  1. He may have that new QB. Hank Brown replaced Payton Thorne this past Saturday and threw for 4 TDs
  2. Damn, you beat me to it: https://texaslonghorns.com/staff-directory/sam-contorno/1601
  3. True, and the "next year!" roller coaster will begin again, buoyed by an 8-4 season in The Elk's first year. Which honestly, 8-4 would be a good result for them given everything that has transpired there in the past year.
  4. I agree with all of this. Granted, Heard couldn't pass downfield as well as Reed (it seems, as of now), but there will be new game planning for him, nonetheless. A&M avoids UGA, Bama, Tenn, Ole Miss, and OU. While they play Mizzou, SCar, and LSU, all of those teams have major holes. All in all, I just think their final record may make them look better than they actually are. However, as long as Texas takes care of them on November 30th, I don't give a damn.
  5. I know Florida is *not* good, but A&M did look much better on offense with Reed at QB. It'll be interesting to see them against a team like BGSU and then against a competent passing attack in Mizzou.
  6. It's a commitment, alright. Every point, regardless of false premise, or not, also incorporates an obvious dig - usually regarding something that's entirely made up. So, in summary, entirely aggy. The Longhorns, sitting at no. 2 in the Coaches’ Poll, (can't reference what we are in the AP, can you, aggy?) are continuing to make a lot of hay with that win over Michigan—one that looks like it will continue to sour with each passing week (then why did Texas get moved up to #1 after UTSA?), after the Wolverines beat Arkansas State by only ten. The same old issues (umm, what?) keep cropping up. Quinn Ewers threw another extremely questionable interception shortly (maybe there was a reason?) before he exited the game with an abdominal strain (oh, yeah, like that one. He also passed for 185 yards and 2 TDs on 14-of-16 passing, but none of that matters). Arch Manning was able to find the talented Longhorn receivers against the UTSA defensive backs (no matter that plenty of the throws by Ewers and Manning were perfect dimes, but it was just the receivers) for the rest of the game, but rushing acumen on both sides of the ball hasn’t been there (bro, why? Texas passed for over 400 yards and rushed for almost 200. Did they need to run for more production in this one for some reason?). The Longhorns allowed nearly a yard per carry more than the Roadrunners average, and they themselves earned their worst PPA/rush of the year at 0.028 (who invented this stat I've never seen carry weight and why does it matter?). For context, that’s worse than A&M against Notre Dame, Vanderbilt against Virginia Tech, or Kentucky against Georgia. The Longhorns have been able to take advantage of overmatched teams (overmatched partly because Texas is so good) and inept offenses so far on defense, putting up impressive numbers in YPA allowed and defensive third down conversion rate. But when they face more capable offensive units, you can’t help but feel that their ineptitude in these facets will end up coming back to bite them (so, OP, is Texas impressive or inept? Because you just said each to describe the same on-field results).
  7. PK and Nansen have this defense playing very, very well so far. We'll see what happens when we play a top-third offense, but still. It has been impressive.
  8. I'm pretty sure Burke was committed to Maryland for lacrosse, not Michigan.
  9. Smith with a monster fourth-down stop getting shot out of a cannon at around the 3:17 mark of the third quarter. Dude is a player (you didn't say he wasn't; just saying he is), but needs to gain more good weight.
  10. Do not start this shit again here. Edit: down vote me all you want, but this already devolved into a shit show once. Be mature and control your side of things. We'll expect the same for Derka. But don't make passive aggressive shots like this.
  11. See, Stan Drayton is actually first in something as a head coach...
  12. While this is certainly gruntling, wouldn't that mean that Burton's stating Texas isn't recruiting Javion Hilson? Didn't he just say he's going to visit?
  13. He's a weakside LB. He's always been small for a LB. He's put on weight since arriving at Texas (197 in high school to a 220 listing now. I'm skeptical of 220 though), but still small. Lauded for his athleticism, coverage, and cognitive ability, which is why he's already competing for PT after Hill and Gbenda. Once he puts on some more weight, he'll be an awesome player.
  14. Yeah, I'm not really sure what bill was saying here. It was clear to me.
  15. No, especially not with the new scholarships limit.
  16. Just providing an answer, no CR, but he's as about far right in his X retweets as one can be.
  17. That part was Shilo, not Shedeur.
  18. Definitely ChatGPT. Commas present and in the correct places. Not to mention the use of "court" instead of "field" or "stadium." Smart kid haha.
  19. Now everybody STFU about DT recruiting!
  20. at :48 seconds. "If you wasn't 235 (pounds), I would've felt that." LMAO.
  21. Yeah, I just looked and so does On3. So, it's entirely possible he could end up there. https://www.on3.com/db/kaydon-finley-156250/
  22. https://247sports.com/player/kaydon-finley-46134911/ Listed as 6'0, 200 lbs. I would assume he'd need to grow another two to three inches to even contemplate playing TE at Texas. I don't know who our resident Aledo expert is here, but maybe they'd have more info on that. Obviously, Finley just started his junior year, so he could still grow in height. His dad was listed at 6'4, so it's entirely possible. It could also be entirely possible he just watches TEs closely due to his dad's background; or that any program that gets TEs heavily involved in the passing attack shows that they utilize a healthy passing games in myriad ways, which could help scheme receivers open too because the defense has to defend more weapons.
  23. Yep, if Texas plays a good (not even great) game, a 10-point (at least) win should occur.
