  1. I agree with you that Kyrie deserves the large majority of blame for this situation but Durant is not blameless. He was the lead agent in getting Kyrie over to Brooklyn, and there were clear warning signs about Kyrie's willingness to march to his own beat even at the time. The chance of this blowing up over any random thing was higher with Kyrie than it would have been with a different player, and this does (imo) impact Durant's legacy. Not the lead cause but a cause of this collapse. Now 100% would not call him a pussy / bitch / etc., over this situation.
  2. I think even the Lakers wouldn't be bad for his image. It would be bad for him as that team is too broken / old but it is not a super team. Same for the Lakers - they have no history and PGIII and KL are both too nutso / injury prone to be viewed as a super team. I think the Warriors (for obvious reasons) and Boston are probably the only two franchises that he would get pasted for if he joined.
  3. Come on, it's Key-Largo, it's right in her twitter feed. Next you'll ask what CB stands for.
  4. I accept your nomination. Errr, I am one of them, right? I'll govern just like Sack, I pinky swear!
  5. Eh, this is the last I'll say just because I don't think anyone wants to read a bunch of back and forth, but I don't think we are super far off. My argument is that saying he's okay with Jan 6 / daughter carrying rapist child is more disingenuous because he would (again truthfully) respond that he's not ok with those things. On a scale of 1 to 10, those might even be a nine on the "Susan Collins" concern scale. But his desire for more money is a ten on that same scale. Yeah I'm selfish about my career. It uses resources and energy and all that stuff. But I also work to offset that in both my voting and giving activities. There is nothing a priori wrong about being selfish, on that I agree.
  6. This makes no sense at all. By his account (and I fully believe him) he isn't in favor of recent SC decisions or Jan 6, the big lie, etc. So no criticism there. But he will continue to vote for those outcomes despite that because his salary is more important. If someone votes for the "beat black people and get a free puppy" party and (again, truthfully) says "hey, I like black people, I don't want to beat them but I can't turn down a free puppy", is it wrong to criticize the result when black people are beaten? Is that weak?
  7. You're right. We should all stop consuming anything made with petroleum products. Very strong "and yet you participate in society" vibes. He is transparently selfish and in such a way that he has made a conscious decision that his salary overrides abortion access, fair access to voting, living school children, a functioning democracy, etc. He is likely a swell guy to have a beer with, and may express sorrow for all of those things but still votes to take all those things away.
  8. It's fucking bizarre. To his complete credit he's the most transparent poster I've ever seen about his priorities, and people still act flabbergasted.
  9. So, would you confidence in Hill be something like 60.4279% chance? Approximately?
  10. Ah yes, my college days of drinking elite Captain Morgan, elite Smirnoff, and mixing in elite Baileys. Whatever would I have done without those elite alcohols.
  11. Every time I see this magnificent gif I am re-amazed that it isn't from SNL or a sitcom but rather an actual court case:
  12. I should have used /s tag - I am certain that nobody actually thought you were the Penelope in the question. My bad.
  13. You wanna explain yourself @PenelopeWitherspoon?
  14. Why don't you do that for us?
  15. You misread that. Someone said it was on the way to being the best 1st season of a series, which I think it pretty clearly true. I think the last episode was the weakest with a forgettable 1st 40 minutes but comparing this to tng, ds9, etc 1st seasons and it's no contest. That said DS9 season 6 is best trek season. Come at me bro.
  16. Que? Obviously you like what you like but what definition of summer movie are you using that includes Lean On Me?
  17. Right. That's what at the most it would be some kind of renewable (by PP, not necessarily Fed) lease.
  18. Yes. I don't know the mechanics or if it's possible but something like a 2 year renewable lease for $1 would at least start to make sense but just giving would be dumb.
  19. @immamac - what do you think about a sticky for posters who live outside of Texas and are willing / able to host anybody who needs reproductive care? @PenelopeWitherspoon (NY obviously) and @mchookem (Soon-to-be CO) have mentioned this. I'm in CA and when the news hit Friday one of the first things my wife said was trying to figure out how to help others who don't live in places were abortion or other care is possible. I image we are not the only ones.
  20. I mean I know people talk about how basketball nowadays is positionless but...
  21. Got damn tech companies and cute spellings of words.
  22. So much for all that “they don’t hang banners in June” talk I guess.
  23. Again you are being obtuse (I suspect intentionally so). If a legislator voted for a specific bill or if someone supported a specific piece of legislation then there is a critical difference about using that legislation against them vs a non-supporter.
  24. And @Brisketexan @Dahobbs (and potentially @TwiceHorn) - do you know if there is anybody that actually has been sued this way? Can non-Texans actually sue under this bill, and if so, how judgement proof would "nuisance suits" be? I am 100% serious about filing against literally every daughter / wife of any Texas Republican senator who voted for this bill if I can and am actually free from penalty. I know you can't give binding legal advice over the board so hell, PM me and am willing to actually have a call to discuss.
