli and Peyton.
  4. I will be mockingly chanting S-E-C after we beat Bama in September.
  5. Arik Gilbert was 5 overall as a TE, although he's now considered a WR maybe. Oh, and Aaron Hernandez was 35 overall.
  6. I know this is the stupid questions thread, but it really helps if the questions are written in something approaching intelligible English.
  7. It was Gabe Brooks. He said, regarding Cam Williams - "We don't have a verified arm measurement, but we do know the wingspan is 6-11. That's +6 relative to height. How much of that is body width?" and then proceeded to say "We think he's anywhere from 350-370 right now. He needs to drop more weight. " To which @Huckleberry extrapolated, "Holy fucking shit, you glossed right over the part where he said he wasn't sure how much credit Williams should get for his wingspan because he's fat. GABE BROOKS THINKS HIS WINGSPAN MIGHT SHRINK IF HE LOSES WEIGHT."
  8. Yes. A 9.95er (maybe it was Roach?) mentioned that one of the Olinemen we signed last year would have to play guard in college, since his wingspan would shrink after ye lost some of his weight.
  9. https://247sports.com/player/martellus-bennett-25224/ Was #16 Overall
  10. We're pretty much done on offense. Baxter, Hale, MHP, and Duce are left on the board. On defense we probably need 3 more in the secondary - Toviano, Matthews, and a safety (not sure who). In the front seven, we probably need 5-7 more. We're working on (in descending order of who I think is most likely to commit) : Gullette, Hill, Hicks, Akana, Shelby, Vasek, Damon Wilson, Markis Deal, Osborne, Samu. Maybe some others come along like Taderius Collins.
  11. If our south DFW recruiting continues to flourish with Chris Gilbert, I see no reason why we can't get this dude. I know Cam Williams is from Duncanville. Anybody else on our roster?
  12. I really hope not, cause I am in desperate need of a golden football.
  13. My guess on how many we take at each position, and who our remaining targets are. I'm sure I forgot a few guys we're after. Pos: #Commits (#Wanted) - QB: 1 (1) - Arch . RB: 1 (2) - Wisner. All in on Cedric Baxter for the other RB spot at this point. WR: 3 (4 or 5?) - Cook, Niblett, Wilson. The likely last 1 or two are Jalen Hale and MHP. TE: 2 (2) - Randle, Shannon - Duce is a numbers buster. If he wants to come on board we'll take him, but otherwise we're probably only taking 2 TEs. OL: 5 (5) - Cojoe, Stroh, Chatman, Goosby, Kirkland. Can't imagine taking any more CB: 1 (3) - Muhammad . I assume we'd like 3, but not sure who else we go for after Toviano and Jordan Matthews (maybe try to flip Jayvon?). S: 2 (3) - Williams, Johnson. Like CB I think we try to sign 3. Other than Caleb Downs, not sure who we're interested in. LB: 2 (4) - Burrell, Lefau. Hill and Gullette are the targets. Gullette might be more Edge than LB. Probably need to cast a wider net for more LBs. Edge: 1 (3) - Walton. Some other possibilities are Akana, Shelby, Vasek, and Damon Wilson. DL: 2 ( 5) - Mitchell, Spencer. Obviously the prize is Hicks. I think we're still chasing Samu Taumanupepe. Not sure what's going on with Hunter Osborne, or Markis Deal . I'd think we want numbers, but we don't seem to be chasing a lot on the DL. That would be 32 spots. Maybe the DL,Edge, LB spots together will total closer to 10 than 12.
  14. Most of the data suffers from Small Sample Size issues. A few different methodologies give different results, but if making it to the NFL is mostly indicative of a player having a successful college career, then that number is a good starting point. The success rate for Five Star players is somewhere between 50-60%. The success rate for 4 stars is around 20-30%. But, 5Stars also have a higher average draft position. So with a 2x to 3x better success rate, and typically a better performance, the 2 5Stars is probably the better bet. Here's some more info: https://lastwordonsports.com/collegefootball/2021/07/12/what-do-those-star-ratings-mean/
  15. Eh, shoulda been "Paid a Ton", but otherwise not sure what nerve I struck. I'm excited that we're finally able to compete against the bags with legal NIL money.
  16. I think ctj was just wild-ass-guessing, but maybe there was some smoke, when he said that Malik was gonna commit and Jayvon Thomas would flip.
  17. 'Payton "PKAY" Kirkland' needs to change his twitter handle to to 'Payton "Pay a ton" Kirkland'.
