  1. That was Arch at QB
  2. Thanks for posting, interesting to see. Yeah the first two aren't really on Banks (although you could argue he held on the first one). I think he did give up one to Mykel Williams later that was probably his fault though. Regarding Quinn - last year his pocket presence was his biggest weakness. This year before the injury, he was VASTLY improved shifting around in the pocket to buy time while keeping his eyes downfield. I was pumped seeing it. After his injury though, that improved pocket presences seems to be completely gone. I doubt he's still physically hurt but I think that injury, and maybe Arch pressure, has gotten in his head.
  3. After reading the UT release, I'm guessing the revenue share is technically for NIL, but not exclusive NIL rights. So the school is paying them for the right to use their NIL all over the place, but they can still do endorsements with other companies.
  4. Can someone explain this future rev share stuff to me: Does this mean Title IX applies, so basically ~11mm can be shared with men and ~11mm to women? What does "revenue mostly shared by buying player NIL rights" mean? Does that mean the school owns exclusive NIL rights, so if an athlete wants to do a commercial, the school has to approve it and gets paid for it?
  5. Just from my casual live viewing, seemed like run defense was a little soft. The CSU RB had 100 yards at 4+ ypc. Felt like mostly quick passes from CSU so not a ton of pass rush opps.
  6. What was he about to say was his most controversial quote before he stopped himself lol...
  7. Random question but what happened to Jacoby Matthews from ATM? He entered the portal but I can't find a peep about where he ended up, if anywhere. Seems odd
  8. anyone have this? Ross Bjork emails on potential Mark Stoops hire (theeagle.com)
  9. I haven't followed 2025 recruiting closely so can someone give me a serious summary of why this class is off to such a shitty start despite the best season in a decade? Was Glasscock that important? Has Sark lost his mind all of a sudden?
  10. SIAP but has it been reported/confirmed that Weiner is staying at UT and not going back with Earley? One thing in ATM's favor with this hire - it does give them a chance at a NC next year by keeping the roster together. From that standpoint, it's not a terrible dice roll which they can bail out of within a couple years. But beyond next year, I'd be disappointed if I were an ATM fan.
  11. This drama might do for college baseball what Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese did for WBB. At least a little bit
  12. ATM has no room to whine considering the same shit happened when they hired Schloss and Jimbo. It's laughable. As far as them airing dirty laundry, seems like a classic MAD situation (Mutually Assured Destruction). Anyone think Schloss hasn't seen some illegal shit at ATM? While Jimbo was there?? Lol With that said, ever since he went to ATM (the first time I ever heard him talk), Schloss has given me some slimy vibes. A little Jimbo-esque. Still feel that way. But clearly he's a good coach.
  13. I must say that coaches getting asked about job rumors is always a fascinating thing to watch. It's a no-win situation but there are different approaches to take. Getting angry at the reporter isn't a good look for sure. However, I wonder if there is a little more context to the situation: The reporter was apparently from TexAgs and maybe Schloss knew that the reporter knew he was leaving. In which case, yeah he's pissed that the reporter pushed it out in the open at a time when the players and fans are already hurting. But more likely, that's an orange-colored glasses view and he's just an asshole like most college sports coaches. For real. This Schloss move is just example 3,452 of how college sports coaches are sociopaths. Obviously you don't want someone doing real criminal shit but no one should expect any of these guys to be bastions of morality.
  14. Lol why would Schloss tell anyone ahead of time that he's going to air grievances about ATM at his press conference? Seems like a load of crap
  15. So his whole staff has known about this during the CWS? Wow that's wild
  16. I just Googled his name and got a kick out of this. Nice job AAS!
  17. Picking up the Schloss fam perhaps?
  18. Well one thing is for sure, OTF isn't waffling on this one. They're being fairly obvious reading between the lines and saying it's signed
  19. Or it's not one of those two of course
  20. Gerry (not about a particular candidate): "By done deal ... the firing of Pierce isn't announced unless there is contract signed by the new hire already. It's 100% done."
  21. I don't think CDC would care about stealing thunder from the SEC BUT if his guy is Schloss or Vitello I would sure as hell think they would want him to hold off on creating a distraction. And I would think CDC would oblige.
  22. I still can't imagine a coach winning a NC and immediately leaving for their bitter rival. That would be wild. Even ignoring the rival part, when was the last time a Big 3 sport HC left after winning a national title (excluding pro jobs). I can't think of a single time. I wouldn't be surprised if CDC is doing his buddy a solid at ATM's expense and giving Schloss max negotiating leverage. Also, supposedly Schloss has really been pushing for facilities upgrades at ATM so I suspect that would be a big factor in all this.
  23. Same. I think it'd be a lot more likely if they'd lost in the supers or something
  24. I think there will be way more parity. The percentage gap in payroll between the UGAs/UTs of the world and the TCUs/Northwesterns of the world is about to shrink dramatically. Same reason a small market like KC can build an NFL dynasty while the NY teams haven't won shit in years. One question - does every P5 school HAVE to pay out the full $20mm per year? My understanding is that they do but I'm not sure. If yes, even more parity. If no, then some schools will drop further back but you'll still have some new ones pony up and become competitive.
  25. imo this is just the next step towards college football becoming a minor-league NFL. NIL and collectives still matter but the playing field will be much more level. Think about the NFL - why doesn't every free agent go to NYC or LA? Why don't random fans donate money for player salaries? Because the money directly from the team is the biggest factor by far. What's interesting is to see how different schools allocate the $20mm. First of all, no one seems to know for sure if Title IX applies yet. Beyond that, do some schools go all-in on smaller sports (ie Duke with basketball, Vandy with baseball) or do those same schools use this as an opportunity to actually get good at football (ie Duke/Vandy putting all $20m to football would suddenly make them a serious contender). As for the "where will schools get the money from when their athletic departments are losing money" question...schools will just lose more money in athletics and subsidize it from other places. Sticking with Duke and Vandy examples, both are small schools with endowments in the $10 billion range. $20mm/year is a drop in the bucket, especially if it is partially offset by additional revenue from winning. Bottom line - this feels like a complete ground-shift in the college sports landscape. We're gonna see random P5 schools suddenly pop up as contenders in a variety of sports depending on how each one decides to allocate this.
