  1. This is going to end up being a 4-hour loss, isn’t it?
  2. Bullpen depth is certainly the main concern with this team.
  3. Hard not to be. I had a semi before Borba ruined the mood.
  4. I’d take an Augie-like rant on the way to another CWS title.
  5. That wasn’t even close lmao. Looked like Ewers throwing a deep ball off his back foot.
  6. Fuck. Howard already Howarding.
  7. We have no idea either. Just that Schloss “must have seen something” while Dre was warming up.
  8. Oh, shit. Hope Dre isn’t hurt. Also, double shit. Howard coming in. We’re doomed.
  9. There is a lot to like about Schloss, but this is probably my favorite change from Pierce. Pierce left pitchers in way too long. We’d all predict what was about to happen. Schloss, on the other hand, demands his pitchers (particularly relievers) throw strikes and has a short leash (the complete other side of the leash spectrum from Pierce).
  10. Navarre throwing BP thus far.
  11. Did Bing just throw five perfect innings? He gave up a sac fly, but the run was attributed to Rerick, right? Only lightly watching.
  12. And, Liberty leads #11 Wake Forest 11-8, T9 Mercer leads #5 FSU 6-0, T5
  13. Is there precedent for this? I don’t remember an external hire in college sports starting in the middle of a season before.
  14. We’re coming for y’all 😉
  15. Wow…
  16. I don’t think so. They’re not going to pitch a guy in two back-to-back games (meaning a double header the same day. Not two consecutive games on different days).
  17. I think Grubbs is probably starting/being saved for game two.
  18. Probably not.
  19. Definitely agree with you. I wasn't really considering the first part of your statement re: Terry going somewhere else and killing it; just what happens at Texas. But yes, Terry going elsewhere killing it and Texas performing poorly would be a real kick in the nuts. I doubt that complete scenario plays out though.
  20. I don't think the two are necessarily related. A bad hire is a bad hire. Regardless of the hire, it looks like Texas should move on from RT. You can make the right decision in looking for a different coach but get the hire wrong. That's how I would look at it, anyways. That's why I hope there's no uncertainly with it. Go pay for a proven name. Let there be no ambiguity about the decision.
  21. The optimistic take on what you said is that this is often how Tre works.
  22. I have to believe the decision (to let him go or retain him) is already made. Save for a Sweet Sixteen run, he's likely gone. However, if Texas makes the tournament and advances in any fashion, I'll believe it when I see it that a coach who wins a tournament game in every season of his tenure will be let go. Then again, if the upgrade is so obvious, I could be wrong.
  23. Here's the OTF version:
  24. Looks like Pico's stuff is more spicy than mild: K:BB = 37:4 (0 HBPs) Whip = .72 with only 6 XBH allowed in 81 ABs with an opposing .160 B/Avg. Granted, he's faced Manhattan (7-8), Missouri State (5-10), Rice (2-14), and Queens (2-14), and both Rice and Queens got him for 3 runs apiece.
