  1. Probably hasn’t been tracked, but has anyone seen a percentage of people who have been vaxed but haven’t received the booster?
  2. Another Round Kinda funny, kinda dark, overall enjoyable. Felt fresh.
  3. The Yankee-angle of SNB somehow gets even stronger. Is there a big A-Rod fan base? He’s terrible.
  4. This seems to support a focused effort on vaccinating the more at risk population rather than creating mandates for college kids, athletes, employers, etc. To me that is the logical common ground that is actually supported by science.
  5. Not to hijack the FIRE thread because I think that is an admirable lifestyle and goal, but this post is where I see my fulfillment as well. There are really 2 things I enjoy more than succeeding in my career. Those things are time with my family/friends and golf (at the moment) - but I do not want to retire early and golf every day, and my job provides a healthy work/life balance so I am able to enjoy time with my family. One of my best friends is a FIRE guy and has been preaching it since college. He will have an enviable lifestyle in 5-10 years, and I couldn’t be happier for him…but I would much rather go in and grind for the next 30 years and experience the highs, the lows, build relationships, and of course try to earn more and more money. I love travel and vacation, too, but after 3 days at the beach I’m excited to go back to work.
  6. I don’t understand the point in canceling anything anymore. It is what it is.
  7. Funny that this topic comes up when there are bonuses being handed out to people to go work at a gas station because the labor market is so tight.
  8. I read Barbarians at the Gate a couple of years ago and loved it. Considered rereading it. Currently reading The Everything Store (Bezos/Amazon), and enjoying it quite a bit.
  9. Seems fine. No real feelings one way or the other.
  10. Anyone fried a Turkey using an infrared fryer? Going that route this year for convenience. Seems too easy.
  11. Chas goes to the bench where he belongs on a good team. Marte/Simmons would be a great way to fill the loss of Correa.
  12. Story is also 2 years older and an inferior defender. But I hope the Yankees get him rather than Correa.
  13. Yeah, plenty of interesting golfers. No complaints on this year’s field.
  14. Went out this afternoon. Memorial such a better spectator venue than Redstone. Attendance and corporate participation should increase year over year in the near future unless the field just goes to complete shit due to scheduling.
  15. I would sign Soler to a 4-5 year deal. Despite his ups and downs his talent has always been real, and he looked unstoppable this series. That right handed bat would complement Yordan/Tucker well. He’s also Cuban so could mesh well with Yuli and Yordan. Get a couple of SPs obviously, too.
  16. Did we go through a 6 game stretch during the season with only 2 homers? Still perplexed by that. Much happier losing to the Braves than the Dodgers. Good for Atlanta.
  17. I think we only have 2 doubles. All I remember is Tucker and Bregman hitting doubles. There is probably 1 I’m missing. When you have 5 extra base hits and your starters can’t get through 4 innings, you should be done in 4-5 games.
  18. Not even sure how we got to a 6th game. Just look at the stats, completely outplayed.
  19. This Braves WS will at least make me think that as long as Crane keeps us competitive there is a chance to win a WS. Let Carlos walk, keep the farm working.
  20. He was great in 18-19 when there was no trash can method. I think it’s his life change (engaged) and his focus on making trivial amounts of money on non baseball stuff (salsa and seltzers). probably a nagging injury too
  21. Brantley, Yordan, and Tucker vs everyone.
