Interesting topic.
I currently live in the US and have been for ten years after living abroad for 18. Loved living overseas. Made many friends and had incredible experiences. Never really planned on permanently moving back to the US but stuff happens.......aging parents, relationship, cancer diagnosis, etc.
I will say this, I love living in the US for the conveniences that Americans take for granted.....central A/C, having a car, owning a washer AND A DRYER, good healthcare, etc. Plus, I love sporting events, comedy clubs, National Parks, the food, museums here, etc. America is pretty cool.
Having said that, I used to bump into Americans at parties or at the Embassy or whatever and some would say "I'm not moving back to the US as long as Clinton/Bush/Obama is president". I always thought that was dumb as why would you deny yourself a chance to live in a great country because of the Prez.
Well, I've changed my tune. I wouldn't leave the US because of Trump but I would because of the people. Americans have changed in the last few years and it's not for the best. It breaks my heart to see what's become of the collective thinking of this nation. The people I knew overseas were just better people......and that's sad.
