  1. Thanks for running this! I'll take Duke, Gonzaga, Utah State, Kentucky, San Diego State, Memphis, Texas A&M, UConn
  2. Cross-posting from Gamboool board: OK, we are back in on this, we had 14 entries last year, hoping we can fly by that this year. PM me to make picks and get payment details. LFG! You select one team on every seed line (so a 1 seed, a 2 seed, a 3 seed, etc etc). You also pick a wild card team who is NOT in your original selections. So you will select 17 teams. The scoring is 1 point for a win in the 1st round, 3 for a win in the 2nd, 5 for a win in the S16, 7 for a win in the E8, 9 for a win in the F4, and 11 for a natty win PLUS the team's seed is added to each win. So you get 2 points if your 1 seed wins in the first round, and 15 if your 14 seed does. The First Four play-in games don't count, so for example you could pick the winner of Pitt/Miss State (either before or after they play in the First Four, totally fine for one of your picks to be "Pitt/Miss State", but can't pick one of those teams and earn points for the play-in win. $25/entry, must pay and make selections by tipoff Thursday. I will share the Google Sheet with everyone by end of day Thurs and will post my own picks in the thread before tipoff so everyone knows I didn't just wait for the best picks.
  3. OK, we are back in on this, looking forward to having a more efficient spreadsheet haha. The First Four play-in games don't count, so for example if Pitt vs Arizona State is a 12 seed play-in game, you could pick the winner of Pitt/ASU (either before or after they play, totally fine for one of your picks to be "Pitt/ASU", but can't pick one of those teams and earn points for the play-in win. $25/entry, must pay and make selections by tipoff Thursday. 4. What was your fourth street card? Assume it wasn’t the suit of your AK? I don’t hate folding with two people pairing middling door cards with an ace also dead for your two pair draw. Reasonable chance at least one of them made trips, especially if they aren’t complete morons.
  5. Yep! Will be getting it off the ground in the next day or two.
  6. I have a pair for the show in Austin on March 24 at the Paramount. Aisle seats in Orchestra Right, row U, seats 1-2, easy access to beverages, etc. $120 for the pair which is what I paid. Super sad to miss, but my kiddo got a movie gig in Miami, and happy to miss for that.
  7. Definitely requires much more maintenance and precision to not overshoot the runway. Way more straightforward being housed by 1045 starting at 7, esp if you're willing to have booze in the parking lot rather than all beer.
  8. Exactly. When it's at 11 you get uncrowded fair from 745-915 or so, and then again after like 6. When it's at 230, there is no uncrowded fair.
  9. Guess it depends what you want and what you're looking for. I really enjoy having time at the fair when it isn't packed out elbows to assholes. They open the gates early when the kick is 11, and we get to the Fair at 7, drink in the lot, and are inside by 8, grabbing corny dogs and fried butter without wait. OTOH, at the 230 games, the gates don't open early, and every shitbird is there by the time stuff opens resulting in long ass lines and hot annoying days. Then after the game when it's 11, we can chill for a bit as people disperse, then enjoy more of the fair in reasonable crowds. But when 230, people hanging for a couple hours after the fair have everyone still onsite until 8-830, and it's much more crowded even until close. Plus 11-230 is a less hot window in the actual stadium than 230-6 is. Now, if you just want to go out and get shithoused Friday night and be able to sleep til noon, I guess sure, but I can do that any day. I wanna soak in the fair on OU-Texas day.
  10. That happening 30 days from me basically having a forced refi is why I consider stepping in front of a bus
  11. I was actually quite excited when it was 230 a few years ago because I thought it was going to be better, but it was a distinctly worse experience.
  12. Definitely recommend people check out the work of Scott Fawcett, Jon Sherman, Lou Stagner, and Mark Broadie on this topic, including the Hack it Out and The Sweet Spot podcasts, the books Every Shot Counts and the Four Foundations of Golf, and the DECADE system.
  13. Even if you are sub 5, the data really shows that every player is best playing a "stock" shot rather than trying to work multiple shapes of shots, deviating only when absolutely forced to due to obstacles, and the better approach is shifting the target you select based on your stock shot and centering the dispersion away from disaster zones.
  14. Anyone in the market for club fitting, Club Champion running a deal right now for $100 full bag fitting (with or without putter) or $50 for any other fitting with promo code ARCCOS100. To receive promo price, must purchase at least one club.
  15. Best to always think about what you would do with a range of hands, rather than your specific exact holding. It's also fine to build a range that bets small and a range that bets big, but both need to be balanced to avoid the "I bet big when I have it, small when I don't" plan that will get you murked by good players. I think you played it just fine. I think trying to get 1/2 players to fold AQ on an AK5 board is not generally worth pursuing other than against the most timid players. You got a free river draw at your straight and lost just a bit. On to the next.
  16. Mandatory c-bet. We have a range advantage overall since we are the opener in EP and he's a caller in LP. We also have a huge nuts advantage, b/c he almost certainly can't have AK, AA, KK but we can. The board is draw-heavy, which will generally lead to bigger c-bets (so we can price out draws and also build fold equity for our own). I would bet $15-20. An argument can also be made for betting small, as he may fold out his small pairs to any bet and we lose less when he has a hand. How deep are stacks?
  17. Seems a great deal. You will want a 5 wood or 4 hybrid to fill the gap between 3 wood and 5 hybrid. I'd get these, and see if you prefer woods or hybrids and then get the one you like hitting better.
  18. What? No. It won't be pods either. The two options left on the table are 8 conference games a year with 1 permanent rival and rotating the other 14 every two years or 9 games with 3 permanent rivals and rotating the other 12 every two years. The second plan is the massive favorite. As an OU fan, I'd much rather play Arky every year than Mizzou, but whatever. Rotating every conference opponent through a home and home every 4 year cycle alleviates concern about any game unless it absolutely must be played every year, and OU only has one of those in the SEC.
  19. Like the reality of the 5th Circuit having already said it is unconstitutional for a person with multiple previous violent incidents involving firearms, and now a protective order in place due to domestic violence, to be restricted from having his guns? That fucking reality? Anyone who supports that can literally get absolutely fucked in their stupid fucking gullet.
  20. We need 29.3% equity. Our equity vs various ranges: AA - 12.1% KK+ - 23.1% KK+, AKs - 32.1% KK+, AK - 40.2% QQ+, AKs - 37.7% QQ+, AK - 41.9% So basically if he can ever have a hand worse than KK, we should call. A smart player with a relentless aggro in the hand and a cold call in there as well seems not insane to think they could make a play on occasion.
  21. Jesus how gross. How often does Old Asian limp? Is Old Asian wearing any gold chains or is he like 88 years old and having hot tea?
  22. For me, the chills moment is when Rocky gets up from the late knockdown and waves like "come on" and Apollo just drops his head slightly in disbelief like "this fucking guy". It is just perfect.
