  1. The 2018 WC miss was because we lost to T&T 2-1 in the final match. Our lone goal scorer in that match, Pulisic. Below is a list of those who played in that game. I don't think the 2018 failure had much to do with the 2022 roster. I do see a lot of that heralded 2014 roster below.
  2. That crap from Taylor is exactly the click bait BS the current players are calling out. It's just full of speculative opinions about effort and desire. He then suggests somehow we've regressed from the 2014 WC. 2014 WC Advanced out of Group Stage with 4 points then got knocked out by Belgium next game. 2022 WC Advanced out of Group Stage with 4 points then got knocked out by Netherlands next game.
  3. The “Sleeping Giant” narrative is nonsense. Hopefully, they can eventually ascend to the level of Iowa and USC. This is a make-or-break season for Matt Rhule. If they win 9 games, including a bowl, they likely retain Raiola, and the 2027 recruiting class could be something special. But if they go 7–5, Raiola probably transfers, the recruiting class falls apart, and Rhule enters 2026 on the hot seat with no momentum. The offense should improve under Holgorsen. Special teams should also take a step forward after hiring Ekeler from Tennessee. Last year, they were among the worst in the country. That said, I’m not confident in their defensive line. They lost their top three linemen from last season and may struggle against running teams. They’ll likely need an explosive offense to compensate for what could be a noticeable step back defensively.
  4. Love the optimism, but you're Russian drunk on pre-season Kool-Aid. Right now, I'd guess UCLA as underdogs in 8 of their 12 games. I do think they could take a step forward this year, but I expect the same from your opponents Michigan State, Nebraska, Washington, and maybe even USC. Plus, UCLA still has to face Utah, Ohio State, Penn State, and Indiana, all of which are likely to be strong this season. I think you win 6.

Truly boring and played out, but Adidas gonna Adidas. Still not the worst thing they have been associated with, considering they were founded by a Nazi who reportedly had his own brother conscripted into the army out of jealousy. Also, they made these:
  6. Trail systems might be for crap but the views certainly aren't. Great shots!
  7. Red Bull-Bora should be an interesting team to follow next year. They just signed Remco Evenepoel. So last years TDF third place finisher/white jersey winner (Remco) will ride with this years TDF third place finisher/white jersey winner (Florian Lipowitz) and Primoz Roglic. Could work, could be a ton of drama, fun to watch either way.
  8. Last two stages were great as well. Maeva Squiban took stage 6 breaking away solo with 32k to go winning by over a minute. She followed that up with a Pogi style attack on a stage 7 climb with 23k to go winning again by over a minute.
  9. Well I appreciate the bump from Mr. Coker. I didn't see this previously and I would have definitely missed out. Also, not surprising to see this racist trainwreck of a woman supports Pedo State.
  10. Certainly he and his team principal know far more than I do. I just question if trying to respond to Matteo and Jonas personally in the mountains is the smartest decision. We shall see.
  11. Time will tell but not sure Tadej or Jonas can drop one another this year. Matteo might be the most important rider for Visma. If he can narrow the time gap a bit, then Tadej may have to respond to attacks from both Matteo and Jonas. That said, if I'm Tadej I'm just riding Jonas's wheel and making Matteo prove he is a serious threat.
  12. Hats off to MVP today, one hell of a ride.
  13. Damn, Tadej, save some jerseys for the rest of the peloton
  14. I'm not even sure he will Red Bull BORA's main GC rider this tour. Lipowitz is a decade younger and in much better form as of late.
  15. Not an ideal first two days for Remco. Already down ~45 seconds to Tadej and Jonas. I don't think he is a real threat to them but I'm sure had desire to stay much closer before the mountains.
  16. I think Visma might be a touch stronger than UAE. That said, it didn't matter in the Crit Du Dauphine. Tadej just took all their blows and accelerated on steepest climbs where Jonas couldn't match. I do think Jonas can stay within striking distance this year and pounce should Tadej have an unexpectedly bad day.

Please get these two teams on each others schedule ASAP.

I assumed they were an Adidas school with this over-styled crap.
  19. Just discovered this and its been excellent so far. Such a fun read.
  20. It was a terrible move. That said, Max has a history of dive bombing into corners, albeit with more control, initiating contact so:
  21. I started watching Anime to connect with my niece and nephew. I still watch some even when they aren't around. Attack on Titan is GOAT for me. Death Note was enjoyable for a few seasons. Neon Genesis Evangelion was interesting as it explored the physiological impacts on child warriors. Berserk might be one of the most depressing things I've ever watched. Vinland Saga is maybe worth a watch, Game of Thrones meets anime. I couldn't get into Demon Slayer or Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, although both are widely praised. Non-traditional anime I enjoyed: Castlevania and Blue Eyed Samurai.
  22. Heading there in a few weeks with some friends. Want to do some of the Bourbon Trail without worrying about driving. How did any of you manage this: uber or tour shuttle? If the latter, any shuttle recommendations?
  23. Stage 4 of Dauphine was interesting with Jonas beating Tadej by 29 seconds. Was Tadej mortal? Stage 6 Tadej looked like a machine once again, dropping Jonas, Remco, and others on a climb to win by over a minute.
  24. Giro has been amazing to follow this year. But the TDF has Tadej and Jonas, that will be more than enough.
