  1. This “blown call” was borderline. It’s hilarious that the media is working up a narrative for Boston clicks. The ump was bad but it went both ways. Shit happens.
  2. Best place to watch the Stros in NYC this weekend? Preferably West Village/SOHO/East Village areas.
  3. Felt a little more cartoony and narratively sloppy this season. Still enjoyable and will watch next season.
  4. Open. Outdoor sports is always better than indoor sports. It’s still loud AF in outdoor playoff baseball, don’t think the difference actually matters. Fully expect it to be closed though.
  5. Did Turner’s last night. Food was not great, service sucked, but it is a fun spot. Probably better to just go and have drinks late with a few bites.
  6. How does proof of vaccination work for restaurants? Can I show a picture of my vaccine card next to my drivers license or do they want the actual vaccine card? Not crazy about traveling with it bc I am bound to lose it.
  7. Well, it seems impossible to find a dinner reservation for 4 people on October 16. Am I too early or are these restaurants really already booked?
  8. Going in mid October for a quick weekend trip w the wife. Really good recs in this thread so I won’t ask for dinner but any suggestions for grabbing a good slice of pizza mid Saturday? And also a spot for day drinking Saturday afternoon - with football as playoff baseball on TV (doesn’t have to be strictly a sports bar)? Staying at the Public hotel in Soho.
  9. It was great, really brought out all kinds of emotions. Wife and I blew through it during quarantine last year.
  10. Watched the Bo Burnham special. Can’t stop thinking about it. Really impressive, funny, and whatever else it made me feel.
  11. Shot an 87 this morning, best round of the year. Got my index down to 13 last year and it climbed all the way up to 18.5 going into today. Nothing noteworthy other than it feels good to play like that again and I don’t know where else to brag about this.
  12. Thought it was funny he was a Cornell guy
  13. Enjoyable. Tons of plot holes. My only thought on Paula walking free was the Mossbauchers knew Paula was involved but are forgiving people and let it slide since she was obviously taking it hard. And maybe for that reason they didn’t press charges on Kai. I don’t know, they just can’t be that dumb. Paula definitely sucked
  14. I loved Scrubs but it had plenty of meaningless dumb episodes.
  15. I’m also a high handicap (18) who can hit it pretty far (per that chart i should be blues/tips) and I’ve found that the course slope is a better way to determine what tees I should be playing. Playing the tips isnt an option for me and usually playing the whites is the most fun.
  16. This show is basically a modern day Scrubs…I can’t imagine several media outlets reviewing and dissecting every Scrubs episode. This was predictable given it’s success last year.
  17. Rush hour was quite a trip today in Houston.
  18. Strong finish to the season. Loved the finale. I assume Ally’s Song didn’t make the album.
  19. I need to replace my pool liner. Any contractors in Houston you guys suggest?
  20. Need the WBC back. I went to the USA/DR game in Miami and it was unreal. I didn’t watch a moment of the Olympics but watching the highlights made me miss the WBC.
  21. At this point I wouldn’t say my wife’s symptoms are minor, but she’s healthy and won’t have to go to the hospital.
  22. Everyone has symptoms. Everyone is healthy, no hospitalizations.
  23. Thanks, that’s the sort of response I was looking for. Still feel like this conversation is being glossed over (not here, just generally) and deserves more attention - although I can understand the hesitancy given there is a nation wide vaccine campaign ongoing.
