  1. Boston's been fortunate with injury luck this post-season. Not a knock on Boston, almost every champion has injury luck, but the Heat missing Lowry is bad for the Heat. Of course Middleton is the big one - I suspect the Bucks win that if they have Khris that series.
  2. Osteen certainly sucks but I don't get the impression that he is overtly political in his church. At least, no more than we are in my UU church where we work for <gasp> social and racial justice, assistance for undocumented students, climate change, etc. I wouldn't want churches taxes unless super blatantly political. Now the Tennessee dude? Yea, fuck him and his "church".
  3. You, Immaculate, Wulaw, BrothaHorn, Poe, Sack, Trey, Seed, etc., are never ever going to vote D for president regardless. You can collectively say you don't like Trump, and hell I even believe you. But your vote is lost, it isn't coming back. I think there's a lot more potential votes to get trying to help people that need help than trying to reach those who are already lost.
  4. Just saw it. Didn't hate it but definitely mediocre. Really threw me off right from the beginning when Strange was saying "What, there are multiverses and they're real? Tell me more!" Mother fucker, we just watched you in the latest Spiderman literally bring people in and out of multiverses.
  5. Yes, I only tangentially followed the Aduhelm process as was reported in news media but it sure seems like a complete shit show of a process. Do you have any idea about turnover at FDA? The question behind that is, is this something that is typically long-term staffers or more phased with presidential terms. I don't ask to say it's Biden's or Trump's fault but more to wonder if there is a way out of this or if this has been just a long downwards trend that is just becoming evident.
  6. "Guys, why won't you reasonably participate in my totally earnest conversation about getting boosters every 30 minutes?!?!" [/slorch] There's definitely a reasonable conversation about vaccine and booster efficacy to be had. but when you start conversations with stupid shit like you do, don't be surprised when you're not a part of that reasonable conversation.
  7. Yes surveying the Warriors, Mavericks, Celtics, and Heat I definitely see teams centered around tall people. Clearly the recipe for success in the NBA. If Smith is there at 3 I happily take him but I don't think he will be. I'm scared of Chet. The Rockets aren't good enough to turn down really good players and I think I've will be a really good player year 1.
  8. Don't think so. Banchero is the x factor. I would be thrilled if Ivey drops though.
  9. Smith or Ivey for me. Nothing sets back a rebuild like a whiff, ask the 76ers. I don't know that chet will whiff but I don't think his upside offsets the much larger chance of being a whiff.
  10. Me too. Sorry thought the joke was clear but misfired. I feel like I should know but also am not sure.
  11. Oh come on it's been posted like 3 or 4 times. Hell Wulaw himself has probably mentioned it every time he steps out of the sex tent. It's a well known fact at this point. It's... something like 3 I think? Maybe 4? Definitely better than 6.
  12. Fair enough. I suspect that the other was viewed as just a troll thread hence just deletion, no salvaging for an actual discussion. I don't think this was intentionally started as a troll thread but the OP was dumb and did an effective job of poisoning the well. But discussion is at least possible. Just my thoughts, obviously not a mod. Both @52-80 and whatever his name is (Hollywood colt something or other) were stupid in different ways.
  13. Did you read the thread before it was nuked? Last time I saw it was maybe 10-15 posts, with all but one or two being a variation of "this thread is stupid".
  14. Two things can be true. Draymond is clearly a very smart and athletic defender. He also commits a lot of fouls that aren't called, in large part because he is so smart. Just like Maddox used to get any questionable pitch (and a fair amount of unquestionable pitches) called a strike due to earned reputation for control, Draymond more than gets the benefit of the doubt. When you are not a Warriors fan that gets pretty fucking irritating.
  15. So you went through the effort of starting a post and linking a news article without reading the first paragraph of the article you are linking to (or even reading the URL)? "FOLLOWING the death of a 16-year-old boy – who was shot dead in Chicago – police made two arrests after reports of an active shooter left two wounded." I'm pretty sure it's not over the Buffalo massacre.
  16. Have to agree. I certainly don't miss @Onboard 2.0 at all but his suspension that led to his tantrum was similarly capricious. Now there are certainly some that literally only come in to this forum to troll and avoid discussion (e.g. clapclap. caponeta) but for all his shitiness Sack will actually occasionally respond. I'm also not sure he gets more personal than others do to him.
  17. You mean losing a race to closetojumping another surly poster?
  18. How does the hand take the length?
  19. Ah yes - the "I'm reasonable and I think this, therefore reasonable people think this" approach. Just because you (or even necessarily the majority of people) think something does not make it reasonable.
  20. Hmm, ask Cisco why they grew so quickly in 5G and networking equipment. I don't think 9-9-6 will be the first response.
  21. Or eating lunchmeat (listeria risk), unpasteurized milk, etc. If we put a little effort into we could really create the perfect environment for developing fetus, mother be damned. Of course once it's out, good luck little fella - you're gonna need it.
  22. I think part of it is also like a formal strike / warning. Yes he can likely get in to a game either at Dallas or somewhere else, but if he's caught then he is formally trespassing and can have charges brought to him (no lawyer).
  23. Narrator: they did send over the smartest guy they got.
  24. Hah, he didn't specify MLB ballparks. Bringing in minors makes it at least possible, but extending it to little league makes it a little tougher.
