  1. I’ve been out of claims Mgmt for a while but MPC was always offset under UM/UIM. I do seem to recall some lawsuits about how it was calculated though. Meaning, you couldn’t evaluate as a policy limits case then offset the MPC so you would end up paying less then policy limits.
  2. You can’t subrogate PIP but I thought you could on MPC. That was the case when using UM/UIM.
  3. When I bought the operations they were a Trane Premier Dealer. I did not want to rock the boat in transition so I did not seek alternatives. However, we sell a lot of variable speed higher end units and there are really only 2 players there being Trane and Lennox. Trane is universally recognized by most patrons and is a good product. Aside from their plant in Tyler shutting down due to the roof collapsing during Snowpocalypse and killing 18 and 20 SEER unit supplies, they have been pretty good to work with. Older Nexia stats have been an issue but those were installed in 2018 and 2019. Most have phased out. We have sold some Lennox when a customer insisted on it, but almost exclusively Trane on the Resi side. Only real bone I have to pick is the labor reimbursement they give us on warranty work. The rates are fine, but the time allotted sucks.
  4. are you sure those coverages/endorsements are not included in that specific policy form? Most of those are not a la carte type endorsements.
  5. Is it good that the only person batting over .300 is the old man?
  6. A little. I was able to use my buddies Pulsar and found it easy to use and the price was a little less than the Hogster so I went with it.
  7. Not that I have seen. I found a place up north that had them at retail thought I might take a flyer on the SiB and FP.
  8. Benchmark is a good option but I was curious if anyone had tried the other variations that came out earlier this year?
  9. It still baffles me that within the parties involved in a RE transaction the seller has to pay the fees of a buyer's agent that is actively working against the seller's best interest.
  10. Yeah I realize I’m in the minority on it. Just don’t like Jack products like many don’t like Dickel.
  11. I know. It was the SiB BS. I always get a heavy charcoal taste from Jack that I don’t care for.
  12. Weller FP last night at whiskey cake. It’s delicious. My search to get a full bottle will probably never come to fruition. Had some Garrison Single Barrel as well. Pretty good hooch. JD in any form is still trash.
  13. It appears Tulo and I need to have a talk.
  14. Come on guys. Help him out on the bump.
  15. 7 total on W2. Resi is our main bread and butter but we will do some commercial work as it pertains to maintenance and retrofits. For example we have a CPMA on a office building that now needs full replacement on all units. That will be about $250k worth of work. I’ll bid on some GC work if they are awarded the bid and we know them well. Don’t have time for it otherwise. The church was just a raw deal. Pastor isn’t happy we weren’t awarded the bid but he didn’t stress enough to the 3rd party (Not GC) managing the project we were to be given last look/awarded and the PM just used his group and got a kickback I’m sure.
  16. Oh boy where to start. It’s going okay but needs to get better from a sales standpoint. The seller is not pulling his weight and I’m facing some really tough compensation decisions with him. I need to insulate the business from him. I’m basically finishing out a house that was down to the studs. I’ve had to create org charts, define job duties, create workflows for a group that has never really had to deal with any of that. Reframing their mindset that not all jobs are good, profitable jobs. Be on time, don’t be a slob, stop complaining and get shit done or I will find someone who will. The book is fine. We lose very few existing clients they just weren’t marketing to them well. Supplies on higher end variable units have been a real issue. We have clients that have been waiting since mid April for the condensers to arrive. I could acquire a nice plumbing company right now but I think it is a bit too early for plumbing. I have looked at 2-3 HVAC to add but they want too much and don’t understand how valuations work. My M&A background helps a lot there. If I had the backing I could probably acquire enough to have $3m+ in EBITDA by the end of ‘21 and have a very good geographical presence in NE and East of Dallas. Lost a big job on a church last week due to some shenanigans from the GC we actually got on the project.
