    One Wheel

Yeah, I am thinking this is a dumb idea. I like doing 2 things while clothed, driving cars and playing golf. Both of them require my hands not be broken from eating shit.
  2. I am. I am sure it is about as ugly as a shit from a baby that ate too much sugar.

    One Wheel

Does anyone over 15 have one on here? My brother, who is 50, has one and raves about it and now kinda has me wanting one. He came to visit this weekend and likes the thing so much he brought it with him and took several rides around the hood. Is this part of a mid-life crisis for him, and possibly me, or are they actually fun after the initial newness wears off?
  4. This is the truth. I have a law license and insurance license. It took 3 years and a shitty test for the law license, it took 3 days and a test a high school dropout could pass for the insurance license. I could do WAY more damage to others with the insurance license than I could the law license.
  5. That looks pretty solid. But, I would still take James Coney Island. One of the few things I miss from living in Houston.
  6. Damn this thread. These are now on their way.
  7. I leave the TV on in my office for background noise. Just looked up to some Torrid commercial that was for 10-30 size women....in bikinis. Fuck you TV.
  8. These ones about being smashed and get to live long enough to say goodbye to your family and then die after they pull you apart sound like the worst.
  9. After about a year of getting tired of hearing “I am so close”, something finally clicked the day before yesterday about taking the club away a little slower and getting my hips out of the way. Went from shooting 90-95 consistently to an 83 on my course with a triple and a double (cockiness took over and I got a little aggressive on a couple shots). My course is stupidly hard so really pumped with the 83. Might be more hooked than I already was and moving more toward the love of this love/hate relationship.
  10. Where do you learn when/where these things are? Would love to take the kid there to check them out sometime.
  11. lol, haven't done the boat yet. I guess that's another question. Do they haggle on a boat you order or on a slightly used boat? It will either be the X24 or X26.
  12. Nm, the above. Thanks for the advice. Pretty sure I decided on the place and lake which kinda dictates the boat. Now just need to decide on the size of boat but will drive them both Friday. I am impulsive.
  13. Now the question has popped up on which lake since I am not that committed. I intend to keep the boat where I am going no matter what and just go meet it for the day or rent or buy a place to stay. What I am after is a place with either a waterfront or water view town house or small house to rent randomly or buy, a marina with slips, a kids area at that marina would be nice, decent restaurants and constant level would be nice that is less than an hour from Bee Cave. The HSB resort checks all those boxes but are there other places in that distance as well? So far, we have Canyon Lake, LBJ and Travis but I don't know if Travis and Canyon have those options.
  14. I am new to boating in this area. Is this a West Lake/Lake Travis type thing or is HSB more known for stumps, etc? I was at LBJ yesterday and it seemed pretty easy to navigate besides the millions of other boaters and jet skis. Lake Travis is actually closer to my home but was picking HSB due to the resort activities for kids, golf courses and constant level.
  15. Great info. Thanks. I used to have the SAN 210 and whatever one before that that wasn’t a V-drive and loved them. But, I was a wakeboarder back then and I think those days are over. Or, at least limited. I don’t really intend to tow it and plan on keeping it at a slip or maybe house in HSB or that area. Looking for an all around kinda boat that can carry me and some friends comfortably, handle the chop, good to great at surfing and good at wakeboarding for little man when the time comes. I also only intend to do this once for the next while. So, with what you said, you think the 24 would be better than the 26 for wakeboarding? I don’t see me going to 21 just for comfort reasons.
  16. Was at LBJ yesterday and felt like Labor Day or 4th of July. Also had some jackass in a pontoon boat run into/break the swim platform while I was eating at Boat Town and not say anything about it. Didn’t notice until I jumped in the water after lunch. But, even with that, still posted the above.
  17. Looking like it’s that time to get back in the boating game. I have been out of it since the early 2000’s but I borrowed my brothers X24 yesterday to take my son out and looks like the bug bit. I am pretty partial to Nautiques and that’s what I have always had but looks like Mastercraft has a dealership that can do maintenance/service on HSB which is a huge plus so leaning that way. Anybody with experience with the X24 or X26? Are their other Mastercraft models I should consider or reasons to do the Nautique over the Mastercraft? Mainly going to be used for a family of 3 plus friends for wakeboarding, wakesurfing, tubing, cruising, etc. Any thoughts are appreciated as I am back to a newbie at this.
  18. This was the first time I made it so I just googled and followed this. They give you two options for the eggplant, I went the frying route and they turned out perfectly. https://www.loveandlemons.com/easy-eggplant-recipes/
  19. Wife’s garden made some eggplants and basil. So, I made eggplant Parmesan.
  20. That's how I like to fry chicken and it's kind of an old school way that my grandparents used to do. No eggs or milk (cause broke and that was a waste) so it's just salt, pepper and flour. Ends up lightly battered. I/they also chop the whole chicken up and remove all the skin except for the wings and leave the bone on the breast after cutting off the "pully bone". Turns out delicious...at least to me since that's what I am used to. The okra, they never made that so I do dip them in eggs. IMG_0882.heic
  21. This is somewhere between here and Steel Shank. But, after fish for the past while, I needed to give the arteries some attention.
  22. Just a thought that’s a bit different from above so take it with a grain of salt. If I were to do it again and choose to practice law instead of going into business (which, while also a lawyer, I wouldn’t choose law), I would go the route of working for a smaller prestigious plaintiff firm, gain as much experience as I could, save every penny, live well within my means and then go off and start my own firm. From all the lawyers I know, those are the ones that seem to do really, really well (meaning multiple homes, maybe PJ type stuff) and have decent control of their work/life balance with maybe a couple high end M&A people mixed in. But, the M&A guys are Harvard, Stanford type pedigrees. No offense meant to half the board here that are lawyers, just an observation from what I have witnessed.
  23. Try the Zyn. I started dipping Copenhagen around 16 and immediately fell in love with it which turned into at least a can and a half a day. Have been off it but on the gum for about the last 10 years (45 now) and only managed to quit the gum twice for about a year each time during that period. The whole time I was on the gum I would still “sneak” dips for certain activities (hunting, fishing, golf). Moved to the Zyn about a year ago from the gum and now actually prefer it over dip. Still need to get off all nicotine though but that first few weeks of quitting really sucks. Best of luck to you all.
