  1. I don’t do carbs very often and typically just get the antipasta salad with their house Italian. It’s not bad. My son loves their pizza and my folks love their spaghetti and lasagna. It’s definitely one of the better pizza places in Tyler.
  2. Yeah, I saw that floating around on facebook. I believe his son played baseball at LSU as well. Don't expect great service if you do eat at Bruno's though. The food is great, service sucks.
  3. He's the best at what he does, in my opinion. He is over by Caldwell now. Dropped off some stuff at his new place about 6 months ago. Very good guy. I'll have to give Stanley's a shot, maybe Friday.
  4. The dad of my exgirlfriend owned Beckham Shoe Repair right next to Stanley's. I went there (Stanley's) a few times when I'd go pick up some shoes or leather he was fixing for me. It was OK back then. Haven't eaten there in a long while. May go there this weekend.
  5. I took Advil/Tylenol for a day or two, NyQuil 2 nights then just let my body fight it. Ended up caving and buying some mucinex towards the tail end of symptoms to clear my head of congestion. A few studies have shown that artificially decreasing your body temperature with acetaminophen will prolong the infection. I took that route and it worked out fine for me. YMMV though.
  6. This is me 2.5 weeks later. Coffee is still hit or miss for me. Actually, all drinks are like this. I can taste food 100% but tea, coffee, powerades are a little off. Glad you're on the mend.
  7. Feeling 99% as of today. Went and got an antibody test at Kroger at 1 today and tested positive for IgG antibodies. I wanted to get some type of assurance that I've had covid since I didn't get a positive PCR test (wife and son both did). Smell is 100% back to normal and taste is about 90% back to normal.
  8. I cooked at 275 for about 4 hours, sprayed once around 3 hours with some apple juice then wrapped them in pink butcher paper for another 2.5 hours, pulled them out and let them sit in a cooler for an hour. Less maintenance than pork ribs. Leave the membrane on.
  9. I enjoyed these
  10. Mustard isn’t really necessary for beef. I use it on pork ribs and pork shoulder but have never used it on beef. I sprayed those ribs once with apple juice around the 3 hour mark, wrapped them at 4 hours and took them off two hours after that. Let them sit in a cooler, wrapped for an hour. Bones kinda just fell off. They were legit some of the best things I’ve ever grilled. Edit: on my traeger at 275 by the way.
  11. Sterns declared for the NFL.
  12. Bought a rack of beef short ribs at Costco earlier this week. Been wanting to try them. Will do them again. It’s like brisket point on a bone. Absolutely delicious. Salt and pepper only.
  13. Keto helped me lose 120 pounds over the course of about 9 months. Transitioned to lower fat, higher carbs and protein to lose the last 10. Clean carbs though. Also did OMAD and still do. Easier for me to maintain my weight if I only eat once a day.
  14. Depends on how lean of red meat you're eating. Chuck 80/20? Pass. Filet or NY Strip? All day long. Just stick to meat (chicken, turkey, lean beef or wild game) and eat green veggies. Cut out the snacking. If you're trying to do low carb, cut out the berries/fruit and eat peanuts/almonds if you have to have a snack. You'd be surprised at how much weight you can lose quickly if you cut out snacking and stopped eating fruits. Fruits have sugar (even though it's unprocessed) and have a shitton of carbs. Also, don't drink calories. Sparkling water, water, black coffee, zero calorie powerade/gatorade.
  15. I lost 8 pounds when I had covid and got to 177. Not good. Appetite is back and I'm about to start going back to the gym with my rona antibodies.
  16. Are you exercising? What's wrong with red meat? Worried about cholesterol?
  17. I'd second that one. Owner is a guy who also owns a plumbing business who did some commercial work for my dad when he owned his restaurant. Posados on Gentry is surprisingly decent. My dad's old restaurant, too.
  18. My folks and in laws live in Tyler. I grew up there. I believe we have a few other folks who live there currently on the site. @dcbc comes to mind. Bruno's is good. They have two locations. South Tyler location on Old Jacksonville Hwy is the newer of the two. Jucy's is a good burger and they have a few locations as well. Don Juan's is my favorite tex-mex place but Jalapeno Tree on the Loop isn't too bad. Taqueria El Lugar is legit as well. Never had Stanley's but heard it's good.
  19. I know. I was being sarcastic.
  20. He's made it his goal to be 5% body fat. I'm not a college athlete, but I find it hard to believe that being that low in body fat can be a good thing for football players.
  21. Started to slowly get my sense of smell back yesterday. Taste is still a bit off. Glad this thing didn’t totally kick my ass. Feel better than I have today in the last 10 days combined.
  22. Finally starting to feel a bit better today. Took a little over a week. Smell and taste is still screwed up but not feeling as tired and worn down as I did last week.
  23. My son was exposed to two teachers who tested positive. He was exposed to them on 1/8 and 1/11. They tested positive on the 12th and was sent home. He started showing symptoms the 14th and tested positive on the 15th. My wife started showing symptoms on the 20th and tested positive the 22nd. I started feeling shitty and tested positive on the 23rd.
  24. My folks and aunt got their second shots yesterday. My dad had no reaction at all. My mom felt off all day and actually spent most of the day in bed today. Thankful they got their second (In Tyler - Smith County).
  25. Day 5 or 6 at this point. Body aches are gone, just now fatigued. Fever is gone for the most part but everything feels like a chore. Head fog is pretty bad. Taste is completely gone, smell is hit or miss. I feel just really tired.
