  1. As a matter of fact no - I swore off that shithole after Egon started posting his crazy views, did the whole pay to be blue checkmarked, hate speach bullshit. So are you going to answer, for those of us not mindlessly watching the Xwittershpere
  2. There is an easy solution - veto the idea with your wallet. It isn't like there aren't other burger or sammy choices nearby. Unless you are hooked on frostie's there is nothing really unique that they are doing. If you really think it is going to fail, and they lose sales, profits and market share - the look to short the stock (it is publicly traded) or just load up on some puts. The stock is at $18, you can buy Jan 2025 $17 strike puts for about $1, or $13 strike will cost you about $0.25. But then you'd have to post in the stonk thread
  3. Are they not the same people who pay $1,000 for a new iPhone, but it is $33/month for 36 months. So do they sell the VR set for $75/month for 48 months ? It certainly isn't me - I bought a new Moto 5 in December for under $200, it is good enough for me. But there is no cool factor in it.
  4. So I started this thread about 6 years ago, and the media hype has finally caught up with the event. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamiecartereurope/2024/02/24/precisely-319-years-from-today-totality-will-strike-the-midwest-why-one-town-is-preparing-now/?sh=59d2cb3d74eb I was this article, and I will let someone else start the thread for the next total solar eclipse in Lebanon, Indiana are putting together a time capsule for the February 25, 2343 . I will let someone else start that thread, as I maybe sidelined for that one, or bored with them from seeing them around the country.
  5. I feel like someone was bumped up from the kids table to the adult table, and they can't figure out the conversation sitting there. And even worse, this dolt is now 2nd in line behind only Kamala Harris to sit at the head of the adult table. And here we all are waiting to see if they can fund the government by the end of week, and mabye they can slip some cash to Ukraine to prop them up for a bit longer. Methinks that Russia and also China are rethinking the strategy if the USA decides halt funding opposition to tyranny.
  6. Robert the idiot making crazy stupid comments again - don't invest in 401k, invest in metals & crypto instead https://www.gobankingrates.com/investing/strategy/robert-kiyosaki-predicts-401k-plans-iras-will-be-toast/ which is a follow up to this gem (riddled with inaccuracies) https://www.gobankingrates.com/retirement/401k/rich-dad-robert-kiyosaki-reveals-why-the-401k-is-a-horrible-retirement-plan/
  7. You miss the point that Aggy is the best school BECAUSE they didnt hold him accountable. I can't believe I don't have this guy picked for my death pool.
  8. I am "only" down $30 per option on my BRK.b since yesterday's open, though I am still up I am kicking myself for not having a open order to sell options as they go up, as some of them would have triggered at the open yesterday - at least 1/2 of what I have open. So each option is now worth $3.000 less than at yesterdays open. Oh well I'm sure it will rebound, at some point - and I will get the opportunity to buy on the dip when Warren kicks off or steps down, but then again he may outlive me.
  9. Kinda makes me wonder how many BRK billionaires there are
  10. BRK.B market action today premarket Me at the close of market
  11. BRK.b acting like a stonk this morning - jumping in the pre-market over 5% ($20) it opened up about $12 and is not trading at a small loss for the day. And all on "news" that broke on Saturday, when earnings was released. Who know an almost $1 trillion insurance/industrial/stock investment conglomerate would swing like this on the ramblings of a 93 year old icon and a couple of analysts reports. Stocks (and markets) can become stonks - for really undetermined reasons. America - what a country!
  12. Gotta love Uncle Warren saying that, at this point, BRK is basically to big to beat the market by any significant amount. And that it will be difficult to make acquisitions or investments that are large enough to contribute to BRK performance. And he does this as BRK.b is up 17% YTD, while the S&P 500 is up about 7%; one year returns are 37.2 vs 28.2; NASDAW is up 6.6% and 40.7 (but BRK is really and industrial not a tech stock) I am waiting to see if the earnings report, or Warrens comments cool the trend of the stock performance. Disclosure - I am holding June 24 and January 25 expiry $400 calls that are up over 4x and almost 2x since purchase (mid November)
  13. 4,3,2,1 (the further away they are from the camera the better they look - providing I've been drinking at the game C'mon, it isn't like they are OU cheerleaders & I will save you the paid of posting the photo ..... you know the one I'm talking about
  14. thanks for the update - but this belongs in the stonk thread, or maybe gambol
  15. Well that is on you, for not averaging down 😆
  16. Try adding the cost of adoption to it after failed IVF. And people ask me why I am still working
  17. note to self - invest in companies that make chastity belts (I mean that is where they are going, right?)
  18. are you asking because you are a pitcher or a catcher? (nttawwt)
  19. Dude - are you trying to replace me. Good luck, I am enjoying my BRK.B calls, someone remind me that to make money you have to sell when you stop holding things that are actually above the cost.
  20. I am surprised at bernoranges post - I thought he would have posted what I am about to The market excitement will last for a while, but when the new jobs report, inflation number and the continued stock market surge is all accounted for the Fed may well unpause their rate increases or at least take any rate decreases of the table for 2024 and likely indicate that none in 2025. Then we will see if the Fed has any real impact on the market (it will drop when they announce, but how long will that last), or are they now just having to step back and watch the economy (I don't think they will give up the battle)
  21. I will join the support group - my story is slightly different though, we went through fertility treatment and the long path that it takes you. That path ended with 2 failed IVF procedures, and previously several failed IUI treatments. We had at least 3 IVF specialists that we worked with, and after the last IVF one of the Dr's said that we should consider adoption. That hit us both very hard; but we regrouped.
