  1. Texas recruiting notes 2024: Horsemen of the Sarkpocalypse or Archpocalypse
  2. Don't let an overrated Tech loss at Wyoming scare yall. Mcguire is a big game coach ala Tom Herman and only shows up when a win would make the season (see Texas 2022. We win this going away and get 3 QBs into the game
  3. Auburn paid Cam 200k to win one. That's 500 Cams for the price of one Jimbo.
  4. 25% due up front and the rest paid out annually until 2031. This is from the original so I'd expect the extension to be similar.
  5. They're backed into a corner to keep him until next year. Money owed and realistic candidates aside they can't risk hiring a dud and having a mass exodus before our first game there in a decade. 49-0 against OU was glorious but 49-0 in College Station would burn the city to the ground.
  6. Technically it's only $21 million now and $7.1 million every year (based on last years numbers). So it's cheaper now tham the full $75 but is any other attainable coach worth $25-30 million with buyouts and $15 million per year not including assistants? My dream is that they pull the trigger strike out on every name out there and then hire Mark Stoops on a 7 year $50 million deal.
  7. Jimbo.mp4 Bumping this gem I made a couple years back
  8. Since 2008 only 14 teams have beat Bama in the regular season. Everybody talks about the post Bama let down game but only 3 times has a team beat Bama and then lost their next game. In 2019 & 2017 Auburn lost their next game but '19 was a bowl and '17 was the SEC Championship game. The only team to lose the following regular season game was in 2010 when South Carolina lost to Kentucky on the road. Let's take a look at how the 14 teams fared the following week and how the rest of the season played out: 2022 LSU- Beat Arkansas 13-10 and finished 3-2. Final Record: 10-4 2022 Tennessee- Beat Tennessee Martin 65-23 the next week and finished 5-2. Final Record: 11-2 2021 Texas A&M- Beat Missouri 35-12 and finished 4-2. Final Record: 8-4 naturally 2019 Auburn- Lost to Minnesota 24-31 in the Outback bowl and finished 0-1. Final Record: 9-4 2019 LSU- Beat Ole Miss 58-37 and finished 6-0 with a NC. Final Record: 15-0 2017 Auburn- Lost to Georgia in the SECCG and finished 0-2. Final Record: 10-4 2015 Ole Miss- Beat Vandy 37-16 and finished 7-3. Final Record: 10-3 2014 Ole Miss- Beat Texas A&M 35-20 and finished 4-4. Final Record: 9-4 2013 Auburn- Beat Missouri in the SECCG and finished 1-1. Final Record: 12-2. 2012 Texas A&M- Beat SHSU 47-28 and finished 3-0. Final Record: 11-2. 2011 LSU- Beat Western Kentucky 42-9 and finished 4-1. Final Record: 13-1 2010 Auburn- Beat South Carolina in the SECCG and won the NC. Final Record: 14-0 2010 LSU- Beat ULM 51-0 and finished 3-1. Final Record: 11-2 2010 South Carolina- Lost to Kentucky 35-27 and finished 5-4. Final Record 9-5.
  9. Was told my a few Bama/SEC honks at the game that Texas would take a few years to catch up the depth needed to complete in the SEC weekly. We are catching the SEC at the perfect time and if Sark can keep stacking talent we will be able to get back to 10+ wins annually.
  10. The historic 2022 A&M recruiting class has already set the record for most losses in year 1 and is currently pacing for the worst 4 year record for a #1 class. The 2010 Florida team went 8-5 in year 1 and 30-21 over 4 years. The average record of #1 classes is 47-7 and with a current record of 6-8 the 2022 aggie recruiting class has already achieved below average results. The commitment from Texas A&M to mediocrity is unmatched.
  11. Got in to ETX at 7 this morning. Couldn't have asked for a better time including the killer tailgate. Hope I connected with some of you degenerates. Hoping to make another home game and do it all again.
  12. And I am the opposite. I skimmed your post and agreed without giving it full thought 😂
  13. Love the insight and agree on your points. I didn't want to sound like another amateur analyst and took the hopeful fan approach. But I stand by the fact that big time programs fare better in big time games regardless of recent history (Strong years excluded for obvious reasons).
  14. Dang should have re read but had 5 people in and out as I was posting this. Thanks for the heads up
  15. Here we go again Texas vs Bama Part Deux but this time we are rolling into the hostile territory of Bryant Denny Stadium. Last year at this time we were 20 point dogs and didn’t stand a chance against Saban as he and his 5 star fueled Death Star came to Austin. This team included 3 first rounders and 8 total picks in the first 2 days of the 2023 draft but they needed to yet again injure a Texas QB and get some Big 12 ref magic to squeak out a 1 point victory. Was this a case of Saban slipping a little bit or was Texas and Steve Sarkisian finally pulling out of their decades of mediocrity? Based on how each team finished the season it seems like more of the former as Bama lost to Tennessee for the first time in Saban’s tenure while LSU and the fighting Kelly’s beat them in an OT mid-off. During this time Texas finished 7-4 with a couple of big wins and a couple embarrassing losses. To pull off the biggest win in years Texas has to do to buck the following trends: 1. Texas mediocrity: For the past 13 years Texas has been the laughingstock of CFB and failed to live up to expectations exactly once (2018) but even then lost 4 games including a laugher to Maryland. Can Texas finally win a monster on the road and officially claim to be back for good? 2. Sevin Win Sark: Out of his 7 full seasons as a head coach Sark has won more than 7 games only 3 times. Even his biggest backers here couldn’t name a matchup of this magnitude that he has coached his team to a win in. Will he be able to finally get a big win on the road and a new nickname by years end? 3. Saban’s Dominance at Home: Saban at Alabama has won 103 and lost just 8 games at home since taking over in 2007. The current streak sits at 21 games since a team last walked out of Tuscaloosa with a win. Has Saban finally jumped the shark All the daunting trends and statistics aside here is why Texas is going to shut up all of the talking heads and pull out a dominating victory in Tuscaloosa: 1. We’re fucking Texas: Other fanbases and media will laugh at the notion that the Texas decal on the helmet means anything but disappointment but since the beginning of time Texas has dared to play big games and more often than not came out ahead. Texas has a winning record against every other Blue Blood except USC and ND. If you exclude the annual matchup with OU the total record is 25-21. But what about on the road you ask? Texas in 9-8 in true road games against the non OU Blue Bloods. No University of Texas player, coach, or fan is going to be fazed by the atmosphere, this type of game is why you choose the University of Texas. 2. Saban’s Swan Song: It is no secret that Alabama has lost their CFB throne to Georgia over the last 2 seasons but they are still 1B in the CFB pecking order. Saban has built up a lot of trust in his program to warrant the #3 ranking in a year when they lost a Heisman QB, all world defender, and do it all RB. Recruiting rankings suggest they just reloaded and will keep rolling but this is not your Uncle’s Alabama. To replace Bryce Young they tapped Jalen Milroe to assume the throne at QB despite their best efforts to buy an elite QB in the portal. If his game against the aggies is any indication than it will be a long night for Saban in Tuscaloosa. 3. Poetic Justice: Since that night at the Rose Bowl Texas has coveted a seat at the table that they once had a standing reservation at. Year after year we have had to sit by and watch an Alabama dynasty reel off championship after championship that was propelled by an injury to a Texas QB. Every dominant program has an alpha and omega when the world either knows you have arrived or that the end is near. In tandem the alpha and omega happened for Alabama and Texas on January 7th, 2010 while millions looked on. This Saturday will be the bookend moment for both of these programs as Texas beacons to the world that they are in fact back while leaving Alabama faithful wondering what will be next for their beloved program. The stars are aligned for a big night for the Horns in Tuscaloosa this weekend. Quinn has an opportunity to show us why he is the highest rated QB of all time and cement his legacy as a Texas QB. Sark is gunning to come full circle from wonderkid when he was hired at UW to a seasoned veteran HC with a career defining year. This team fucks and will prove it on the field in primetime. See yall in Tuscaloosa, I will be in U4-CC. Hook ‘em “The pride and winning tradition of The University of Texas will not be entrusted to the weak or the timid”
  16. I feel that but I woke up Sunday ready to run through a brick wall. Ready for the neg train if 7 win Sark shows his true colors once again.
  17. Is @closetojumping or one of his minions /s. Going to write a mudhole post this week or should I? No promises it will be entertaining but I am up to the challenge.
  18. Sorry just a little amped up that we're 5 days away from fucking up Bama at their place and so many here are complaining about 3 bad throws. 🤘
  19. There is 0 chance that any team just over protects the middle/short routes and dares Quinn to beat them deep with WRs streaking wide open deep.
  20. ESPNs QBR is out of whack for the college level. Passer Rating/Passing Efficiency seems to be better suited. Quinn was 34th at 169.3 and would have been 15th at 206.76 if Brooks and JT dont drop that TDs. QBR says Chandler Morris had a better day with less than 60% completion and 2 picks. Whereas Passer Rating had him in the 80s and 50 points lower than Quinn. It also has the UMass having a better QBR with 51% completion with 240 yards, 0 TDs and a pick over two games. Rating has him in the 90s and 58 points lower than Quinn. Same with the WVU QB and a few more but let's stop with the QBR nonsense that ESPN puts out. Their system is fine tuned for the NFL.
  21. The Tech Oregon game opened up with Oregon as a 7 point favorite for the bettors out there. Seems like easy money
  22. Quinn was much less of a problem than the OL blocking and running backs getting us behind the chains. Sure he needs to hit the deep throws but not getting any help from those two lowered the offensive output yesterday. Bama will be there for the taking if those units get their act together.
