  1. Way too much overthinking going on in the secondary, and Cook is no exception. Flashbacks of Will Grier running for the corner and Cook freezes ball watching in the end zone while JaMarr Chase literally runs a circle around him. As a fan I need to see more than that to desire to see the guy starting. He's backing up Green anyway and I think it should stay that way for now. Jamison over Boyce should be the discussion if there's gonna be any leapfrogging on the depth chart.
  2. With regards to Cook, just watch the LSU 2 point conversion and look for #4
  3. My hope is Watson gets significant action against Rice, and opens the coaches' eyes enough to get a few snaps against OSU. Wallace will have a field day on us regardless, but the sooner Watson gets trust from the staff, the sooner we can field a corner with the physical tools to one day match up decently with Wallace, Lamb, Wease, Hazelwood etc. ESPECIALLY when it comes to playing the ball in the air.
  4. For what it's worth, I would have done the same regarding Brock #2 if I was a coach, and I assume any competent head coach in Herman's position would have explored the PWO option in this particular situation. Herman's fault probably lies in trying to push walking on longer than he should have. If the mere suggestion of it caused issues then that's just laughable. In either case, by far the best performing group this season so far for Texas has been the OL and it's not even close imo. That alone should help seal the deal on the targets we really want for 2021. Shackelford was the preseason award nominee and right now he hasn't been bad but is being overshadowed by every other guy on the starting OL. This is fucking awesome and a testament to both evaluation during the Herman tenure and Hand's coaching
  5. A&M out of it for Donovan Jackson? I like the sound of that
  6. Here's a question. Have any of Green, Boyce, Cook or Jamison had a single pass break up this season?
  7. Regarding the 3rd and 17 play, the call is the call and almost paid off. Watching it over in slow motion I like the concept actually. Ossai and Graham get upfield and force Burrow forward into the path of McCulloch, who does a decent job of absorbing the RB and resets to dive at Burrow. Chris Brown is spying and would have secured Burrow had he elected to make a run for it. Where it all went wrong for the defense is such a small margin it's frustrating how close we got. Coburn decides to spin around in front of the LG and had he held ground facing forward most likely he gets his arms or body around to make a difficult throw even harder for Burrow. Sterns then can't keep up with the faster WR, as he's either hiding an injury or somehow got slower. Hindsight is 20/20 but the difference between success and a 60 yard td was Coburn making a useless spin rather than holding ground or driving his legs facing the play... Burrow made the throw jumping up and into his LG after all, and Jeff McC was inches away from pulling at his throwing arm. So close yet so far away.
  8. I wouldn't mind talking about some of this stuff on the football board but half of the fuckers over there hadn't heard of "Ro Jo" until his first carry against LA Tech.
  9. I thought he played poorly against LA Tech but gave him the benefit of the doubt... Looks like accuracy will continue to be a struggle for him this year
  10. This is what happens when our corners are still not up to standard
  11. Attacking the Corners and LBs finally...surprised it took this long
  12. Last year this would have been Orlando's vintage first defensive series no-show... At least now it's late in the first half
  13. Chaisson wants a break from Cosmi goddamn I'm pumped
  14. Maryland is consistently underrated year after year. This has little to do with them beating Texas past two years... They're just taken lightly by seemingly everybody.
  15. I wanted Chaisson in 2017 as much or more than anyone, but if there's a 1 on 1 matchup where I feel Texas is pretty dang ahead on its Cosmi vs Chaisson. That dude will be lucky to get more than one pressure on Ehlinger all game
  16. Charlie Strong, is that you?
  17. Getting some guys back by Okie State is much more urgent than worrying about the OU game. OSU is very solid, much more of a Big 12 contender than any of ISU, BU or TCU. We cannot get beat by mullet again. Gbenda is actually a great choice for interim 3rd string. Hardnosed athletic dude that can run fast, has good size for RB and loves contact. He played both RB and wildcat QB in high school and Jake is much more useful in the game plan to beat LSU as a slot receiver/return specialist.
  18. By far the most impressive thing about Tom Herman, is how he manages to not btfo of these dumbass reporters every presser
  19. For me, the clear winner is Braun. The difference in the way he approached each snap versus the abomination that was Patrick Vahe throughout most of his career is night and day. Braun played with great strength and balance, but also had speed and reaction time to block downfield. Vahe could do absolutely none of that with any effectiveness
  20. Maybe it's camera perspective playing tricks...but that does not look like Collins. I would sooner guess Jeff Mcculloch's little bro
  21. I remember seeing clearly Boyce #38 doing that dumbassery being referenced
  22. This is where Danny Young is a great asset... Let's see if we can actually kill the clock this time
  23. Don't care... Got pick 6. KYS ref
