  1. So.... are we still bitching about out inability to recruit on defense? Does PK and Choate and crew still suck?
  2. So Watts and Holmes at CB and Barron at Nickle plus ?? at safety now..
  3. So then now what? Are they trying to reel in someone new or just going to celebrate? Pretty impressed how stress free today has started.
  4. Bet you money that didn’t come from Gilbert or the UT side of things…
  5. He’s going to end up with a Rice MBA or other high end masters out of this. If he has played his cards right he has a Bachelors from Georgia (USC would have been better but what can you do) a masters from WVU and a second one from Rice (doubt he gets to transfer anything over from WVU so hopefully he got one and stats another at Rice).
  6. I find it interesting that they view it that because Spencer left Texas decided they had room to go after Akana, not Akana decided he liked Texas and we told Spencer’s after his UH stunt that he processed himself and to find a new landing spot.
  7. I know it’s unlikely but please don’t let Card transfer to Bama. I just don’t want to hear the bullshit either way if he goes there with us playing them. I am running through the list of above average guys that would bea JR that needs a bump in exposure or a SR that could use the payday and networking and I can squint and maybe see Hartman from WF as a target or Harris from UTSA as people that could be drug into the portal.
  8. I am sitting here scratching my head about Bama and the portal in regards to their QB for next season. We all saw Milrone… he’s not it. I know they have a bad ass R-FR waiting in the wings, but that doesn’t seem like Saban to do that unless he absolutely has to. So who is it going to be? The Maye news might have scuttled Saban’s preferred target but I doubt the prince of darkness himself is going to not bring in someone as a stopgap.
  9. Well, their current QB is going to be a 1st rounder so, not sure weird, but I would have expected a bigger landing spot.
  10. So who the hell is going to be the Bama QB? I was convinced that they would have brought in one of the big names, but right now …
  11. Don’t think the US I’ll be that forgiving, but artillery and the Turkish and other systems are another matter. No HIMARS or ATTACMs over the border, but they can instead use those to hammer around Crimea and shift the others North now. This way they can prep a push east/south and still pressure the RU in the north with the real fear that the primary rail hub into Belarus could also become a target…
  12. So the Ukraine is now targeting stuff over the border near Belgorod with artillery… Surprise surprise, you push forces down within Belarus towards the Ukrainian border, the UKA pushes toward Belgorod. This is just a subtle message that any invasion push towards Kyiv will then see an equal push into Russian territory (which is a critical supply and repair depot for what is left of that front) and the RU has to decide how futile their potential advance would be vs what would happen if the UKA then invade Russian soil as a retaliation. I suspect that the next thing we will see is a public declaration from the Ukraine that any joint attacks with Belarus would constitute that this is not a police action or local matter and as such invasion over the Russian border is considered justified under international law.
  13. Fucked around and processes himself…
  14. Without USC and UCLA to drive tv numbers, I am really curious what the “engagement” numbers would actually look like. Without being digital only there are a few ways to manipulate traffic and viewer numbers. The problem is with a select few games farmed to CBS (I expect this to be the weekly big ranked matchup and if not available default to Oregon) what big fan base is going to be there to drive digital engagement impressions? Part of the value of college athletics is to provide a “front porch” to the university through branding and visual reach. How does that happen when most teams are going to be relegated to prime? How would you feel as say the AD or President of AU or ASU knowing that you won’t get any real tangible return for the university brand as a whole with this deal. All this does is make the AD “whole” from a revenue escalation perspective to not be left behind from the other P5s. It does little to nothing for expanding the brand or attract new student/talent to the university. If this is the “deal”, I am real curious how many schools are already panicking and looking to move ASAP.
  15. Basically since he’s one of the more tight lipped recruits he is one of the few (outside of those who we expect to gone) who they can run the last minute handwringing game over to help put in a sense of drama to the class… That will be $9.95
  16. Funny enough, it is a shit deal but might still be a step up from the Pac12 Network debacle. But if I were a University President or AD, this would be a discouraging sign. I don't care how tech savvy the west-coast thinks they are, not being on air/cable makes it a complete loss for the casual fan and unless you have a vested interest in the program or league or are completely stream dependent for your sporting options, your not swapping over to prime to see whats on. Worse, if I am tied to online only, what keeps me from hoping on say streameast and throw up multiple streams that are being bounced off of prime instead of dealing with their login?
  17. So the SBJ is saying that the best case deal for the Pac12 is a slight bit more than the B12 and it will all be on Amazon except for a slight carve out on CBS... So at this point if I was one of the 4 corner schools it is time to bail. This is like the Pac12N on steroids with all your media eggs on a digital platform which means very little to the common fan.
