  1. "had." this is pam bondi's doj now. an outright green light for musk and theil to start engaging in behavior that is so corrupt and anti-competitive that it would make sub-saharan warlords blush. incredible...at the same time as dismantling any domestic consumer protection from predatory behavior. right to our faces.
  2. it didn't hurt that it featured a bunch of incredibly skilled musicians at the top of their games performing pretty high quality music. but yes, it was certainly a production accomplishment. but to say that there are not albums in which the production and post-production are not of the same quality is silly. i would recommend the immersive "in-side" mix version of i/o by peter gabriel from last year (which you will need binaural headphones to actually experience), dark matter by pearl jam, the dune 2 soundtrack by hz, bob clearmountain's work on the immersive release of roxy music's avalon as just a couple of examples.
  3. has there ever been a discussion of recording/engineering/mixing/mastering amongst white dudes that has not ultimately turned to alan parsons, chris thomas, and willy trauggot working with pink floyd? in what manner do you consume music? how do you typically listen? your premise is highly flawed. there is still an incredible amount of talent in the recording, mixing, and mastering engineering ranks. but it is very likely highly related to some of what paul was discussing, and a lot of what jimmyjazz was talking about regarding pre-digital preferences, a bunch to do with the love affair with compression, and likely something to do with the specific artists with whom you are engaged. also, give some examples of songs you think are so inferior in their post-production.
  4. In the last week or so, Hans in Austin at Moody, Lisa Fischer and Orrin Evans at Birdland in New York the next night, and Isakov at Paramount.
  5. prolly a minor. i am not here to wade into the annual tradition of dipshits having a good cultural cry about the super bowl halftime show and how it did not appeal to their preferred artistic aesthetic. that said, it is definitely kind of amazing that for the global spectacle that is the super bowl halftime, we just had it culminate from highlights from some pretty good tracks from DAMN to a climax featuring a diss track from a rapid tit-for-tat feud in which kendrick basically drags drake for being a pedo for the world to see. that's kind of amazing. perhaps it is the second salvo in our new war against our new sworn enemies...the canadians. turns out philly spending the last 100 years drafting the best dlineman out of georgia was a good call. that was an absolute line of scrimmage thrashing and i rather enjoyed it. also glad to see that worthy had some nice plays in garbage time. i will say this about charles omenihu, dude definitely wears his emotions on his sleeve. him bawling on the sideline reminded me of his complete meltdown after losing at kansas in 2016.

    LBGTQ

man, i have been around hornfans, shaggy, and surly long enough to have seen some real non sequitur doozies in my life...but this one may take the cake. if your takeaway from my post was that your opinions regarding marriage and the tax code are not "correct" because the state does not agree with them, you have completely lost the fucking plot buddy.

    LBGTQ

i am not interpreting and assessing the silliness of your previous post to be a direct attack on trans people. you are the one misinterpreting that. i am simply pointing out that what you posted is really stupid because it is akin to posting "hey, i have the opinion that the concept of marriage and the tax code are antiquated and wrong and, despite acknowledging that the united states does not currently agree with my opinion and that there are practical implications of day-to-day life that are tied up in those status determinations and how impactful it may be to other peoples' lives that are being discriminated against, you should just get over it because in my fucking idiotic fantasy land in which the world works according to king dixonhur, it would hypothetically not matter because there would be no administrative or governmental implications to marriage (which i, dixonhur, acknowledge is not the reality in which we live) and love conquers all." instead of constantly painting yourself as a victim on this board while pretending to espouse fourth grader libertarian bullshit, think about what the people that are responding to you are saying. "hey, my legally issued passport is now invalid because it has an x gender denomination so my trip to french polynesia to have copious amounts of group sex with french models is now not happening." dixonhur: "well in my world, you would never need a passport so you should just get over it and get on with life."

god damn you post some unbelievably stupid fucking shit sometimes.
  9. something very few people know about this story is that while he was in prison, a woman visited ross on the reg and they ended up getting married while he was in jail. wonder how that's going to go. fucking costanza, always a visionary.
  10. someone with some editing skills needs to put "new chatgpt" on here with some sort of "founding of deepseek" jian yang meme.
  11. @Hank Kingsley my participation on this thread has not been serious heretofore (though i have thought about a threesome with blake and amber before and i do have a velvet tux now) but having actually read a couple of posts, it seems like you have really spent a lot of time with this. I don't question your enthusiasm for the issue but for someone like me ready to jump in and make a judgment on who should live and who should die in this situation, I have noticed that you have been pretty emphatic in the last few pages that the most recent evidence on this has pretty clearly painted blake as the aggressor and abuser that stands in the wrong and that baldoni is somewhat vindicated. i am not disputing said conclusion at all but, while i acknowledge i may have completely just missed it in my review of the thread, i can only recall you making reference to said evidence but haven't shared it. can you point me to what you are relying on to reach such emphatic conclusions? i fear if i go looking for it myself, i will be exposed to a bunch of nonsense before inevitably finding my way to the blake nudes she sent to affleck during "the town."
  12. i used to concur with this opinion but hedonistic modernity has gotten to me and now i strongly disagree. i just had a tux made at tom ford in velvet and it is fucking amazing. costanza was ahead of his time.
  13. Hmm, after reading this thread and giving all sides of the debate their due attention and consideration, I have concluded that a ménage with Blake and Amber when they were 25 sounds more potentially dangerous and long-term frustrating/expensive than it always played out in my head four thousand times.
  14. Also, let’s not try and sanewash what Trump did as some sort of stand against drug sentencing abuse. If so, the list is long but we don’t need to speculate. We know this was purely transactional as he states.
  15. I’m not representing it as anything other than evidence of his actions and character. I suspect they were concerned about their ability to convince a jury that there was no reasonable doubt that it wasn’t someone else controlling the handle at the time or that it was just locker room cosplaying talk (which I believe his appeal and an amicus brief actually claimed if I’m remembering correctly). regardless, it shows me who he was at the time and I just posted it for people to read since there seems to be a lot of worshipping going on in here.
  16. that's what i was talking about. it is pretty unlikely that the pardon would nullify the civil asset forfeiture process.
  17. by the way, if you have never read it before, you should read the transcript that is the basis for the more illicit shit. https://www.wired.com/2015/02/read-transcript-silk-roads-boss-ordering-5-assassinations/
  18. you know the real answer to this. and for all the people that believe he is going to be rolling in all the btc, pardons do not impact civil asset forfeiture. his conviction was final and appeals exhausted. the pardon does not erase the fact of conviction or exempt from civil liability. i am actually curious to see if there are any civil suits brought against him now that he's out by the parents of kid in florida or the parents of the kid in perth or any of the other ones that died. not sure about limitations there.
  19. i love that he apparently curried favor with the masses because of frustration with post-pandemic inflation and in his third day as president, he tells the world economic forum in davos that he is going to "demand that interest rates drop immediately." now i am no economist (wait, yes i am) but... oh well, at least the mortage/real estate thread guys will throw a fun party.
  20. I need some advice on how to get from John O' Groats to Glasgow by way of sprinter van.
  21. you guys bringing up sneakers just gave me a realization. mother was written to be half pimphand, half hagbard celine.
  22. human brains are weird. these kind of stories require me to recall the below photo to stay remotely sane.
