    The Wire

I would definitely watch it with a guide of some sort as it is so thick. Alan Sepinwall did a whole episode by episode recap for new watchers (and veterans) a while back. If you just search Alan Sepinwall The Wire it should come up. It has no spoilers, but with all the characters and relationships, I’m sure it’s helpful. Treme was really great too. I think it took off after season one, after they dialed in the Steve Zahn and Michiel Huisman characters. They were pretty bad in season one, IMO.
  2. Read this last year and really enjoyed it. They all had a great time around town during filming (other than Michelle Burke). Jason Lee was dating Marisa Ribisi at the time (I think she was 17 and emancipated), so he was a part of the circus too. Sounds like McConaughey was more of a tour guide and didn't participate much in the craziness with the rest of the cast. Cole Hauser sounds like a maniac.
  3. Hitting Bottle Rock next weekend. Anyone been? Any tips/tricks?
  4. Nice to have a relaxing win. Now need Spurs to drop points on Thursday and we’re into CL.

    EPL 2021-22

Jesus Christ, what has gotten into Pickford? He’s been incredible the last few weeks. He just made 3 huge saves in about 10 minutes.
  6. A lot by the looks of it. Hope he finds a way to turn it around. He’s a monster when he’s on
  7. First time at the Moody Amphitheater tomorrow night. What's the play on parking?
  8. We're taking our 5 year old to Haim on Wednesday. She's been to every ACL that's she's been around for and a couple of other kids shows, but I think this is the first ticket I have bought her for a concert. Concerts and festivals were my wife and I's thing before kids, so we're excited to get her started.
  9. Came here to post this. We watched it over a few nights and really enjoyed it. If you're looking for something easy to watch between all of the other stuff coming out this month, it's worth the time.
  10. I'm a little worried about Kante. When some players start downhill, it happens fast and that may be the case for him. He has a ton of miles on those tires with how much he runs and fights. I know Alonso has his defensive issues, but I will miss him when he leaves. He's had some massive goals over the years. Watching the highlights, I had honestly forgotten Mata was still on ManU. I looked and he left Chelsea in Jan 2014. Wild that he's been gone for 8 years.
  11. It’s hilarious that people are reading a thread on a genocide and complaining about how it shows up on their mobile browser. Glad we are keeping everything in perspective….
  12. Watched "The Worst Person in the World" last weekend and really liked it. The main actress (Renate Reinsve) was terrific as was her boyfriend. It takes some turns that are unexpected, but I thought it was very affecting. I found it to be a great representation of someone around 30, just trying to figure shit out. Worth a watch if you're up for something different.
  13. This is correct. I prefer the Latin Quarter, but the Marais will also get you what you want. Enjoy. It's a wonderful city.
  14. Man, they were WAY too generous to George Schulz. He actually ambushed his grandson with the Bois legal team, not just the GC. He strong armed his grandson to sign, but he refused. They did get the step-grandmother right. She was Tyler’s lifeline

    NIT 2022

I watched the last 10 minutes or so and the officiating was horrific. Even Fran was criticizing them.
  16. They look like the Hot Cops from Arrested Development.
  17. Cliffs notes on the new rule?
  18. He started at 8:15, so hope you made it in time! Overall, good time. He played a good mix across his albums, though I didn't need 3 from Georgia Blue. My wife was disappointed at no Hope the High Road. The band sounded great. I went to multiple Luck Reunions in the past, so it was great to be back there. Just a super cool place to see some music. I hope they continue to do shows out there.
  19. Well, did he finish or what?!?
  20. Saw it the other day and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. The 3 hours definitely worried me, but I didn't mind it in this case. Mildly spoilery, but I did notice the liquid that Batman injected into his leg looked (and acted) a lot like the Venom drug. I read a bunch of comics as a kid and that series always stuck with me (that shit was serious), so I definitely perked up when I saw it. Looking around on the internet, I wasn't the only one who noticed it. Who knows if they do anything with it, but put a pin in that.
  21. It’s not as good, but much like D&C, it gets better will repeated viewing. I’ve seen it a few times now and enjoy it more and more. It’s a great thing to put on and hang out in the world, again like D&C. Glenn Powell has his star making performance in this. Also, as a long time Lea Thompson enthusiast, I enjoy time spent with Zoey Deutch. The only miss is Juston Street. Bad character. Bad performance.
  22. Man, tough time for our good FT shooting to go to shit.
  23. Needed that badly.
  24. Anyone know when Duke’s next game is?
  25. They dropped the finale a day early, so we just finished it. Overall enjoyed it. It's not essential viewing, but worth a watch if you want a fun and easy watch. The great cast carries it.
