  1. That’s kinda the point though. It’s 3 points and McLaren is worried about who’s feelings are going to get hurt because they screwed up a year ago and don’t know how to handle the situation with any maturity. Maybe I’m wrong because I haven’t been into F1 that long but 31 points with 8 races left doesn’t seem like it’s a done deal for Piastri. All it’s takes is a Kimi kamikaze or an engine failure to make it close for Piastri. It’s a luxury for McLaren till it’s not.
  2. I don’t understand it. If McLaren was my team, I’d be frustrated as hell at the way they’re going about this.
  3. It was dumb in Hungary and they’ve continued to compound the issue now with Piastri trying to win the championship. They’ve consistently been shit at handling this.
  4. Seems weird McLaren is worried about a position swap with the points leader that late in the race. It just comes off as a manufactured title fight when stuff like this happens. What’s going to happen if Piastri has a PU failure and gets a DNF resulting in Lando catching up in the points? From that point on is McLaren going to let drivers deal with consequences of bad strategy or pit crew failures? If not, will Lando or Piastri be willing to do a swap later in the season?
  5. I don’t have 24/7 nor do I know what particular route he’s throwing in this image.
  6. I’m not judging in hindsight. I specifically said the picture going around would have gotten Wingo hurt if Arch decides to throw it then. He should have thrown the ball earlier when the rub/pick was set. The corner was trailing Wingo by his third step. Wingo had less reaction time with the safety screaming down on him on the seam route earlier in the game. We can agree to disagree on this one.
  7. In order for Texas to be successful they had to be lighter in the box to help contain one of if not the best WR groups in college. And yet, the Ohio st Oline was barely able to get a consistent push against our front, only rushing for 77 yards at 2.3YPC. Ohio st has a pretty good Dline even if it’s not as deep as Texas. Their edges and LB core also played good and had some unknowns that are now on peoples radar. And we all know how good Downs is in the box and sniffing out runs. So I just have a hard time believing our Oline played bad while getting 4.5YPC with 3 to 4 new starters and blocking for a running back coming off a knee implosion. Paul seems to always be hypercritical of the lines, whether it’s not being tough enough or going on one of his S&C tirades that he loves to do. The Oline could have been better in certain situations but there was stuff outside of their control that had a bigger impact on the game.
  8. Sark said post game the first read was to Wingo.
  9. If you throw that ball in the snapshot taken then yes, a lot of bad can happen. Wingo was open right off the rub which is the read and it gives Wingo plenty of room to not get decapitated. It’s a bang-bang play that Arch needs to be quick with trigger on. The ball to Sanders, are you talking about the one against Oklahoma?
  10. That would only make sense if Arch wasn’t able to make long, on a rope throws. The drop to Endries and the rope to Wingo in the fourth are good examples of throws that he would not be able to make if he was injured. He was also over throwing WRs with zip on the ball as well. Like I said, a common theme of his bad throws was bad mechanics from the ground up. All of Arch’s good throws had good mechanics.
  11. Not really. The majority if not all of his bad throws were mechanically bad from the ground up. If someone has a hurt arm their foot work shouldn’t be impacted on the majority of their throws.
  12. Agreed. His throwing motion is already a little wonky and him trying to do the side arm stuff is going to highlight that even more. Philip Rivers’ throwing motion was akin to the mechanics of a trebuchet and any time he went off platform it looked awful. Arch isn’t as bad as Rivers though.
  13. He fell/tripped.
  14. Yeah, I understand exactly what the schematics are of the defense. My school did some cover 3 cloud. But my point was largely about the QB, and you put it more broadly of being able to execute longer drives. Arch clearly didn’t have the patience for it with a decent run game. During Sarks time here we’ve face good secondary’s and it largely hasn’t been an issue outside of a couple of teams that were better upfront, or a first time QB seeing it live. We had a good enough run game on Saturday to the point where if Arch isn’t so erratic, Texas walks away with a win and no talks about the Ohio st defensive scheme being a problem for Sark outside the redzone.
  15. Idk if it’s truly Sarks nemesis or if the QB needs to have plenty of live reps to actually understand how be successful against the defense. Like others have said, there were plenty of guys open and Arch didn’t see it or he made the wrong read. Feels like every QB has initially gone through this with Sark and he hasn’t found a way to better prepare them for it other than fail on game days.
  16. The Ohio st secondary was phenomenal with their communication and reads. It has been a minute since I’ve seen that type of execution from a secondary and it helps when they basically have Troy Polamalu jr out there. Georgia is maybe the only team that can replicate what the Ohio st secondary did. Arch still left some meat on the bone with a handful of plays. He just wasn’t seeing the field well at all. But Arch will be better going against this type of defense in the future especially if the run game holds up.
  17. The first play of the highlight was almost exactly like his first play yesterday.
  18. Nash Talks Texas on Twitter or YouTube. He’s pretty good and gets the vids up quick.
  19. Hadjar getting a podium with that tractor makes me happy.
  20. The 4th down run that ended the drive on the first series was an RPO. Arch clearly missed the read. He keeps it or pops it to Endries and it’s an easy first.
  21. If I remember correctly, on the second and goal play where they pulled Hutson, if Arch follows him to edge it’s an easy score. Thought it was weird that Arch just went directly to up the middle. I also don’t know the schematics of the play and if Hutson was supposed to go inside and it threw Arch off.
  22. I’ll be eager to see the QB schools all 22 of the game. There were a couple of plays where Arch was waiting for guys to get open and by the time he went to throw it was too late. Then there were times the WRs got no separation hardly at all. Howe’s point is true. On the flip side, Ohio st was pretty vanilla as well. Sayin just didn’t turn the ball over and executed what our defense gave him. The first td was aided by our dumb penalties and the second td to Tate was under thrown but he gave his guy a chance at least. I wasn’t a fan of the overall game plan from Sark but I’m struggling to see how it was the ultimate deciding factor in the loss. Our second deep redzone drive that ended up as a turn over on downs wasn’t called horribly. Better throw from Arch to Wingo at the minimum makes it first and goal. The fourth down play, Wingo was wide open on the slant and maybe even scores. I don’t know the read on that one tho.
  23. I keep seeing you say this and while I agree with about half of it, I think it’s a reasonable expectation for your QB to be able to hit the easy plays the that the defense gives you. The first drive alone there were 2 obvious plays where he simply did not execute. The last drive was kinda the opposite of Ewers in execution. No way Sark is calling that route to Endries with Ewers due his poor execution with that type of throw. But Arch can’t make a baddass throw like that and then turn around and fail on a simple flat route to Endries or the crosser to Wingo. We rightfully ridiculed Ewers with the same missed execution to Golden on a crucial play against Clemson. He needs to be money on those plays. Again, I agree that Sark had some wtf play calls.
  24. Arch couldn’t even recognize the easy RPO read on the first 4 down fail. What are we even doing here?
  25. It’s hard to get into a flow when the first play of the game has a wr schemed wide open and Arch throws it 5 yards in front of the wr. Arch couldn’t even throw a simple fire screen without it ending up as a 3yrd loss. Sarks shit starts in the redzone and that needs to be fixed asap.
