  15. aggy vs Irish gets 2024 ESPN GameDay ESPN releases highlights of Week 1 college football schedule With a triple-header on their very first Saturday, it's so far, so good for the SEC's new all-in deal with ESPN/ABC. ZACH BARNETT 14 HOURS AGO As detailed on this site previously, the biggest coming change to the college football regular season from a television perspective is that the SEC has now officially left CBS for ABC. The SEC has aired games on ESPN for decades and is already a business partner with Disney through the SEC Network, but college football's premier conference changing network partners will have a two-pronged effect on the way we watch games this fall. First, it means CBS is now all-in on the Big Ten in the 3:30 p.m. ET time slot. And it means ABC will now air SEC games in the morning, afternoon or night. Or, in the case of Week 1's schedule, morning, noon and night. ESPN joined the slow trickle of game time announcements on Tuesday as networks present their fall schedules to advertisers, joining Fox and NBC's announcements of select Big Ten games on Monday. Saturday, Aug. 24 Florida State vs. Georgia Tech at Dublin, Ireland (noon ET, ESPN) Florida A&M vs. Norfolk State at Atlanta (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC) Thursday, Aug. 29 North Dakota State at Colorado (8 p.m. ET, ESPN) Friday, Aug. 30 Temple at Oklahoma (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) TCU at Stanford (10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) Saturday, Aug. 31 Clemson vs. Georgia at ATL (noon ET, ABC) Miami at Florida (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC) Colorado St at TEXAS (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) Western Kentucky at BAMA (7 pm ET, ESPN) Notre Dame at Texas A&M (7:30pm ET, ABC) Sunday, Sept. 1 USC vs. LSU at Las Vegas (7:30pm ET, ABC) Monday, Sept. 2 Boston College at Florida St (7:30pm ET, ESPN) With Notre Dame-Texas A&M garnering the prime time slot, GameDay will be on hand in College Station to herald the beginning of the Mike Elko era (and also the beginning of the 2024 college football season). With a triple-header on their very first Saturday, it's so far, so good for the SEC's new all-in deal with ESPN/ABC.

  17. The highest-paid defensive line coaches in college football: 2024 edition Half a dozen D-line coaches are now within shouting distance of $1 million a year. ZACH BARNETT MAY 13, 2024 The goal of this exercise is to pinpoint, as best we can, the market value for position coaching at the major college football level. To compare apples to apples as best we can. But how does one do that in the case of new defensive line coach Lou Esposito? Esposito signed a 2-year deal worth $1.8 million, where barely half of that figure is base salary. He'll earn a half a million dollar base each of the next two seasons, with a whopping $786,000 signing bonus, plus a $25,000 one-time payment to cover moving expenses. How does one account for a contract where nearly 45 percent of the total value is tied up in one-time bonuses? Ultimately, we decided to discard the one-time moving expense and split the signing bonus over the two years of Esposito's deal. $1.25 million: Bo Davis, LSU $1.202 million: Tray Scott, Georgia $1.167 million: Larry Johnson, Ohio State $1.1 million: Nick Eason, Clemson $1 million: Freddie Roach, Alabama $950,000: Chris Rumph, Clemson $900,000: Rodney Garner, Tennessee $893,000: Lou Esposito, Michigan $875,000: Brian Williams, Maryland* $800,000: Todd Bates, Oklahoma $750,000: John Papuchis, Florida State $725,000: Randall Joyner, Ole Miss $700,000: Mark Hagen, Louisville; Kevin Peoples, LSU $685,000: Odell Haggins, Florida State $650,000: Miguel Chavis, Oklahoma $620,000: Kelvin Bell, Iowa $600,000: Tony Tuioti, Oregon $575,000: Gerald Chatman, Florida $550,000: Kenny Baker, Texas; Terrance Jamison, Illinois $525,000: Legi Suaiaunoa, Michigan State $522,000: Buddha Williams, Indiana $500,000: Josh Aldridge, Auburn; Brick Haley, Purdue; Vontrell King-Williams, Auburn; JC Price, Virginia Tech; Anwar Stewart, Kentucky $490,000: Charley Wiles, NC State $475,000: Lewis Powell, Utah $460,000: David Turner, Mississippi State $450,000: Deke Adams, Arkansas $425,000: Pat Kuntz, Indiana $400,000: Terrance Knighton, Nebraska; Travarian Robertson, South Carolina Missing: Brian Early, Missouri; Oscar Giles, Houston; Tony Jerod-Eddie, Texas A&M; Jason Kaufusi, Washington; Ted Monachino, North Carolina; Paul Randolph, Oklahoma State; Diron Reynolds, Arizona State; Joe Seumalo, Arizona; Jess Simpson, Georgia Tech * - Defensive coordinator

  19. Denard Robinson no longer on Michigan staff DOUG SAMUELS 12 HOURS AGO Denard Robinson, an iconic former Michigan quarterback who had been on the staff in Ann Arbor, is no longer part of the program. A spokesperson confirmed the news with ESPN. Robinson, the Wolverines assistant director of player personnel, was suspended last month following an arrest for driving under the influence He enjoyed a decorated career as a player, earning First-Team All American honors in 2010 to go along with Big Ten MVP and Offensive Player of the Year honors. He was drafted by the Jaguars in the 5th round in 2013 and designated an "offensive weapon" as his official position. After a four-year career with the Jags, he would go on to join the organization as an offensive analyst and then an offensive quality control coach and scouting assistant before joining Jim Harbaugh's Michigan staff in 2022. The incident marked the second time a Michigan staffer had been booked on DUI charges this off season before being dismissed by first-year head coach Sherrone Moore. The first incident came when former defensive line coach Greg Scruggs was booked on the same charges prior to his dismissal.

The Turkish guard does not have a specific job description, but he is tasked with aiding coach Rodney Terry, who once coached Balbay, in developing and mentoring players during the long NCAA season."
