  1. It is pinned. I also provided the video, not just the screenshots, but I can't press play at 4:32 in for you and make your eyes function. Calling a fact is not whining and I acknowleged that it happened fast in real time, so not really accusing the refs here of any bias. I'm not sure the play could be reviewed either, since a flag wasn't thrown, but I think that's the way it goes.
  2. It's a good play because it wasn't called. It's good in the sense that playing that aggresively in the endzone saved a TD and a PI is preferable to 7 on the board. But that's pass interference. A DB is allowed to play the ball, not pin a receivers arms to prevent the catch. You're flat out wrong. There is a difference between an arm and hand around the waist or hip vs pinning arms so they can't catch. You're flat out full of shit to say it wasn't egregious enough to affect the play. I will say though, that in real time, it happens very fast and the official on the field could easily miss it. It's blatant in replay that pinning his arm prevented the catch. Klatt and Gus shouldn't have missed it though.
  3. You weren't wrong about his arm being pinned. Blatant pass interference. I don't know what the turf has to do with this catch other than he would have had to secure the ball after the catch on that play. Not only does his right arm get pinned, but it pulls his body to the right and the DB's body bears his down as both their bodies progress through that catch attempt, so it also prevents any chance of a one handed catch. Replay from 4:32 in.
  4. That was actually a great throw. It wasn’t a drop, because Igbinonus (sp?) had his right arm pinned. Let’s not reverse Mandel Arch here ^^^ This ^^^ ... Ohio State got away with one there and no one in the booth bothered to say anything.
  5. Seems like that would be true for any OC. Despite that there usually were open windows of opportunity. But they are short and need to be recognized quickly. That's the difference between an elite QB and most. Will take time for Arch to become seasoned, but if we're lucky, he'll be a quicky study.

So were Saban and Meyers ...

Are you certain no one was ever wide open? Did you have full view of the field watching the WRs on every single play? I never have that good of camera angles watching it on TV and if you're watching it live in the stadium, it's still tough to be disciplined enough to say you saw it all.
  10. Nice cutback by the LSU receiver.
  11. I don't pretend to know which assistants, if any, require dismissal. Sark isn't Saban though. Indeed, because of Saban, he believes in 2nd chances. Whether that compromises his objectivity is subject to debate. As for Mack and the OL, I don't know how much of it was recruiting vs the OL coach and likewise, the fat S&C coach. But those two were at least question marks to me. But I think poor QB performance from Garrett Gilbert and onward were due to mismanagement. And no small part of that was lack of a running game and poor blocking in both pass-pro and rushing.
  12. I'd argue a major reason Mack lost his job was because he tolerated a putrid OL for over a decade. In his final years, he became more of a hardass because he knew his job was on the line.
  13. That's a good thing IMO. Too soon might be too soon and also affords more opportunities for the backup QBs to get reps, just in case. Hopefully, he does well enough that Sark will feel comfortable pulling him to allow those backups reps.
  14. Gus Johnson in the booth or anywhere near a microphone is abuse to all involved.
  15. Perhaps a more fitting attire is called for ...
  16. I thought the OL played well all things considered. Yes, the penalties need to get cleaned up, but considering their first true start together on the road in that environment, it could have been a LOT worse. There were some encouraging interior runs too against a solid DL. I think better play calling and execution at the GL could have yielded better results there too.
  17. Yep, and of course, a no call. Fortunately they didn't overturn the catch, else that would have fucked us. And that no call was far more egregious than the ticky tacky call on Manny covering Jeremiah Smith. But that ticky tacky call was correct though.
  18. Many would argue he doesn't manage the game well because his focus is split by being both the HC and OC. I don't pretend to know the answer to that, but it's not implausible.
  19. It's one fucking game. The first fucking game. Now go smear your frothing yeasty gash with some Vagisil.
  20. Don't take this the wrong way, but it's already been posted a gazillion times already. Whether that stat is accurate has also been questioned, but I don't think the theme of Arch suffering game jitters is wrong.
  21. Positive rep and yes on both counts.
